This study is about a technique for obtaining collagen by extracting fat by treating collagen-containing liposuction effluent in the presence of supercritical fluid. Using a supercritical solvent, a collagen extract could be obtained from animal-derived fat in a short time (about 6 hours), and about 2-3% of collagen by mass compared to the raw material could be obtained. The presence of collagen in the extract obtained by supercritical extraction was confirmed by SDS-PAGE, and it was confirmed that it was type 1 collagen having a relatively large molecular weight. In addition, the growth factors of IGF-1, bFGF, VEGF and NGF were analyzed to find out which growth factors were present in the collagen obtained by supercritical extraction, and it was found that these growth factors were contained in the extract. There was no significant difference in DNA content per mg of sample before and after supercritical treatment. Further in-depth studies are likely to be needed on decellularization technology using the supercritical process. In conclusion, the extracellular matrix obtained through the solvent extraction process using a supercritical fluid contains growth factors above a certain amount even after decellularization and removal of fat, so that it was found that not only biocompatibility is greatly increased, but also tissue regeneration can be rapidly induced.
This study seeks to develop a stretch sensor for measuring the wrist movements of people using fishing lures. In order to confirm wrist movement, a stretch sensor was attached to the wrist band, and measurements of the dorsiflexion, plantar flexion, and fishing landing motion were measured using a scale to gauge factor, tensile strength, and elongation recovery rate. A conductive sensor using CNT dispersion was developed and applied to the E-band under the same conditions. A total of 15 sensors of the same size and five types of impregnation once, twice, and three times each were used to measure the gauge factor using UTM. The sensor that was impregnated twice had the best gauge rate, and the prototypes were manufactured with three sensors with high gauge rates and tensile strength. The results of the operation test conducted by connecting to the Arduino showed that Sample 1, which had the highest tensile strength and gauge factor, had a stable graph wavelength in three operations. Samples 2 and 3 showed stable wavelengths in the dorsiflexion and the plantar flexion; however, signal noise appeared in the fishing landing motion. This showed stable wavelengths in the two motions, but the wavelengths of the graphs differ depending on the tensile strength and gauge factor in the fishing landing motion. As a result, it was possible to identify the conditions necessary for manufacturing a stretch sensor for measuring wrist movement. This study will contribute to the development of smart wearable products for lure fishing.

In constructing a slurry trench cutoff wall, bentonite-water slurry is used to secure the stability of sidewalls during excavation before the wall is completed by backfilling. Unexpectedly, a thin but relatively impermeable layer called filter cake can be formed on the excavation surface, which significantly influences the result of slug test analysis in the cutoff wall if not considered. This study is to examine the effect of filter cake on evaluating hydraulic conductivity of the vertical cutoff wall through slug test analysis with the aid of the verified numerical program Slug_3D. The no-flux boundary conditions were adopted in Slug_3D to simulate the filter cake on the interface between the wall and the natural soil. A new set of type curves were built for applying the type curve method. New modification factors were obtained for using the modified line-fitting method. With consideration of filter cake, the type curve method and the modified line-fitting method were adopted to reanalyze the case study taken from EMCON (1995). The previous results achieved by Choi and Daniel (2006) without consideration of filter cake were compared with the present results obtained in this paper. The comparison emphasizes the necessity of considering filter cake when analyzing slug test results in vertical cutoff walls.

We design and fabricate the 94 GHz Coplanar waveguide(CPW)-to-rectangular waveguide transition that is transmits signal smoothly between the CPW, which is a popular transmission line of the planar circuits, and rectangular waveguide for the 94 GHz transceiver system. The proposed transition composed of the unilateral fin-line taper and open type CPW-to-slot-line transition is based on the hard and inflexible sapphire for the flip-chip bonding of the planar MMICs using conventional MMIC technology. We optimize a single section transition to achieve low loss by using an EM field solver of Ansoft's HFSS and fabricate the back- to-back transition that is measured by Anritsu ME7808A Vector Network Analyzer in a frequency range of $85{\sim}105$ GHz. From the measurement and do-embedding CPW with 3 mm length, an insertion and return loss of a single-section transition are 1.7 dB and more an 25 than at 94 GHz, respectively.

In this paper, we propose a fabrication technique for enhanced electrical properties of piezoelectric thick films with excellent patterning property using sol-infiltration and a direct-patterning process. To achieve the needs of high-density and direct-patterning at a low sintering temperature (< $850^{\circ}C$), a photosensitive lead zirconate titanate (PZT) solution was infiltrated into a screen-printed thick film. The direct-patterned PZT films were clearly formed on a locally screen-printed thick film, using a photomask and UV light. Because UV light is scattered in the screen-printed thick film of a porous powder-based structure, there are needs to optimize the photosensitive PZT sol infiltration process for obtaining the enhanced properties of PZT thick film. By optimizing the concentration of the photosensitive PZT sol, UV irradiation time, and solvent developing time, the hybrid films prepared with 0.35 M of PZT sol, 4 min of UV irradiation and 15 sec solvent developing time, showed a very dense with a large grain size at a low sintering temperature of $800^{\circ}C$. It also illustrated enhanced electrical properties (remnant polarization, $P_r$, and coercive field, $E_c$). The $P_r$ value was over four times higher than those of the screen-printed films. These films integrated on silicon wafer substrate could give a potential of applications in micro-sensors and -actuators.
The casinos and gaming sector consists of all forms of betting, including commercial, state-run, and charitable operations. The casinos segment comprises gambling in casinos, and includes gaming machine gambling where this occurs on casino premises. The gaming segment covers all other forms of gambling, including national and other lotteries, racing and sports betting, bingo, pachinko, and gaming machines where these are not located on casino premises. All values are stated in terms of gross gaming win. This is the total amount waged by customers minus the total amount paid out to customers as winnings, but before the payment of any applicable taxes, disbursements to charitable or other causes by games established for those purposes, or other expenses. The South American casinos & gaming sector posted strong growth in 2009 and this growth is expected to accelerate during the forecast period. The South American casinos & gaming sector generated total revenues of $9.6 billion in 2009, representing a compound annual growth rate(CAGR) of 15% for the period spanning 2005-2009. In comparison, the Argentinian and Chilian sectors grew with CAGRs of 17% and 21.9% respectively, over the same period, to reach respective values of $2.2 billion and $93.7 million in 2009. The other gaming segment was the sector's most lucrative in 2009, generating total revenues of $7.1billion, equivalent to 74.1% of the sector's overall value. The casino segment contributed revenues of $2.5billion in 2009, equating to 25.9% of the sector's aggregate revenues. The performance of the sector is forecast to accelerate, with an anticipated CAGR of 20.4% for the five year period 2009-2014, which is expected to drive the sector to a value of $24.3 billion by the end of 2014. Comparatively, the Argentinian and Chilian sectors will grow with CAGRs of 10.2% and 7.3% respectively, over the same period, to reach respective values of $3.6 billion and $133.6 million in 2014.
Anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum orbiculare, induces severe damage to cucurbits worldwide. Resistance of 112 commercial cultivars of cucurbits to C. orbiculare was evaluated. Seedlings of each cultivar at 2- to 3-leaf stage were inoculated with C. orbiculare KACC 40809 by spraying spore suspension of the fungus at a concentration of $4.0{\times}10^5$ spores/mL. Among the 36 cultivars of cucumber, 'Asiastrike', 'Tongilbaedadagi', 'Daeseon', 'Cheongrokmatjjang', 'Nokyacheongcheong', and 'Asianogak' were moderately resistant and the others were susceptible. All the tested cultivars of melon (33) and watermelon (4) showed highly susceptible response to C. orbiculare. On the other hand, the squash cultivars (17) represented less susceptibility to the fungus than the other cucurbits. Of the squash cultivars, 'Gammirak' and 'Teotbat' were resistant and 12 cultivars were moderately resistant. Among the rootstocks for cucurbits, ten cultivars including 'JjeuyakaEX', 'Nunbusyeo', 'Union', 'RS111', 'Ganggeuntoza', 'Hwangjaetoza', 'NO.8', 'Shintoza', 'Bulpaetoza', and 'Newtype' showed high resistance to the anthracnose pathogen. From the results, the resistant cultivars could be used as sources of resistance to cucurbits anthracnose (C. orbiculare) in the future breeding programs.

This paper introduces a measurement system for mechanical properties of sport shoes using an industrial robot. The robot system used in this paper is a commercial Puma type robot system(FARA AT2 made by SAMSUNG Electronics) with 6 joints and the end-effector is modified to produce a human walking motion. After analyzing human walking with a high speed video camera, each joint angle of the robot system is extracted to be used in the robot system. By using this system, ground impact forces were measured during stepping motion with 3 different shoe specimens made of 3 different hardness outsoles, respectively. As other mechanical properties, both bending moments to bend the toe part of the same specimen shoes and pronation quantities during walking motion were measured as well. In the impact test with the same depth of deformation under the ground level, the effect of the outsole hardness was clearly appeared such that the harder outsole produces the higher ground reaction force. The bending test and the pronation test also show proportional increments in the bending stiffness and the moment Mx according to the outsole hardness. Throughout such experiments, the robot system has produced consistent results so that the system could be used in obtaining valuable informations for a shoe designing process.
Here we present the timings of reactivated events from a fault in the northern Pohang area, which should be located at the northern-end of Yangsan fault line, the major fault in the southeastern Korean Peninsula. Recently developed illite-age-analysis (IAA) approach was employed for determining the fault-activated timing, combined with illite-polytype quantification using the optimized full-pattern-fitting (FPF) method, and K-Ar age-dating for each size fraction($<0.1{\mu}m$, $0.1-0.4{\mu}m$, and $0.4-1.0{\mu}m$) of 4 fault clay samples. Two chronological records of brittle fault-activation events were recognized at $19.6{\pm}1.86Ma$ and $26.1{\pm}2.55-27.9{\pm}3.46Ma$. The ages are much younger than those of fault clays from Sangcheon-ri area (41.5~43.5 and 50.7 Ma), the southern part of Yangsan fault line, and are close to the timing of East Sea-opening event. Further chronological analysis for additional sites of the Yangsan fault should be needed to reveal the time-scheme of the tectonic events and their spatial distributions along the fault line.
This paper suggests prototype of dialog system combining VXML(VoiceXML) that is the W3C's standard XML format for specifying interactive voice dialogues between human and computer, and RSS(RDF Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication) that is representative technology of semantic web for syndication and subscription of updated web-contents. Merits of the proposed system are as following: 1) It is a new method that recognize spoken contents using ire and wireless telephone networks and then provide contents to user via STT(Speech-to-Text) and TTS(Text-to-Speech) instead of traditional method using web only. 2) It can apply advantage of RSS that subscription of updated contents is converted to VXML without modifying traditional method to provide RSS service, 3) In terms of users, it can reduce restriction on time-spate in search of contents that is provided by RSS because it uses ire and wireless telephone networks, not internet environment. 4) In terms of information provider, it does not need special component for syndication of the newest contents using speech recognition and synthesis technology. We implemented a news service system using VXML and RSS for performance evaluation of the proposed system. In experiment results, we estimated the response time and the speech recognition rate in subscription and search of actuality contents, and confirmed that the proposed system can provide contents those are provided using RSS Feed.
