국내외 물류기업의 해외진출 방향, 전략 및 사례

  • 국내의 주요 물류기업들 중 16개 기업이 '종합물류기업'이라는 인증을 받기위해 건설교통부로부터 심사를 받고 있다. 올 상반기중에 우리나라를 대표하는 종합물류기업이 탄생할 것으로 기대된다. 이들 기업을 비롯하여, 물류기업들이 국내시장 규모만을 바라보고 경쟁하기 보다는 보다 넓은 해외진출을 꾀하여 글로벌 물류기업으로 다시 태어나야 할 것이다. '물류'라는 단어가 우리나라에 들어온지 불과 30년도 채 안되는 시점에서 동북아 물류중심을 외치는 우리의 물류산업은 비약적인 발전을 이뤘으며, 국내 시장이 아닌 중국을 비로한 해외 각국으로 진출하는 국제물류에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 최근 21세기에는 북한, 아시아, 중국의 항만, 도로, 철도 등 하부구조를 크게 성장시켜, 권역 운송을 광역화하고 복합운송을 발전시켜야 한다는 의견과 더불어 물류시장의 개방을 통한 외국 운송업체들의 참여를 유도하여 국내 업체의 경쟁력을 키워야 한다는 업계의 의견이 조심스럽게 흘러나오고 있다. "만약 물류시장이 개방될 경우 우리나라 물류기업은 생존 대응능력은 있는가!"하는 의문은 종합물류기업들을 보면 답이 나올 것이다. 해외시장 개척을 적극적으로 펼치면서 외국 물류기업과 어깨를 나란히 하고자 하는 국내의 우수 물류기업들이 많다. 그 중 몇몇 기업들을 살펴보면 대한통운, 글로비스, 한솔CSN, 현대택배, 한진, 현대상선 등은 해외현지법인화를 통하여 글로벌 물류기업으로 도약을 꾀하고 있는 기업도 많다. 이번호에는 "국내외 물류기업의 해외진출 방향, 전략 및 사례"를 통하여 글로벌 물류기업으로 성장하고 있는 업체들의 해외진출현황을 간략히 살펴보고, 전략에 대해 물류전문가로부터 의견을 들어본다.

  • Ontology specifies the knowledge in a specific domain and defines the concepts of knowledge and the relationships between concepts. It is possible to provide the service based on the semantic web through the ontology. Therefore, to specify and define the knowledge in a specific domain, it is required to generate the ontology which conceptualizes the knowledge. Accordingly, to search the information of potential customers for home-delivery marketing of post office, we design the specific domain to generate the ontology based on the semantic web in this paper. And we propose how to retrieve the information, using the generated ontology. We implement the data search robot which collects the information based on the generated ontology. Also, we confirm that the ontology and the search robot perform the information retrieval exactly.

Development of an IoT-based Unmanned Home-Delivery Box System (사물인터넷(IoT) 기반의 무인 택배함 시스템 개발)

  • This paper is concerned with an Internet of Things (IoT)-based unmanned home-delivery box system, in which the system is developed with a prototype using a weight sensor, shock sensor, the Arduino and Raspberry-Pi of open-source hardware platforms. The developed system provides several functions such as a safe storage means, prevention of delivery-theft, and remote control of the home-delivery box, etc. Specifically, the system recognizes the arrival of goods by detecting the weight of deliveries and sends the arrived message of deliveries to the recipient' smartphone, and also controls (i.e., open and close) the locker of the unmanned home-delivery box system remotely with the smartphone. Furthermore, the developed system provides automatically a warning alarm around the unmanned home-delivery box when an external shock is applied to the home-delivery box, and sends a message on the shock to the recipient' smartphone. The major functions of the developed home-delivery box system have been verified in a realistic environment, and confirmed to work well. With the application of the developed home-delivery box system to the homes and offices where recipients are always not to stay, it is expected to significantly improve the safety of delivered goods as well as to effectively prevent the delivery operatives posing as a crime.

  • The purpose of this study is to let the entire logistics system be managed in cyberspace by effectively sharing the logistics information between companies involved in the process, changing conventional commerce to electronic commerce. Most of the goods traded through electronic commerce are small goods involving small business transactions. This produces many problems in shipping and delivery and the leads an inefficient logistics system. Another problems is that there is no sharing of information that process the logistics flow and no systematic management of pick-up and delivery information. As a result, rise in logistics cost, longer delivery period and poor service quality are inevitable and these results are becoming an obstacle in the widespread usage of the electronic commerce. Companies that are part of logistics center can cooperate logistics business in Cyber space and share the entire logistics information through the cyber logistics center. This turns out in effective sharing of logistics information, and thus, allows efficient management of logistics, improves logistics service, and reduces logistics cost.

  • Courier and logistics services such as customer contact employees (customer-contact employee) of the attitudes and behavior of the customer satisfaction level of service quality evaluation and a very big impact. In this study, using a typical customer contact employees, and to target the delivery service industry employees the organization's service orientation and customer orientation by examining the impact on the quality of companies within the organization for growth and development needs and the importance of service orientation will be trying out for. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the chief executive of the organization to configure a service orientation and a detailed understanding of the factors that determine this by managing the organization to effectively come up with a way to make and ultimately the organization's service orientation, organizational culture can be positioned as effort should be taken. Second, service companies through regular training and education to maintain a certain level of service quality should be. Third, the service organization's service orientation is not a fad or a means of sustain and develop the company's survival strategy is to get out. To do this, good communication between the field and management can be achieved by a variety of channels to be established, and management's willingness to provoke sympathy for the employees should be provided.

Inference about Skills and Requirements for Logisticians from Job Advertisements by Content Analysis (물류업계의 채용공고 내용분석을 통한 물류인력의 자격요건 파악에 관한 연구)

  • This paper provides a comparison and analysis of job requirements in logistics industry. Over 300 job advertisements were collected from online job sites and companies' homepage, and analysed to explore the skills that employers want from job seekers by conducting content analysis. A comprehensive requirements and skills containing 11 main categories and 36 subcategories emerged from 332 job advertisements related logistics. From the analyses we identify that top three requirements for logisticians are more or less the same for industry employers regardless of industry sector. The findings of this study are also valuable for developing a new and up-to-date logistics curriculum.

  • In the recent a mobile internet makes a change in internet business. The mobile internet service is resulting in M-commerce. Even if M-commerce provides only information service, there will be much possibilities to make applications in various areas such as, delivery service, trading service, banking service etc. in the near future. Delivery service requires many steps in processing, originally. This study is designed to implement a mobile system which makes short in delivery process. It includes that a delivery man receives a signature on a paper and input data at the delivered place by using PDA at hand. The mobile system will be contributed to shorten delivery speed. It is proposed to implement the mobile office system for improving service efficiency in the business of delivery service. Understanding the Success Factors of Using Mobile Internet Systems in Logistics/Small Package Express Companies (물류.택배기업의 무선인터넷시스템 사용 성공요인에 관한 연구)

  • Although many employees in the logistics/small package express companies are using mobile information systems. there is little research on the individual impacts of adopting mobile information systems in the distribution area. Therefore, this study attempts to develop the research model to evaluate individual impacts on using mobile information systems which are frequently utilized in logistics and small package express companies. In order to propose the research model, we attempt to incorporate technology acceptance model and IS success model to evaluate individual impacts on using mobile information systems. To verify the research model, we collected 225 data from staffs who have mobile IT system in distribution and logistics area. We also verified the validity and reliability by using SEM(structural equation modeling). As a results, we found that system use, cognitive judgement and attitude can be the key variables to improve individual impacts by using mobile information system. We further found that perceived usefulness can be ere of the Imp factors to improve the individual impacts. Based on out findings, we can understand that this research model can provide a deeper understanding of individual impacts of mobile information systems.
