인터넷의 확산과 IT의 혁신으로 인하여 Digital Item(이하 DI)의 종류와 양은 기하급수적으로 증가하고 있으며 DI를 실행시키는 application 역시 양적인 측면이 증가하고 있다. DI와 관련된 이해관계자인 제작자, 저작권자, 공급자, 최종 사용자간에는 저작권 관련 문제들이 발생하고 있으며 이를 위한 표준화 활동 또한 활발히 진행되고 있으며 본 논문은 표준화 제정에 관한 MPEG 표준기구의 활동을 이해하고 최근 진행되고 있는 MPEG-21 Part4 IPMP 표준화 논의에 최종적으로 도출될 결과물들을 예상하여 그 수준을 평가할 수 있는 상위참조모델을 제시한다.

MPEG-21 에서 정의된 멀티미디어 프레임워크 하에서 디지털아이템(Digital Item)이 이용자(User) 상호간에 교환되어지고 이용되어지는 상황이 MPEG-21 이 추구하는 궁극적인 목표이다. 이러한 디지털 아이템의 교환과 이용은 IPMP(Intellectual Property Management and Protection), 콘텐츠 취급과 이용, 사건보고(Event Reporting), 효율적인 망과 단말 자원 관리 둥 다양하고 복잡한 활동들을 수반하며 디지털 아이템의 식별과 관련 정보 기술(Description)을 바탕으로 이런 활동들을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG-21의 세 번째 부분인 디지털 아이템 식별(Digital Item Identification)의 일반적인 내용과 DⅡ RA(Registration Authority)에 대해 설명하고 타 식별체계 및 메타데이타 표준과의 관계와 응용분야에 대해에 대해 소개한다. 그리고 DⅡ의 개념을 이용한 식별시스템의 구성과 구축 방법에 대해 논의한다.

인터넷상에 존재하는 네트워크 자원이 급증하면서 이들 자원을 식별. 기술하는 메타데이터도 여러 가지 다른 형식으로 개발 및 이용되고 있다. 따라서 독립적으로 운용되는 메타데이터간의 상호호환성을 높이기 위한 메타데이터 연결이나 통합 구조가 요구된다. 이러한 통합 구조의 논의는 DC의 제2차 워크숍에서 제안돼 WF(Warwick Framework)에서 시작되어 RDF(Resource Description Framework)로 이어지고 있다.

과학적 논문의 기초가 되는 과학 데이터들은 국가 차원에서 체계적으로 관리가 되지 않아 원활하게 유통 및 재활용이 되지 않고 있으며 논문 원문과 데이터들이 서로 연계, 통합되지 않아서 과학 데이터의 유통이 더욱 어려워지고 있다. 이 연구에서는 유통 측면에서 과학 논문과 데이터를 비교하고 연계, 통합을 위한 영구식별자의 도입 및 제도적 측면에서 데이터 기탁 및 데이터 리파지토리의 활성화 방안에 대해 논의한다.

Composite and compact devices equipped with the functionality of digital still image acquisition, such as cellular phones and MP3 players are widely available to common users. In addition, the application of digital still images is becoming common among security and digital recording devices. The amount of still images, that are maintained or shared in personal storage or massive storage provided by various web services, are rapidly increasing. These still images are bound with file names or identifiers that are provided arbitrarily by users or that are generated from device specific naming method. However, those identifiers are vulnerable for unexpected changing or eliminating so that it becomes a problem in still image search or management. In this paper, we propose a method for still image identifier generation that is created from the still image internal information.

SICI(Serial Item and Contribution Identifier) is intended primarily for use by those involved in the use or management of serial titles and their contributions. And SICI is a standard that is developed for interoperability and electronic data exchange because of increasing need of the unique resource identifier. This paper introduces metadata standard ANSI/NISO Z39.56 that relates serials management. And it examines applications and implementations of Z39.56 toward serials management.

National R&D Projects provide the central axis to weave the valuable information derived from variable projects and their participants. Thus to efficiently manage and utilize the National R&D information, the project-oriented management system has to be established and its information must to be articulated with each other. Using the connected relations the system can provide an efficient way to easily gain and share the information. To do this the National R&D information management systems and the identifier management system must to be builded and the common services and functions connecting the systems have to be provided. On this study, by defining these constituents and their relationships we're going to establish the base of promotion of National R&D Information utilization.

본 연구의 목적은 전자식별 체계를 식품인증에 적용해 농식품의 안전성, 기능성을 인증하고 농식품 품질인증 마크와 연동한 효과적인 식품인증 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 또한 전자인증 기술을 활용해 농식품 품질을 손쉽게 확인하고, 주요 식품정보를 언제, 어디서나 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 최근 모바일 기술을 활용한 QR코드 기반의 전자인증이 여러 사업 분야에서 사용되고 있는데, 이를 식품인증에 적용하여 식품인증의 효과성, 효율성, 편의성을 증진시킬 것으로 기대한다. 또한, 본 연구를 통하여 물류, 제조, 생산, 유통 산업에서 활용하고 있는 전자인증 체계(RFID, 바코드, QR코드 등)를 식품인증에 적용하여 식품상품의 정보를 손쉽게 확인하고 식품 정보조회를 통해 식품 품질을 검사하는데 사용할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

The field of automatic identification using RF is the one of the emerging ubiquitous computing areas. Early RFID techniques was focused on hardware areas, but RFID middleware has recently gained a lot of attention, which collects and filters tag data, and provides it to enterprise applications. The RFID middleware proposed by EPCglobal only can process EPC tag data, and cannot handle the KKR code which is defined by korean organization. So in this paper, we propose a method which can process the KKR code in RFID middleware systems. Using our approach, the RFID middleware can be extended as general ubiquitous middleware systems which process not only EPC code but also KKR code.

MPEG-21 환경에서의 DI(Digital Item)은 MPEG-21 프레임워크 내에서 표준화된 표현 형식, 식별 체계, 서술 형식을 따르는 구조화된 디지털 객체이며, 유통, 처리의 최소 단위이다 따라서. 이러한 DI가 MPEG-21 멀티미디어 프레임워크 환경에서 사용자 터미널에 전달되었을 때 어떻게 처리되어야 될 것인지를 규정하는 것은 매우 중요한 과제이며. 이와 관련한 기술이 DIP(Digital Item Processing)이다. 본 논문에서는 DIP의 한 응용 예로서 멀티미디어 콘텐츠를 계층적으로 기술하는 Video Summary의 응용 방안에 대한 연구 결과를 제시하고자 한다.
