A Study on Non-acoustic Stealth Techniques of Submarine (잠수함의 비음향 스텔스 기법에 관한 연구)

  • The submarines reach their weakest point when they sail on the surface to operate snorkel and periscope. At this period, however, there lies a high possibility that the submarines are detected by non-acoustic sensors such as radars, IR signatures, and human observations. In this paper, the non-acoustic stealth was adopted on the mast and periscope of submarines so as to overcome their vulnerability of being easily detected in this given situation. First of all, the non-acoustic detection sensors were investigated and the stealth methods were analyzed. And multi-layered structures consisting of RAM layer, IR layer, and Camouflage layer were proposed on the surface of the submarine. As a results, multi-layered structure was suggested with 3~5 mm of a magnetic material such as ferrite for RAM layer, 1~2 mm of ceramic or nickel for IR layer, and sea-blue paint for Camouflage layer.

  • This paper comparatively analyze to integration case to have a influence detection range estimation about radar cross section in radar system. This paper estimate detection range used to probability of detection in radar equation that used to swerling case 1 in case of radar cross section is small and used to swerling case 3 in case of radar cross section is large. Through simulation, coherent integration and non-coherent integration about swerling case difference were comparatively analyzed. In the result of comparative analysis, non-coherent integration case is outstanding detection range and we known that coherent integration don't suitable for detection range estimation.

  • In this paper, a new spectral unmixing based target detection algorithm is proposed which adopted Iterative Error Analysis as a tool for extraction of background endmembers by using the target spectrum to be detected as initial endmember. In the presented method, the number of background endmembers is automatically decided during the IEA by stopping the iteration when the maximum change in abundance of the target is less than a given threshold value. The proposed algorithm does not have the dependence on the selection of image endmembers in the model-based approaches such as Orthogonal Subspace Projection and the target influence on the background statistics in the stochastic approaches such as Matched Filter. The experimental result with hyperspectral image data where various real and simulated targets are implanted shows that the proposed method is very effective for the detection of both rare and non-rare targets. It is expected that the proposed method can be effectively used for mineral detection and mapping as well as target object detection.

  • The frequency-hopping technique is one of the spread-spectrum techniques. Frequency hopping is a communication system in which the carrier frequency channel is hopped within the wideband. Therefore, a frequency-hopping system has such advantages as antijamming and low probability of intercept. This system is often used in military communications. Because frequency-hopping signal detection is difficult, it is an important research issue. A novel detection technique is proposed that can improve detection probability. When the received signal is transformed to a frequency domain sample by fast Fourier transform, spectral leakage lowers the detection probability. This problem can be solved by using the Hamming window, and the detection probability can be increased. However, in a frequency-hopping environment, the windowing technique lowers the detection probability. The proposed method solves this weakness. The simulation results show that the proposed detection technique improves the detection probability by as much as 13 %.

  • Collective traffic data (BPS, PPS etc.) for detection against the distributed denial of service attack on network is the time sequencing big data. The algorithm to detect the change point in the big data should be accurate and exceed in detection time and detection capability. In this work, the sliding window and discretization method is used to detect the change point in the big data, and propose five nonparametric test statistics using empirical distribution functions and ranks. With various distribution functions and their parameters, the detection time and capability including the detection delay time and the detection ratio for five test methods are explored and discussed via monte carlo simulation and illustrative examples.

Optimal Search Depth for the Sonar Systems in a Range-Dependent Ocean Environment (거리종속 환경에서 소나의 최적운용수심에 대한 연구)

  • In the detection of an underwater target, there exists an optimal search depth for the sonar systems, at which the Probability of Detection is maximized. The optimal search depth is dependent on the depths of the target and sonar, the sound speed profile, and the bathymetry. In this paper, we address this question in range-dependent environments, particularly for the bathymetry with slope and with warm eddy. For range-dependent bathymetry, the typical sound profile in the East Sea of Korea was used. The detection range was greater when the sonar was located in deep water than in shallow water. As for the case of eddy, mesoscale warm eddy was used, and the detection range was greater when looking out of the warm eddy than when looking into the eddy.

  • 사람들은 기업이나 제품에 대해 자신의 생각이 긍정적인지 부정적인지 표현하고자 한다. 트위터 사용자들은 트윗을 통해 자신의 생각을 표현한다. 본 논문에서는 트위터 데이터를 대상으로 대립관계에 있는 이슈에서의 바이어스 탐지 방법을 제안한다. 비지도학습 방법을 이용하여 트윗 패턴을 통해 세부자질을 추출하며, 세부자질에 대한 감정에 따른 확률 테이블을 구축하여 바이어스 탐지를 수행한다. 제안 방법의 유효성을 검증하기 위해 4 개의 대립 이슈에 대해 평가를 하였으며, 제안 모델이 기존의 모델보다 우수한 성능을 보였다.

  • Active electronically scanning antennas are faster and more flexible in beam-scheduling than mechanical antennas. Thus, they require an advanced resource management or detection methods to operate efficiently. In a surveillance radar performing periodic detection, alert-confirm detection is an excellent method to improve the cumulative detection probability by reducing the period while maintaining the detection probability. This paper proposes a design method for alert-confirm detection based on the parameters of the conventional design. We developed a simulator based on simulink@matworks and verified the result through Monte Carlo simulation.

  • 원전에서의 화재사고는 사람은 물론 주변 환경에도 막대한 영향과 피해를 가져오는 파괴적 재난이 될 수 있다. 오늘날 원자력 발전소를 위한 화재안전 프로그램들은 화재 발생 확률과 피해를 최소화하는 것을 우선 과제로 삼고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 어떠한 화재라도 안전작동 차단기능을 방해하지 않으며, 원전 주위에 방사능 유포 위험을 늘리지 않는다는 것을 목표로 화재안전 프로그램이 운영되고 작동중인 원자로의 넓은 적용 범위에서 초기 탐지능력을 강화하는 것이 중요하다고 할 수 있다.

  • This paper proposes a hybrid pseudo-noise (PN) code acquisition scheme for Multicarrier Direct Sequence - Code Division Multiple Access (MC DS-CDMA) mobile communication systems on the code acquisition performance for Nakagami-m fading channel. The hybrid acquisition scheme combines parallel search with serial search to cover the whole uncertainty region of the input code phase. It has a much simpler acquisition hardware structure than the total parallel acquisition and can achieve the mean acquisition time (MAT) slightly inferior to that of the total parallel acquisition. The closed-form expressions of the detection and false-alarm probabilities are derived.
