A taxonomic study of Viola albida complex, containing the representative individuals of three taxa, V. albida var. albida, V. albida var. chaerophylloides, and V. albida var. takahashii, was done based on RAPD data. The amplified loci were 476 in total; obtained with 68 universal primers on seven OTUs. Nei's genetic dissimilarity appeared relatively low within individuals of V. albida var. albida and V. albida var. chaerophylloides (0.118-0.171 and 0.051 respectively), however, it was higher in individuals of V. albida var. takahashii (0.348). On the other hand, there is no specific trend in terms of genetic dissimilartiy among taxa, such as between individuals of V. albida var. albida and V. albida var. takahashii, between those of V. albida var. albida and V. albida var. chaerophylloides, and between those of V. albida var. albida and V. albida var. takahashii. The similarity of OTUs studied is high in clustering analysis, so that this result is compatible with the establishment of this complex. All OTUs are clustered within two groups. The individuals of V. albida var. takahashii, however, are clustered both to the group of V. albida var. albida and to the group of V. albida var. chaerophylloides, meaning that the genetic difference is high which would be commensurate with their morphological variations.

The situation and the problems of the management of public forest owend by Kangweon provincial and Taebaek municipal govenments were investigated throughout literature and field survey. The results were as follows; 1. Kangweon provincial forest is 25,896ha and Taebaek municipal forest is 550ha, which consists of Kangweon provincial forest, 470ha and municipal forest, 80ha. Taebaek city is responsible for the management of the province-owned forest in its administrative district in addition to its own forest. 2. Except San 1-2Changjookdong (443ha) which is leased by Dai Han Coal. Coporation for mining coal, the remaining forest (107ha) consists of 32 scattered, small-area forest lands. 3. Due to small area and dispersal of municipal forest, the management base for forest production is not sound and the management at present is nearly absent. Based on these actual conditions, the following suggestions are provided for the rationalization for the municipal forest management. First, scattered, small-scale forests should be gathered to prepare a management complex. Second, the sustaining production of timber should be attained through the estblishment of systematic management plan. Third, the reasonable system for forest land utiliztion shoule be established in consideration of the recreational use of public forest.

This study has been carried out to understand the effect of SP3 and GV6 acupuncture on the hyperglycemic rat induced with Streptozotocin (STZ). Diabetes was induced in experimental groups by inraperitoneal injection of STZ (50mg/kg of body weight) twice by 24 h interval and the additional 100mg/kg 3 days after the earlier treatment. Control group was treated with tail-non acupoint, and experimental groups were treated SP3, GV6 and SP3+GV6 after hyperglycemic induction for 6 weeks. The body weight of control was lower than the experimental groups. The blood glucose was decreased significantly in the experimental groups. Glucose tolerance in acupuncture treated groups was improved. Blood cholesterol level and transaminase activites were lower in the experimental groups than in the control. In the SP3 or GV6 treated rats, hepatocyte degeneration were apparently decreased and the organelles were properly arranged. Furthermore, decrease in liver IGF-I mRNA expression was improved by the acupuncture in STZ-induced diabetic rats. In conclusion, our observation indicate that SP3 or GV6 acupoints treatment can exert beneficial effects in diabetes, with preservation of ${\beta}-cell$ function and liver function.

태백산지의 내륙산간에 해당하는 태백시는 강원도의 주요 지역을 연결하는 결절지의 구실을 할 수 있는 지리적 위치에 있으며, 용연동굴 뿐만 아니라 많은 석회동굴이 산재하고 동굴의 보고 지역이다. 지금까지 이곳 주민의 주산업은 석탄광업에 의존하여 왔으나 현재는 정부의 석탄합리화 정책으로 인한 탄광의 폐광으로 마땅한 수익원이 없으므로 이촌향도 현상이 심화되어 가고 있다. 이러한 피폐를 탈피하기 위해서는 안정성이 높은 생활환경을 만드는 것이 시급한 이곳의 과제라고 하겠다.(중략)

우리나라에는 캠브로-오오도비스(Cambro-Ordovician)기에 속하는 조선누층군의 대석회암통이 넓게 분포되어 있어 석회암지대 특유의 Karst지형을 이루는 곳이 많다. 본 논문의 연구대상지역은 고생대 캠브로-오오도비스기의 조선계 대석회암통에 속하는 옥천지향사의 북부태백산지구를 중심으로 한 석회암 분포지역 중에서 Sinkhole terrain이 비교적 잘 발달되고 해발고도가 상이한 3개 지역을 선정하였다.(중략)

석탄산업은 서민생활보호와 에너지 안보 등 국가정책 목표달성을 위하여 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 또한 태백지역의 경우에는 석탄산업의 존립이 지역사회의 생존과 직결되고 있어서 이의 활성화가 매우 긴요하다. 그러나 석탄산업은 작업환경이 나쁘고 임금수준 등의 제반 여건이 좋지 않고, 사양산업이라는 인식이 만연되어 있는 관계로 근로자들의 이직율이 높고 신규인력의 유입율도 낮아서 탄광의 운영에 커다란 애로요인으로 등장하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 상황에 직면해 있는 태백지역 탄광업체의 인력난을 해결해 보기 위하여 탄광근로자들을 대상으로 설문지를 배포하고 이를 분석하여 그 해결책을 모색해 보고자 했다. 이를 위해서 경로분석과 이원분산분석을 통해서 이직요인을 발견하고 이를 위한 다각적인 대응방안을 구상해 보았다. 연구결과 태백지역 인력난을 완화시키고 노동인력의 정착성을 제고시키기 위해서는 1) 기업내적(企業內的)인 방안(方案)으로 근로생활의 보람(quality of working life) 조성, 기업문화의 조성, 임금제도의 개선과 생산성 향상, 후생복지시설의 개선, 내부적 제도의 개선과 회사운영의 공개, 대외적 홍보, 2) 정부(政府)의 지원방안(支援方案)과 논의사항(論議事項)으로 석탄산업에 대한 재정적 지원, 소비성 서비스업에 대한 노동력 유출억제, 교육여건의 개선 그리고 해외광원수입에 관한 문제는 장애요인이 많으므로 가능한 신중한 검토가 수반되어야 한다는 것 등을 고려할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Zoning of the agroclimatic regions was attempted based on the distribution of drought index, effective temperature, meteorological factors and their standard deviation and a climatic productivity derived from yield response of rice to temperature and sunshine hours. The meteorological data obtained from synoptic weather stations under the Central Meteorology Office and simple weather observatories under the Rural Development Administration at 155 locations throughout the country were computerized in the PDP11/70, RDA Computer Center, to analyze the climatic similarities among the locations, except the Jeju Island. The nineteen different agroclimatic regions were classified, ego the Taebaeg Mountainous Region. the Charyung Southern Plain Region, etc., and the climatic characteristics of the regions were identified.

지난 6월 13일 태백시종합문화예술회관의 설계경기 당선작이 발표되었다. 당선작은 (주)예가람건축(구정회)의 안으로 선정되었으며 (주)이일건축(박광범), 이송건축(이영우)의 안이 각각 우수작으로 선정되었다. 태백시민의 다양한 문화욕구를 충족시키고 문화예술활동을 통한 사회공동체의식의 함양을 기하며, 시민화합의 전당으로서 다목적 종합시설을 갖춘 미래지향적인 종합문화예술회관을 설립한다는 취지로 진행된 이번 설계경기는 4월 15일 현장설명이 있었고 5월 31일 접수마감으로 총 7개 사무소가 작품을 제출했다. 당선된 (주)예가람건축은 20m의 대지차로 인한 진입시의 어려움을 진입교량을 설치함으로써 용이하게 유도한 것이 당선된 주된 요인이 되었다고 밝혔다. 지하 1층, 지상2층의 규모로 지어질 이 문예회관은 대공연장, 소공연장, 전시장, 관리, 사무시설로 구성되어 지는데 오는 98년을 완공목표로 하고 있다.
