Wireless AD-hoc network can construct a network itself without any arbitrator. Therefore, it is difficult to make preparation for disguised assault from an illegal node, and because lots of packets from disguised assault spread over whole network, it influences the network usability and livability. This thesis proposed a safe IPv6 tunnel broker (TB) based on TSP (Tunnel Setup Protocol) to improve safety of the wireless Ad-hoc network, and to solve security problem of a tunnel broker that makes a linkage IPv4 and IPv6. To communicate between client and the tunnel broker, proposed method does not base on HTTP, but S-HTTP (Secure-HTTP) and it uses encryption/decryption to send and receive XML document. Finally, this method encrypts (decrypts) important information by applying IPSec between client and TS (Tunnel Server).

Resistivity survey is one of the widely used methods for the investigation of stability of the ground or bedrock around tunnel and is also used as an essential base data for stability and reduction of construction cost through first-hand approximation of rock quality at design step. Generally, the analysis of resistivity survey data is performed by single measurement. When distribution variation of groundwater around a tunnel over time is necessary for maintenance of a tunnel, resistivity monitoring is very useful survey method to grasp distribution variation of groundwater. So we performed the grid line resistivity survey to monitoring resistivity variation for six times. And we also tried to evaluate application possibility of the resistivity monitoring for construction safety through providing detailed information on fault zones.

This paper concerns smoke propagation in tunnel fires with various size of fire source. Experiments carried out in model tunnel and those results were compared with numerical results. The Froude scaling law was used to scale model tests for comparison with larger scale tests. In order to validate for numerical analysis, temperature distribution of predicted data was compared with measured data. Examining the temperature distribution, we found that smoke layer does not come down under 50% of tunnel heights for a short tunnel heights for a short tunnel firs without ventilation. Front velocity of smoke layer is proportional to the cube root of heat release rate. And it is in good agreement with existing empirical expression and numerical prediction. In a short tunnel fire, horizontal propagation of smoke layer is more important than vertical smoke movement for evacuation plan.
Considerable evaluation is needed to design a new longitudinal tunnel in advance because it damaged drivers' driving safety and heightened the possibility of traffic accidents with its physical characteristics. Specifically, considering traffic psychological and ergonomic factors was very important to prevent the difficulty of maintaining safe speed, the increase of the drowsy driving, the fatality of traffic accidents, and subjective feelings such as anxiety while driving a car through the tunnel, from design to construction. This study dealt with driving safety evaluation of an original road alignment design for the longitudinal tunnel (length: above 10km) with a driving simulator, and helped us to improve an original road alignment design and make an alternative road alignment design with presenting risky districts. The results of experiment showed that inflection points were revealed more risky districts, because they impaired driving safety and elevated driver workload while driving a car through around the inflection points of two-way route. Finally, the limitations and implications of this study were discussed.

Prohibition of lane changes in bridges and tunnels have been many problems in throughputs of expressways caused by heavy vehicles and slow-moving traffics. Nevertheless, those are constructed actively by the general trends, which are preservation of environment and ecosystem are more important, because mountainous districts are about 70% across the whole extent of Korea. In this paper, the proper design standards for permission of lane changes in bridges and tunnels classified into structure, safe, and driver's conveniences are suggested as follows. 1. Right shoulder should have more than 2.5m in bridges and tunnels. 2. Sufficient equipments of guidance like as directional signs, fingerposts, variable message signs, and markings should be established to smooth and safe lane changes of drivers. 3. Snow melting systems should be established in bridges worried about freezing. 4. Tunnels must be not only satisfied standards for prevention of disasters (2004.11) and lighting rules (KSA 3703), but also established anti-freezing facilities in entrance and exit. 5. The drivers should have honed on their car lights.

Rock mass is very inhomogeneous in nature and data obtained by site investigations and tests are very limited. For this reason, many uncertainties are to be included in the process of constructing structures in rock mass. In the design of a tunnel, support pattern, advance rate, and excavation method, which are important design parameters, must be determined to be optimal. However, it is not easy to determine those parameters. Moreover if those parameters are determined incorrectly, unexpected risk occurs such as decrease in the stability of a tunnel or economic loss due to the excessive supports etc. In this study, how to determine an optimal support pattern and advance rate, which are the important tunnel design parameters, is introduced based on a risk analysis. It can be confirmed quantitatively that the more supported a tunnel is, the larger reliability index becomes and the more stable the tunnel becomes. Also an optimal support pattern and advance rate can be determined quantitatively by performing a risk analysis considering construction cost and the cost of loss which can be occurred due to the collapse of a tunnel.

Recently there has been increased interest for the portal and shallow tunnel for an eco-friendly tunneling method. Semi cut & cover tunnel excavation techniques applied to concrete slab and construction and a growing number of cases, but there is no load combinations and arch concrete cross section for the applicable standards. Therefore, in this study, ground conditions and tunnel overburden thickness, thickness of backfill, overburden surface slope angle changes to a variety of conditions in order to propose standards for the semi cut & cover method was performed numerical analysis. Regression analysis method to the analysis of the results of numerical analysis, and linear regression equations derived to classify and organize a rational, economical, and safe semi cut & cover tunneling method based proposed.
Recently, the number of tunnels on national roads has been increased due to the trend that construction of the large-scaled cut slopes is limited because of the environmental issues. Therefore, the slope failures of tunnel portal have often occurred. The tunnel portal in use has limitations on selection of the countermeasure and construction against slope failure. In the cases of Suanbo hot springs 1 and 2 tunnel portals, seedding was chosen and constructed as the countermeasureof slope failure when the tunnel was first built but collapsed in April, 2002. In this study, the failure sites were examined accurately through the site investigation and an efficient countermeasure according to stability analysis is presented. It is shown that it is very efficient to use resloping for Suanbo hot springs 1 tunnel and concrete buttress, rock anchor to reinforcement countermeasure, and attached rockfall prevention net by dividing the site into 3 sections for Suanbo hot springs 2 tunnel.
