Web Based Instruction has its theoretical background in constructivism paradigm of education. According to social changes called information era and thanks to the sophisticated internet mechanism the constructivism in education has been dominant paradigm. In this paradigm information and knowledge are not merely given by a instructor facing the loaners. This system of instruction has n almost every field of discipline introduced. This article aims to examine how far WBI and constructivism are applicable for design education. Richard Branchia predicted that the learner oriented instruction method would become the dominant education system. He stressed an interactivity of the teacher and students. Upon this can the applicability of WBI for design education be affirmed. The purpose of this study was to explore the components of the geriatric robot pet, which might be helpful in caring for elderly people in the future. Focus group interview-with two focus groups-was performed between August 2014 and December 2014. Study participants were 13 geriatric experts from nursing, medicine, social work, and physical/occupational therapy. All interview data were transcribed, followed by debriefing and a qualitative content analysis. Three main themes emerged: acknowledgment of the usefulness of geriatric robot pet, establishment of elderly-centered appearance, and the functions of the robot pet to meet the needs of elders and family members. The robot pet was considered to be useful to elders who live alone since they can benefit from companionship and care provided by the robot pet. Geriatric robot pet needs to be manageable in size and weight, like a small dog. Moreover, a function that allows for interaction with and monitoring the elderly would be beneficial. The baseline elements that could guide further development of contents for the Korean geriatric robot pet were proposed from the results of FGI. Studies that validate these elements are necessary.

Iron was one of the most influential factors for formation and development of ancient countries. The diffusion of ironware had increased agricultural productivity and brought about military technical revolution. Needless to say, the rise and fall of the countries depended on the possession of stable iron production. Raw materials and fuels are the key factors for mass production of iron and a transportation route is essential to supply the goods. Jungwon area satisfies the three factors. There are many iron manufacture sites such as Jincheon Seokjang-ri Gusan-ri, and Chunju Chilgeum-dong Tangeumdae earthen ramparts in the Jungwon area. In order to study the ancient iron manufacture technique, reconstitution experiment was carried out using restored furnace which was made based on the Jincheon Seokjang-ri B-23 furnace. Some notable results were identified with the experiment as in the followings. Firstly, a roasting process has a connection with the decrease of hardness of the iron ore. Secondly, melting of the blast pipe as well as the formation of product within the furnace had a crucial effect on the cessation of the experiment. Thirdly, reduced iron in various locations within the furnace prove that there was enough reducing environment during the working. Not only melting point but also properties of iron can vary depending on the carbon contents. For the reason, formation of approximate environment in which iron can react to the chalcoal is the most important factor in terms of iron manufacture.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate how the child care teachers experience about professional vision development through participating in video clubs with their peers while watching videos about their interactions with children in the classroom. Methods: We selected three child care teachers in a day care center in Seoul area and conducted the qualitative case study. Video clubs were designed to support the quality of teacher-child interaction by developing child-care teachers' professional vision. And the video clubs used the self-reflection process and cooperative self-reflection process as an important educational method. Results: Teachers were able to experience the change of attention in watching their interaction scene through the 4-time video club participation and to have opportunity for educational (knowledge based) reasoning. Particularly, through participation in the video club, the teacher could pay attention to teachers' intention, teachers' decision making process, and child's intention. In addition, through video club participation, the teachers experienced educational interpretation based on children's thinking and interest; and reasoning through reflective thinking about the results of teaching behavior. This change of professional vision was possible through mutual scaffolding through cooperative reflection among participating teachers. Conclusion/Implications: Based on the results of this study we discussed the importance of the professional vision development of the child care teachers and the effectiveness of the video club for supporting their professional vision development.

Comedy has been popular since ancient Greece. In order to visualize comedy more effectively, the actor's acting acts as an important factor. Then active discussion is needed on how actors can actually shape their comedic performance. I would like to approach comedic acting methods, focusing on the character of Kim Seo-young in the play . This researcher played the character of Kim Mi-young, and the characteristics of comedic acting include exaggeration, repetition, fast tempo, changing tone, and exaggerated physical behavior. Comedic acting comes from a dissonance of reactions. This is because unexpected reactions to stimuli can cause audience laughter. Comedic acting is also important in exaggeration and repetition, which must be based on true acting. The fast tempo of the act and the changing tone of the words also affect comedic acting expressions, and the embodiments of 'slapstick' and 'group dance', which are characteristics of farce acting, play an important role in causing audience laughter. In order for these characteristic elements to show comic effects, the actor's true acting must be the basis. What is important in comedic acting is understanding the narrative flow and features of the text and expressing it accurately. Comedic effects can be sufficiently represented if an actor truly expresses his means and faithfully demonstrates what the text requires. It is hoped that such research will help explore various acting arts, the acting education field, and the theater creation process.
According to statistics, the number of mobile payment users in China shows an increasing trend year by year. However, less than half of people over 60 years old use mobile payment. The purpose of this study is to explore the reasons for the low usage rate of mobile payment platforms among the elderly in China. Through literature research, questionnaires and interviews, the author found that the main obstacle for the elderly in China to use mobile payment platforms is acceptance barrier. Then, the user experience research method and technology acceptance model (TAM) were combined to construct a new research model and five hypotheses affecting acceptance behavior in the model were summarized. Finally, the Analysis of Covariance(ANCOVA) was used to test the hypotheses and found that satisfaction (SA), perceived usefulness (PU) and job relevance (JR) had significant coefficients of 0.001, 0.000 and 0.004 respectively, all of which were less than 0.05 and therefore had a significant effect on acceptability. The other two elements, perceived ease of use (PE) and self-efficacy (SE), did not have a significant effect on acceptability. Ultimately, a new user experience acceptability model was constructed to provide theoretical support for mobile payment platform developers and designers to develop products from the acceptability perspective, so as to develop more mobile payment methods suitable for elderly users and improve the acceptance of mobile payment by the elderly.
For teachers, noticing refers to paying attention to something, indicating they interpret it and how they are willing to react to it in the context of their own instruction. Analysis of noticing features enables us to understand the overall characteristics of the teacher's lesson design, practice, and reflection, which are core agents in the educational design and implementation. This can also be taken to be the basis of education design for competency reinforcement for teachers. Therefore, in this study, the characteristics of noticing shown in teachers' reflections after class design and demonstration were identified. For this purpose, the self-reflection journals of 106 elementary pre-service teachers enrolled in the College of Education in Gangwon-do were analyzed. In particular, the journals were gathered that were written after the demonstration dealing with the change of gas volume by temperature in science class. After designing a noticing analysis frame consisting of the five dimensions 'agent', 'stage', 'topic', 'focus', and 'stance', the frequency and ratio of noticing by each dimension's components were derived. The frequency and ratio of noticing for the dimension of 'focus' were analyzed for the dimensions of 'stage' and 'topic'. The results of the study were as follows. For the dimension of 'agent', the frequency of teacher and student was the highest, and for the dimension of 'stage', inquiry activity was the highest. For the 'topic' dimension, class design according to the teaching strategy appeared most frequently, and in the 'focus' dimension, the cases that did not specify the goal of the class and the competencies to be achieved by the students appeared most frequently. In the 'stance' dimension, description showed the highest frequency. From the analysis of how the 'focus' changes according to the 'stage' and 'topic', it was found that a characteristic focus appeared for each component of the dimension. From these results, the implications of the noticing characteristics of pre-service teachers for the design and implementation of teacher education were discussed.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of chemistry program based on metacognitive learning strategies using realistic contents on prospective teachers' creative thinking skills and science core competencies, and their perception. In particular, it was intended to further improve the effectiveness of the program by introducing a strategy to strengthen metacognition. Participants were classified into the experimental group subject to the newly developed chemistry curriculum and traditional group subject to general programs that exclude realistic contents and metacognitive strategies. Both groups were surveyed before and after the application of the program to measure the degree of change in metacognitive competencies, creative thinking competencies, and science core competencies. It also analyzed the impact of metacognitive competencies and science core competencies on creativity thinking competencies. As a result of the study, relevance and rationality among sub-factors of metacognitive competencies and creative thinking competencies of the experimental group were improved, and all sub-factors except for scientific participation and lifelong learning ability among science core competencies were significantly improved. In addition, it was found that metacognitive knowledge among metacognitive competencies, scientific inquiry ability and scientific thinking ability among science core competencies affect creative thinking competencies. Through the results, it was suggested that realistic content that incorporates metacognitive learning strategies is needed to improve creative thinking competencies, and learning models and programs that can utilize them are needed.
This study aims to present implications for the appropriate establishment and development of a science-authorized textbook system through an understanding of the process of selecting science-authorized textbooks and analyzing the perception of teachers. Toward this end, this study conducted interviews with five elementary school teachers who participated in the science textbook selection process, surveys on 32 teachers, and analysis on the authors of the textbooks. The result demonstrated, first, that the "opinion gathering" stage was the most important one, and a council was formed in consideration of career and major. Moreover, the evaluation standard was reorganized and used according to the situation of the school. Second, in the process of opinion gathering, the teachers used a method for reviewing the entire textbook for each teacher. Inquiry activities and textbook composition (readability) were crucially considered as internal factors, and teaching and learning materials, such as videos, were deemed extremely important as external factors. The variable of the author, which is an indicator of the reliability and expertise of textbooks, was also recognized as vital. Third, the deliberation by the School Committee and the report by the principal were recognized as the administrative final step after selection. Finally, selecting the most suitable textbooks for each grade group was recognized as more important than arbitrarily unifying textbooks for the third and fourth grades and for the fifth and sixth grades.
This study developed a geological virtual reality-based field trip (VFT) to find an alternative to replace the actual field trip, which is often considered lightly by students owing to difficulties in the school. For this purpose, we selected a total of five geological learning sites that focus on the Mt. Jeoksang Muju-gun, Jeollabuk-do, Korea by evaluating the contents of the curriculum and the possibility of developing a VFT. The developed VFT provided middle-school students with an interactive space to observe and explore rocks and geological structures, including orbicular granite gneiss, tuff, conglomerate, sandstone, stratification, and joints. A semi-structured interview was conducted with the 1st-grade middle-school students to evaluate the educational value of the VFT. The responses of the students were analyzed using semantic network analysis to understand the significance of relationships between the reaction words. Results show that the students were able to sense reality through the VFT, which enabled them to understand and remember the characteristics of rocks. Therefore, students can indirectly have a sense of reality of an outdoor experience through the VFT program, which positively influences their learning. Our study shows that VFT can be effectively utilized as a meaningful learning resource in schools.
