A Study on the Type of Automatic Yard Operation in the Container Terminal (컨테이너터미널 야드 운영의 자동화 방식 결정에 관한 연구)

  • 전 세계 항만은 급속히 변화하는 환경에 적응하고, 경쟁국가 항만보다 앞서나가기 위한 노력을 지속적으로 경주하고 있는 실정이다. 주목할 만한 세계항만의 변화는 연평균 $8.4\%$씩 증가 추세에 있는 전 세계 물동량 및 선박의 대형화 즉, 현재 8,000TEU급 선박은 물론 12,000TEU급 선박까지 출현하는 현실을 들 수 있다. 이외에도 인건비 상승, 항만관련 기술 환경의 변화와 같은 환경적 변화가 급격히 일어나고 있는 실정이다. 국내의 경우도 2000년 현재 912만TEU 수준인 물동량이 2011년에는 1,318만 TEU로 증가할 것으로 전망하고 있는데 이는 2000년 현재의 3배 수준이고, 인건비 또한 컨테이너터미널 비용의 $40\%$이상을 차지하는 둥 다양한 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서 국내 특히 부산항만은 이러한 환경변화에 대응할 수 있는 컨테이너터미널 시설이 필요한데 이를 위해서는 현재의 시설은 최대한 활용하면서 생산성의 극대화는 물론 비용 절감을 위한 방안이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 국외 선진 자동화 컨테이너터미널의 야드 운영현황을 파악하여 요인도출 및 이러한 결과를 토대로 국내 의 경우 어떠한 부분들을 자동화하는 것이 가장 효과적인지에 관한 대안을 도출한다. 도출된 대안별로 초기 투자비 및 운영비에 대한 현재가치를 제시하여 의사결정자의 의사결정 시 참고할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이러한 연구는 현재 국내 컨테이너터미널이 향후 자동화로 전 환할 때 중요한 기준이 될 수 있으며 항만에 관한 국가 정책수립 시에도 중요한 참고자료로서 활용가능하다.

An Empirical Study on the Strategies for the Container Terminal in Pusan (부산항 컨테이너터미널의 경쟁력 제고를 위한 전략에 관한 실증연구)

  • This paper aims to derive the strategies for the container terminal in Pusan. So it has focused on analyzing the current conditions of Pusan container terminal while evaluating the difficulties arising from the existing facilities/equipment and the operating system in the Pusan Korea Container Terminal through the workers at the container terminal and at off-dock CY. The object of this study is to assist the existing terminals to operate the facilities/equipment reasonably and to contribute shaping the ports policy which will be the basis of constructing new ports that will remain competitive while maintaining superiority over the ports in northeast area. According to the analysis 68% of the supplier answered that their terminal services which are the most important factor in running a terminal were superior to the other while only 28% of the user answered that they thought the current services were superior. For the areas of supplementing the terminal the people working at the terminal answered in the order of business operation equipment the number of berth service and management ability while the user answered in the order of service computer system transportation system and equipment. According to the regression analysis it became clear that there should be more effort toward improving or supplementing the facility scale facility usage charge transportation facilities which will assist in developing competitiveness of the terminal. It was also noted that management ability and business ability were mentioned as the important factors in operating a terminal.

  • The global container terminal market is predicted to see continued future volume growth. According to Drewry, global container shipments rose by 6.3% year-on-year to 750 billion twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2017 and are forecast to experience continued growth to 9.3 billion TEUs in 2022. According to IHS Markit, the global terminal operator (GTO) market is forecast to grow more than 10% annually, up from $2.4 billion in 2017, to exceed $3 billion by 2022. However, Hyundai Merchant Marine is the only real GTO in Korea. In particular, the shipping and port markets are facing drastic changes, both at home and abroad, including a slowdown in the growth of domestic export and import shipments, environmental changes in the container market caused by the trade frictions between the US and China, and increased changes in container shipments caused by the trade frictions between Korea and Japan. In this study, we propose ways for domestic companies to participate in the continuously growing GTO market. After analyzing the current status of the global GTO market, the government expressed a desire to explore ways to establish GTOs through the Port Authority and the Korea Ocean Business Corporation. Therefore, four types of establishment plans were proposed, along with a legal framework for the establishment of GTOs.

Estimation of the CY Area Required for Each Container Handling System in Mokpo New Port (목표 신항만의 터미널 운영시스템에 따른 CY 소요면적 산정에 관한 연구)

  • The CY can be said to function in various respect as a buffer zone between the maritime and overland inflow-outflow of container. The amount of storage area needed requires a very critical appraisal at pre-operational stage. A container terminal should be designed to handle and store containers in the most efficient and economic way possible. In order to achieve this aim it is necessary to figure out or forecast numbers and types of containers to be handled, CY area required, and internal handling systems to be adopted. This paper aims to calculate the CY area required for each container handling system in Mokpo New Port. The CY area required are directly dependent on the equipment being used and the storage demand. And also the CY area required depends on the dwell time. Furthermore, containers need to be segregated by destination, weight, class, FCL(full container load), LCL(less than container load), direction of travel, and sometimes by type and often by shipping line or service. Thus the full use of a storage area is not always possible as major unbalances and fluctuations in these flow occuring all the time. The calculating CY area must therefore be taken into account in terms of these operational factors. For solving such problem, all these factors have been applied to estimation of CY area in Mokpo New Port. The CY area required in Mokpo New Port was summarized in the conclusion section.

  • LNG is being spotlighted as a clean marine fuel because of recent trend in reinforcement of marine environmental regulation. In this paper, demand prospect of LNG bunkering for Ulsan port is carried out to analgize the possibility of commercialization of floating LNG bunkering terminal. Environmental analysis for LNG bunkering and LNG bunkering trends of competitive ports in the world are considered to draw out the prospection of LNG bunkering demand in Ulsan. As a result, car carrie and oil carrier were expected to have more possibility in switching to LNG fuelled ship. The LNG bunkering demand in Ulsan. The LNG bunkering demand in Ulsan port was expected to be about from 650,000 ton to 900,000 ton in 2030 and Ulsan port is prospected to be a good port for FLBT business in th future.

부산신항 ITT 도입 평가요소에 관한 연구

  • 부산항 신항은 2018년도 기준으로 컨테이너 14,559천TEU를 처리하였으며, 환적은 58.89%을 점유하고 연평균 6.41% 증가되고 있다. KMI 2017년도 물동량예측량의 연평균 증가율을 적용하면 부산항 신항의 환적화물량은 2030년에는 12,326천TEU에 이를 것으로 전망된다. 아울러, 환적화물 중에서 타부두 환적물량은 2018년도 기준 26.3%이며 총 신항 물동량대비 15.51%에 이르고 있다. 이러한 증가추세를 고려하면 2030년 타부두 환적물량은 3,080천만 TEU에서 3,600천TEU에 이를 것으로 전망된다. 한편, 타부두 환적물량 증가에 따른 부두간 컨테이너 이송량이 증가되고 있으며, 이러한 화물 증가량은 배후 임항도로의 정체를 초래를 야기시키어 항만 경쟁력을 약화시키는 원인으로 작용된다. 본 연구에서는 부산항 신항에서 타부두 환적을 위한 전용시스템의 도입 평가요소 우선순위에 대하여 터미널 운영사, 선사, 항만공사 및 관련 전문가에 대하여 설문을 실시하여 도출하였다. ITT 도입 평가요소 항목으로서 생산성, 안정성, 투자효율성, 운영효율성, 정책부합성에 대하여 검토하였으며, 각 하위 평가요소로서는 각각 3개씩에 대하여 총 15개의 하위요소에 대하여 평가를 실시하였으며, 이를 통하여 항후 부산 신항의 ITT 도입시 평가 요소로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • '가구업계의 공룡'인 이케아가 한국에 상륙했다. 지난해 12월 18일 경기도 광명시 KTX역 인근에 첫 한국매장을 연 후 하루 3만명 이상의 인파가 운집하는 등 연일 화제를 뿌리고 있다. 10년 전만 해도 사람들의 발길이 잘 닿지 않았던 이 지역은 KTX 광명역 개통 후 주로 기차 승객들이 왕래했으나 최근 코스트코 광명점과 광명종합터미널, 롯데 프리미엄아웃렛이 개장되면서 점차 활기를 띄고 있으며, 이케아 광명점 개장을 계기로 경기도권 최대의 쇼핑특구로 성장할 전망이다. 이케아는 지난 1943년 스웨덴에서 설립된 이래 전세계 40개국 340여개 매장에서 가구뿐만 아니라 벽시계, 가방 등 인테리어 소품까지 약 9,500여 종의 물품을 판매하고 있으며, 전세계 직원수 15만명, 매장당 평균 매출 약 1,200억원에 이르는 다국적 대기업이다. 이케아는 또 유럽에서 눈부시게 성장하고 있는 에너지 기업 가운데 하나다. 전 세계에 풍력발전기 96대를 직접 설치해 전기를 생산한다. 또한 광명점에 3,000개를 비롯해 전 세계 100여개 매장에 태양광 패널 55만개를 설치했다. 생산된 전기는 공장과 매장에서 쓴다. 본지는 지난 해 11월 말 준공검사를 끝내고 개장 준비로 분주한 이케아 현장에서 기계설비 및 소방공사를 담당한 (주)정도설비 이대호 현장소장과 시공사인 대림산업의 공화석 설비부장을 만났다.

  • Recently, the harbor function is being reconsidered with the viewpoint of logistics, and various efforts are given to enhance the harbor performance agglomerating all procedures of stevedoring, treatment and background transportation of freight. The harbor performance largely depends on the efficient combination of the engineering part of harbor construction and the forthcoming logistics part. It may thus be anticipated in the future that the design concept of harbor construction will be transferred to a comprehensive consideration integrating both engineering and logistics parts to maximize the ultimate harbor operational performance. In the present study, various indicators for assessing a modem container terminal performance are presented far the purpose of helping harbor engineers understand the fundamental logistics through container handling operations. The indicators are compared, analyzed and compiled, by referring to the practical cases of Busan and Gwangyang ports as an illustration.

  • As North-east Chinese parts including Shanghai port grow rapidly, competition among the Far-East parts to be a hub port is getting higher, somebody has even raised a crisis of Busan port. However there are same constraints an the North-east parts such as weather aggravation and long distance from main truck routes. When we consider the competitiveness of port, weather aggravation should be considered as one of the significant factors. But previous studies have rarely examined these kinds of external factors of port operation Therefore, this study analyze constraints an the North-east Chinese parts through a survey of same national flag shipping companies and agencies of foreign shipping companies. The result shows that the mast significant constraint in the North-east ports is weather aggravation which causes problems for regular schedules of shipping, operation cast and customer service qualities etc.

  • According to the statistics of the Ministry of Land Transport and Transportation in 2018, the average annual average number of air traffic users for has increased by 5.07% for domestic flights and 8.84% for international flights. Korea is facing a steady rise in demand from foreign tourists due to the Korean Wave. At the same time, a new lifestyle that values the quality of life of individuals is taking root, along with the emergence of LCC, and Korean tourists' overseas tours are also increasing, so improvement and expansion of domestic airport passenger terminals is urgently needed. it is important to develop a structured airport infrastructure by making efficient and accurate forecasts of aviation demand. in this study, based on the Big Data, long-term domestic and international demand forecasts for urban airports were conducted.. Domestic flights will see a decrease in the number of airport passengers after 2028, and international flights will continue to increase. It is imperative to improve and expand passenger terminals at domestic airports.
