Determination of Dynamic Free Span Length for Subsea Pipelines with General Boundary Conditions (일반화된 경계조건을 갖는 해저파이프라인의 동적 자유경간 결정 방법)

  • Subsets pipelines are exposed to several potential risks of damage due to corrosion, soil instability, anchor impact and other hazards. One of the main risk factors for the safety of a subsea pipeline is its free spanning. This paper examines the safety of subsea pipelines with free span under axial compressive load. The variation of allowable lengths of dynamic free span is examined for generalized boundary conditions. The free span is modelled as a beam with an elastic foundations and the boundary condition is replaced by linear and rotational springs at each end. A dynamic free span curve is obtained with a function of non-dimensional parameters and can be used usefully for the design of subsea pipelines with a free span. A case study is carried out to introduce the application method of the curve.

Influence of Elastic Restraints and Tip Mass at Free End on stability of Leipholz Column (Leipholz 기둥의 안정성에 미치는 자유단의 탄성구속과 말단질량의 영향)

  • An analysis is presented on the stability of elastic cantilever column subjected to uniformly distributed follower forces as to the influence of the elastic restraints and a tip mass at the free end. The elastic restraints are formed by both the translational and the rotatory springs. For this purpose, the governing equations and boundary conditions are derived by using Hamilton's principle, and the critical flutter loads and frequencies are obtained from the numerical evaluation of the eigenvalue functions of this elastic system. The added tip mass increases as a whole the critical flutter load in this system, but the presence of its moment of inertia of mass has a destabilizing effect. The existence of the translational and rotatory spring at the free end increases the critical flutter load of the elastic cantilever column. Nevertheless their effects on the critical flutter load are not uniform because of their coupling. The translational spring restraining the end of cantilever column decreases the critical flutter load by coupling with a large value of tip mass, while by coupling with the moment of inertia of tip mass its effect on the critical flutter load is contrary. The rotatory spring restraining the free end of cantilever column increases the critical flutter load by coupling with the tip mass, but decreases it by coupling with the moment of inertia of tip mass.

  • Flexural properties and thermal stability have been studied as a function of blend composition in bifunctional DGERA (diglycidyl ether of hisphenol A)/tetrafunctional TGDDM(tetrag1ycidyl diamino diphenyl methane) cured with DDM(4, 4'-diamino diphenyl methane). The flexural modulus and the glass transition temperature increase with an increase of TGDDM and show discontinuous dependence on blend composition around the composition range of 80/20~60/40(L)GEBA/TGDDM). This can be explained with a structural phase inversion (ductile-to-brittle) in crosslinking networks. With increasing TGDDM, the maximum decomposition temperature(Ts) increases, whereas the activation energy during thermal degradation decreases.

$BaSO_4$ 첨가량에 따른 PET 직물 태에 미치는 영향

  • 레이온 섬유는 dry한 촉감, 고광택, 드레이프성 등 의류 분야에서 요구하는 많은 장점들을 가지고 있으나 타 섬유 소재에 비해 소비량이 적은 것은 합섬이나 면/울 제품에 비해 상대적으로 제품 가격이 높고, 형태안정성이 취약하여 정장 및 캐주얼의 겉감 용도로 쓰기에는 성능 보완이 필요하다. 또한 염색가공 공정에서 구김발생이 많으며, 열고정이 쉽게 이루어지지 않아 습윤강도와 탄성 회복률이 낮아 변형이 쉽게 발생된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 합섬의 장점을 그대로 유지하면서 레이온 섬유가 갖는 고비중과 우수한 드레이프성과 유연한 질감으로 소프트 터치를 발현하는 특수한 레이온 대체 소재를 실현하고자 하였다. 직물에서 드레이프성과 은은한 광택을 확보하기 위해서는 폴리머단계에서 비중과 광택을 발현할 수 있는 무기입자 중 비중이 높고, 중합 후 폴리머 내에서 광택을 유지하는 입자의 선택이 필요한데 본 실험에서는 $BaSO_4$를 이용하여 PET dope액과 중합한 후 용융 방사하여 고비중 폴리에스테르사(100/48)를 제조하였다. 고비중 폴리에스테르사를 이용하여 폭 58inch, 밀도 92T, 중량 324.8g/yd 직물로 제직하여 그에 따른 태를 측정하였다. 태측정기(KES-FB, KATO TECH CO)를 이용하여 인장 & 전단강도, 굽힘강도, 압축강도, 표면측정 시험 결과 $BaSO_4$ 2% 첨가한 원단의 드레이프성이 우수한 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Stress Distribution Under Line Load in Transversely Isotropic Rock Mass (평면이방성 암반에서 선하중에 의한 응력분포 특성)

  • Many mechanical defects originated from various geological causes make rock mass exhibit anisotropic characteristics. Understanding how the stress distribution occurs in anisotropic rock mass is, therefore, very important for the design of footings on rock and rock structures. In this study, the patterns of elastic stress distribution, developed by acting line load on the surface, in transversely isotropic was investigated. The influence of joint stiffness, joint spacing, and dip angle on the stress distribution was examined. By assuming the Mohr-Coulomb criterion as joint slip condition, the development of joint slip zone was also discussed.

  • 철근콘크리트 뼈대구조와 같이 설계변수가 과다하고, 제약조건식이 복잡한 구조물의 최적화를 위하여는 구조물을 여러개의 부분구조물로 분할하여 최적해를 구하는 분할법이 많이 사용되고 있다. 그러나 기존의 분할법에 의한 최적화는 구조해석과정과 고정된 부재력에대한 단면설계변수의 부분최적화 과정만으로 이루어지기 때문에, 최적해를 구하려면 반복적인 재해석과정만을 수행하지 않으면 안된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다단계분할법에 의하여 철근콘크리트 뼈대구조의 최적화 문제를 3단계로 형성하고, 분할된 부분최적화문제의 최적화시 전체구조의 강성 및 부재력 변화가 반영되어 부분 구조물의 결합을 유지시킬 수 있는 최적화 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 최적화 문제에서 설계변수로는 단면의 크기, 철근량, 모멘트 재분배율등을 취하고,목적함수는 경비함수, 제약조건으로는 강도설계법에 의한 부재강도, 시방서의 요구사항등을 고려하여 문제를 형성하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 다단계 최적화과정의 첫째 단계에서는 탄성해석에 의하여 재분배모멘트의 설계공간을 형성한다. 이 때 부재력변화량추정(forece approximation technique)에 의하여 단면치수의 변화에 따른 부재력의 변화를 제약조건식 내에 포함시킬 수 있도록 하였다. 둘째 단면에서는 첫째 단계에서 구한 부재력변화량추정이 포함된 제약조건식 내에서 무제약최소화기법에 의하여 단면치수를 최적화하도록 하였다. 셋째 단계에서는 재분배 모멘트를 최적화하였으며, 이 때 재분배모멘트의 변화에 따른 단면설계 변수의 변화는 둘째 단계에서 구한 설계민감도(design sensitivity)를 이용하여 반영시키도록 하였다. 제안된 알고리즘을 1층 2경간 및 2층 1경간 뼈대구조에 적용하여 알고리즘의 타당성과 효율성을 입증하였다. 따라서 본 연구의 알고리즘은 철근 콘크리트 뼈대구조의 최적설계에 안정성있게 적용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

A Theoretical and Numerical Study on the Effects of Prereinforcement of Tunnel Face (터널막장 선행보강 효과에 관한 이론적.수치해석적 연구)

  • Horizontal tunnel face reinforcement using Fiber Glass Tube(FGT) or steel pipe and pipe roofing techniques are frequently used when the stability of newly excavated tunnel is not guaranteed. However, the mechanical behavior of tunnels using these techniques has not been fully understood so far. Therefore, engineering rule of thumb is commonly applied during designing procedure, and it is difficult to adopt these techniques rationally. In this study, the application of a simplified numerical analysis method based on composite mechanics is verified. The mean field theory and the strain energy theory are used to obtain the equivalence elastic moduli of reinforced soil and rock. Furthermore, a parametric study on the deformational behavior of tunnel face is performed for various patterns of prereinforcement.

  • The principal operation of a ring laser gyroscope depends on the phase difference for the counter-propagating waves within a closed path. The reflection mirrors mounted on the resonator block form the traveling waves. Thus, the dimension accuracy of resonator block influences the traveling path of beam. In order to maintain the stable optical beam path in the ring resonator, the piezo-driven moveable mirror is adopted for the path length control under the thermal expansion or mechanical strain of resonator block. This paper presents the mathematical description of the elastic behavior of piezo-driven mirror. This description can be applied for the concept design of piezo-driven mirror.

Structural analysis of liquid rocket thrust chamber regenerative cooling channel using visco-plastic model (점소성 모델을 이용한 액체로켓 연소기 재생냉각 채널 구조해석)

  • Elastic-viscoplastic structural analysis is performed for regenerative cooling chamber of liquid rocket thrust chamber using Bodner-Partom visco-plastic model. Strain rate test was also conducted for a copper alloy at various temperatures in order to get material constants of visco-plastic model used in the structural analysis. Material constants of visco-plastic model were obtained from strain rate test results and visco-plsstic model was incorporated into finite element program, Marc, by means of user subroutine. The structural analysis results indicate that the deformation of cooling channel is mostly caused by thermal loading rather than pressure loading and confirmed structural stability of the cooling channel under operating condition.
