  • 연료를 작동 유체의 내부 또는 외부에서 연소시켜서 발생된 고온 고압의 가스를 터빈에 공급하여 회전력을 발생시키는 원동기를 가스터빈이라 하며, 가스터빈을 이용한 발전기와 달리 기동 및 정지 시간이 대단히 짧고, 부하 변화에 대한 속응성이 뛰어나기 때문에 전력계통 운영상 양수 발전기나 수력 발전기와 더불어 첨두 부하용으로 주로 사용된다. 본 고에서는 전력 계통에 병렬 운전 중인 가스터빈 발전기의 부하가 탈락되어 입력 에너지가 과잉으로 되었을 때, 제어 시스템의 중요한 파라미터인 연료량과 가스터빈 속도 및 배기가스의 온도가 비상 정지 수준에 도달하지 않고 안전하게 운전될 수 있는지의 여부, 즉 안정성을 판별하기 위하여 수행한 모의 시험에 대하여 기술하였다. 또, 부하가 탈락되지 않고 입력되는 연료량이 크게 변동하는 경우, 즉 큰 부하 변동을 모의 시험한 내용에 대하여 기술하였다.

$SO_2$가 흰쥐 기관의 조직학적 구조 및 점액질에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구에서 $SO_2$ 폭로군에서 기관점막의 조직학적구조는 대조군에 비해 기관상피의 섬모세포의 섬모소실, 상피세포의 파괴, 탈락, 공포변성, 편평화 등이 관찰되었는데 섬모소실, 상피세포의 괴사 탈락, 공포변성은 그 정도와 범위는 $SO_2$의 농도와 폭로시간에 따라 다소 차이는 있었지만 모든 실험군에서 나타났으며 농도가 높아지고 폭로 시간이 길어질수록 더 심해지고 더 광범위하게 나타났으며 $SO_2$ 폭로군의 기관 점막의 배상세포의 중성점액질과 산성점액질 중 강 sulfomucin은 모든 $SO_2$ 폭로군에서 대조군에 비해 감소하는 경향을 나타내었으며 200ppm $SO_2$ 폭로군에서는 거의 소실되었으나 산성점액질 중 sialomucin은 200ppm $SO_2$ 폭로군을 제외한 실험군에서는 약간 증가하는 경향을 나타내었고 $SO_2$ 폭로가 기관 점막의 점액질의 성상에 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다.

A Study on the Academic Dropout of College Students (대학생의 중도탈락에 관한 연구(D대학 중심))

  • This study analyzed the status and causes for the dropouts of college based on the survey conducted among 14,210 freshmen attending D College, other than the supernumerary special selection, from 2001 through 2005. A significant difference was shown in all items of general characteristics. The dropout rate of women, generally selected and general highschool graduated were higher than for men, specially selected and special high school graduated, respectively. The most dropouts were due to Not Return(40.16%), followed by Unenrolled(32.98%), Voluntary Leave(26.05%) and Expelled(0.81%) in order. In the distribution of the central tendency values measured from the entire subjects, the high school records and the days of absence showed a positive skewness, while the college records showed a negative skewness with the data mostly around a higher grade. The standard deviation indicating that the dropouts got the scores higher than those of the continuing students demonstrated that there was relatively insignificant difference in scores between two groups. It was demonstrated that both the high school records and the days of absence affected the dropout. The lower the high school records were, and the more the days of absence were, the more influence both items had on the dropout. The influence degree of each item was similar. Lower the scores were in terms other than the first term in the freshmen year, the more influence it had on the dropout. The most dropouts were influenced by the scores of the freshmen year, followed by the credits of the second term, the scores of the first term, the scores of the second term, and the credits of the first term in the freshmen year. Among the general characteristic items, the most dropouts were influenced by the course of study, followed by the gender. The effect of other items was insignificant.

A Fault Dropping Technique with Fault Candidate Ordering and Test Pattern Ordering for Fast Fault Diagnosis (고속 고장 진단을 위해 고장 후보 정렬과 테스트 패턴 정렬을 이용한 고장 탈락 방법)

  • In order to reduce time-to-market, the demand for fast fault diagnosis has been increased. In this paper, a fault dropping technique with fault candidate ordering and test pattern ordering for fast fault diagnosis is proposed. Experimental results using the full-scanned ISCAS 89 benchmark circuits show the efficiency of the fault dropping technique with fault candidate ordering and test pattern ordering.

Implementation of a Machine Learning-based Recommender System for Preventing the University Students' Dropout (대학생 중도탈락 예방을 위한 기계 학습 기반 추천 시스템 구현 방안)

  • This study proposed an effective automatic classification technique to identify dropout patterns of university students, and based on this, an intelligent recommender system to prevent dropouts. To this end, 1) a data processing method to improve the performance of machine learning was proposed based on actual enrollment/dropout data of university students, and 2) performance comparison experiments were conducted using five types of machine learning algorithms. 3) As a result of the experiment, the proposed method showed superior performance in all algorithms compared to the baseline method. The precision rate of discrimination of enrolled students was measured to be up to 95.6% when using a Random Forest(RF), and the recall rate of dropout students was measured to be up to 80.0% when using Naive Bayes(NB). 4) Finally, based on the experimental results, a method for using a counseling recommender system to give priority to students who are likely to drop out was suggested. It was confirmed that reasonable decision-making can be conducted through convergence research that utilizes technologies in the IT field to solve the educational issues, and we plan to apply various artificial intelligence technologies through continuous research in the future.

  • 본 연구는 소속부 변경이 주가, 주가변동성 및 유동성에 미치는 영향을 최근 7년간의 표본을 이용하여 실증분석하였다. 이는 소속부 변경이 주식시장에 미치는 영향에 관한 최초의 연구로 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 시장 제1부로의 승격은 변경일 이전에 통계적으로 유의적인 양의 초과수익률을 야기시키며, 시장 제2부로의 탈락은 통계적으로는 비유의적이나 음의 초과수익률을 가져온다. 둘째, 소속부 변경 일을 전후로 한 주가변동성은 ARCH 및 GARCH 모형에 의해 설명될 수 있으며, 변경일 이전에 주가변동성은 증가하는 경향이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 세째, 유동성 측면에서는 시장 제1부 승격과 시장 제2부 탈락의 모든 경우에 있어서 변경전보다 변경후에 거래량이 감소함을 발견 하였다.

Performance Comparison of Machine Learning based Prediction Models for University Students Dropout (머신러닝 기반 대학생 중도 탈락 예측 모델의 성능 비교)

  • The increase in the dropout rate of college students nationwide has a serious negative impact on universities and society as well as individual students. In order to proactive identify students at risk of dropout, this study built a decision tree, random forest, logistic regression, and deep learning-based dropout prediction model using academic data that can be easily obtained from each university's academic management system. Their performances were subsequently analyzed and compared. The analysis revealed that while the logistic regression-based prediction model exhibited the highest recall rate, its f-1 value and ROC-AUC (Receiver Operating Characteristic - Area Under the Curve) value were comparatively lower. On the other hand, the random forest-based prediction model demonstrated superior performance across all other metrics except recall value. In addition, in order to assess model performance over distinct prediction periods, we divided these periods into short-term (within one semester), medium-term (within two semesters), and long-term (within three semesters). The results underscored that the long-term prediction yielded the highest predictive efficacy. Through this study, each university is expected to be able to identify students who are expected to be dropped out early, reduce the dropout rate through intensive management, and further contribute to the stabilization of university finances.

  • Mouthguards were used to protect boxers from lip lacerations and other soft tissue injuries in the late 19th century. Now they are used various parts of dental treatment, which are sports protective aid, bleaching tray, orthodontic retainer, implant insertion guide tray, splint and so on. Repeated dislodgement of Class V restoration due to habitual clenching stress should be restored with stress control. Mouthguard can be used as stress relief device. This case describes methods that can relieve occlusal force to teeth by using mouthguard. Satisfactory results can be obtained by using mouthguard for retention of repeated dislodgement Class V restorations. If patients suffered from repeated restorations of Class V due to clenching, mouthguard can be used additional device to relieve the occlusal stress in conservative dentistry.

Effects of 3-dimensional Co-culture of Human Endometrial Cells Decidualized with Progesterone and TGF-${\beta}1$ on the Development of Mouse 2-cell Embryos In Vitro (Progesterone과 TGF-${\beta}1$에 의해 탈락막화가 유도된 인간 자궁내막세포의 삼차원 공배양이 2-세포기 생쥐배아의 체외발달에 미치는 영향)

  • Objective: This study was carried out to investigate the effects of 3-dimensional co-culture of human endometrial cells decidualized with progesterone and TGF-${\beta}1$ on the development of 2-cell mouse embryos. Methods: Stromal and epithelial cells isolated from human endometrial tissue were immunostained for cytokeratin and vimentin. Expression of TGF-${\beta}1$, its receptor-1, -2, integrin-${\beta}3$ and prolactin in mono or co-culture according to three different hormone conditions was investigated by RT-PCR. Differential staining was used to investigate the number of ICM and trophectoderm of hatched mouse blastocysts in different three conditions. Results: The immunohistochemical study was positive for cytokeratin or vimentin and confirmed that epithelial and stromal cells were isolated from endometrial tissue successfully. In co-culture, TGF-${\beta}1$, its receptor-1, integrin-${\beta}3$ and prolactin except TGF-${\beta}1$-r2 were expressed in progesterone dominant condition. The hatching and attaching rate were higher in the co-culture with decidualized cells (p<0.05). However, we observed that lots of the incomplete hatched blactocysts attached on non-decidualized cells. The ICM number of hatched mouse blastocysts was higher in co-culture with decidualized and non decidualized cells than media only culture (p<0.05). The trophectoderm number of hatched blastocyst was higher in the co-culture with decidualized cells than non-decidualized cells or media only culture (p<0.05). Conclusion: The administration of progesterone, estrogen and TGF-$\beta$ could induce decidualization of stromal and epithelial cells isolated from human endometrial tissue using 3-dimensional co-culture, and the decidualization of human endometrial cells could increase the hatching and attaching rate of 2-cell mouse embryos.

In Vitro Regulation of DOC-1 Gene Expression in Uterine Endometrial Cells (체외 배양된 자궁내막세포에서의 DOC-1 유전자의 발현 조절)

  • Implantation of blastocyst into the uterine endometrium is established by the existence of histologically and functionally prepared uterine endometrium. Doc-1, an oral cancer suppressor gene, is expressed under the control of steroid hormones and has been suggested as a proliferation regulator of endometrial cells. However, the role is not much clear and in this study we examined the expression modulation of Doc-1 in decidualizing cells in vitro. In vitro decidualization was performed in endometrial stroma cells using progesterone and estrogen. Until 24 hr after decidual induction the proliferation of stroma cell was significantly increased but decreased after then. On the other hand, most of the cells differentiated into decidual cell after 48 hr of induction. The Doc-1 protein was co-localized in a specific deciudal cells and colocalization rate was increased in a parallel manner with the induction time. Based on these results, it is suggested that Doc-1 expression is under the control of both steroid hormones and decidual signals, and Doc-1 protein is involved in suppression of the proliferation of decidualizing cells.
