  • It is required to processing hierarchically of the quality management which can enhancing organizational competitiveness through a improvement continuously of quality and production of service is give a satisfaction to customer's needs for quality. So, KISTI was the first to certificated for ISO 9001 quality system in information distribution. As a result, business of contents distribution(collection - analysis - processing - loading - establishment - service) is define definitely, through an establishment of standard format to standardization of business process. And it can be managed to risk through a analysis and derive a risk factor during business processing.

  • The exponential increase of digital contents brought about the e-Challenge crisis to the librarians. How can all the e-resources be managed effectively? How can we detect all the broken links? How can we assist the users to the right resources? This paper concentrates on building CLICK(Cooperative Link Center in KOREA) as a knowledge compass by collecting diverse science & technology information and creating tight coupled links between information resources for reference linking and providing users with the optimal route for the resource per user. If the publishers, Abstract & Index DB, Searching Portal, Electronic Libraries, Full-text DB and Aggregator can be linked by using a standardized way through a CLICK, the service channels can be diversified. Users can select the channels without rein under according to a use purpose and conditions.

  • Library 2.0 stands for the term which suggests the changes in library's services. Library 2.0, the term, was first appeared in 2005 and have studied as a meaningful model for library services. The majority was related to the definition of basic concepts, overview of best practices, and case study for individual implementation. There are three goals of this study which is distinguished from other library 2.0 studies. First, I have surveyed various types of services and classified into three groups. Second, I have examined the properties viewed in this light of content, user, and manager. Third, I have propose a new conceptual model of a information ecosystem which thinks the library 2.0 collectively.

  • As the need for immediate access to the required information has increased in today's busy daily life, information service providers' capability of providing service whenever and wherever possible has become a critical element of improving service quality. Naturally, the demand and supply for mobile information service has rapidly increased since it is an ultimate option of satisfying information needs without temporal and special constraints. This paper examines the issues of system implementation and information service provision using mobile communication network and mobile handset as a tool of information access. First, it examines overall conditions of mobile information service environment, and then explores the general components required for the implementation of mobile information service, including contents, network, platform, and use environment.

  • With the advancement of internet and video compression technology, there has been an increasing demand for video, and producted a large quantity contents of UCC. Therefore, Semantic-sensitive retrieval and construction for digital video library is more in demand than ever. However, it is extremely difficult to categorize and label scenes in any video automatically for searching wanted scene. This study proposes a method to extract certain scenes and analyze the video content, and shows the experimental results after categorizing 5 sports news(soccer, baseball, golf, basketball, and volleyball).

  • This study has surveyed the professors and graduate students of school of medicine at K university, to analyze the medical library users' service quality perceptions on electronic journals and their effects on the customer satisfaction. Two groups of faculty members and graduate students has statistically significant different perceptions on the service quality of electronic journals. Among four sub-dimensions of service quality, there are no statistically significant differences in the perceptions between two groups in convenience of use, accessability, and content resources, but there is significant differences in supportiveness between two groups. In the perceptions on the satisfaction and value, faculty group has significantly higher perceptions on both of them. The most influential dimension of the service quality of the electronic journal for the perception on the satisfaction is supportiveness followed by convenience of use and content resources. Moderating effect of value on service quality, its sub-dimensions, and satisfaction is not proved statistically.

  • Modern networks consisting of various heterogeneous equipment are often installed in a distributed manner. Thus the NETCONF standard was established to manage networks centrally and efficiently. In this paper, we present a method that integrates each NETCONF layer into a single system based on the results of previous studies. In the RPC Layer, an asynchronous communication channel and parallel processes are possible using multi-threading. In the Operation Layer, operational efficiency is increased by using a data group with dependencies between the equipment configuration data and by improving the data structure, enabling efficiently processing of XML queries even with multiple managers. The data modeling techniques and grouping methods in the Content Layer are presented in detail for interoperability between the Operation Layer and the Content Layer. Finally, the GUI program was implemented and its implementation is reported. We performed an experiment comparing the improved NETCONF with the standard NETCONF to measure factors, such as query processing ratio, query processing speed, and CPU utilization. The improved NETCONF demonstrated excellent query processing ratio and query processing speed, whereas the standard NETCONF had excellent CPU utilization.

  • As the information technology is evolved and the human genome project is finalized over the world, the Bioinformatics - the integration of abundant Biological science and information technology - has shown up and is continuously being advanced. Together with the evolution of Bioinformatics, the websites dealing with Bioinformation have been set up to provide relevant information to the Bioscientists. Among the numerous global websites, the preferred websites by the majority of domestic Bioscientists are BRIC (Biological Research Information Center) of POSTECH(Pohang University of Science and Technology) in Korea, CCBB(Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics) of KISTI(Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information), KOBIC(Korean Bioinformation Center) of KRIBB(Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology), NCBI(National Center for Biotechnology Information) in USA, EBI(European Bioinformatics Institute) in Europe and DDBJ(DNA Data Bank of Japan) in Japan. In this paper, the comparative analysis was executed by investigating contents status and functions of the above-mentioned 6 websites. In addition, questionnaire survey of Bioscience Researchers' utilization status and their needs to those 6 websites was conducted.
