  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of lecture content on the overall academic satisfaction in non-contact online classes. The study was conducted using an online survey of 107 university students attending metropolitan, local and foreign universities for a week from August 25th, 2020 to September 2nd, 2020. The analysis methods used included descriptive statistics and chi-square distribution, Fisher's exact test, linear by linear association, and logistic regression. The result of the study showed a significant decrease in Junior by 0.025 times compared to Senior (p<.05). Furthermore, a significant decrease in the impact of recorded lectures by 0.036 times compared to a hybrid of face-to-face and online lectures (p<.05). Compared to the response 'No', the number of student's responses of 'Yes' increased significantly by 31.358 times (p<.05). Additionally, a significant increase was seen in teaching methods by 19.709 times, and academic satisfaction by 7.989 times(p<.05). In conclusion, the results imply that the quality of lecture content is also important to improve the student's satisfaction with school life, but overall management is required in the areas of appropriate teaching methods, appropriate tuition, and evaluation methods.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify whether there is a mediating effect of social integration in the relationship between the elderly's change of life and satisfaction of care service through the 'Donation Bank of Social Contribution Activities'. The ultimate aim is to improve social values and the quality of life of the senior citizens. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, a survey was conducted focusing on senior citizens using care services from 50 institutions performing Care Bank activities and data of 434 people were finally used for analysis. For the analysis method, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were applied by using SPSS 25 package program. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the life changes of caring elderly had a significant effect on satisfaction of care service. In addition, the social integration had a statistically significant mediating effect on the relationship between the elderly's change of life and satisfaction with care service. Based on these findings, practical and policy alternatives were discussed to improve the quality of life of senior citizens, and to enhance social integration and satisfaction with care services.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of human, social and cultural capital and ecological variables on volunteering among older adults. In this study, three variables of education, income and physical health were examined as human capital factors, two variables of formal and informal interaction as social capital factors, three variables of religion, cultural organization participation and quality of life as cultural capital factors, and three variables of existence of spouse, housing tenure and residence area as ecological factors. In addition, two variables of volunteering participation and continuous volunteering participation intention were considered as dependent variables. For this study, "Senior Job Replacement Project Participants" data collected by the Korea Labor Force Development Institute for the Aged were used and analyzed employing logistic regression analysis technique. This study found that three human capital variables(education, income, physical health) had positive effects on volunteering participation and continuous participation intention among older adults; of the two social capital variables, informal interaction had a positive effect on both volunteering participation and continuous participation intention, whereas formal interaction had a positive effect only on continuous participation intention; three cultural capital variables(religion, cultural organization participation, quality of life) had positive effects on both volunteering participation and continuous participation intention; and of three ecological variables, housing tenure and residence area had positive effects on volunteering participation and continuous participation intention, whereas existence of spouse had no significant effects on dependent variables.

  • In 2007, Long-Term Care Insurance Law was enacted to share the family burden of caring for the elderly who are unable to perform every day living activities due to their old age and chronic diseases such as senile dementia, diabetes mellitus, stroke and more. Backed by this law, since 2008, care workers have been sent to the elderly care centers or each elder's home to help them not only with their recovery from illnesses, but also with general activities from dressing, eating, bathing, walking even to toileting. However, according to the recently released survey by National Human Rights Commission, it has been found that the caring workers are in a very poor working condition including low income, abused blanket wage system, shortage of welfare services, extra works and even sexual harrassment. It is becoming an important issue due to fast-ageing population, the fact that the care workers have had experiences of violation in their right of labor while they are at work needs to be carefully treated. In that sense, this article presents some difficulties the caring workers face and proposes effective ways to solve these problems through the perspective of human rights and human labor rights based on the report written by National Human Rights Commission. In short, for this law to function properly and to boost the worker's capability of providing better services to beneficiaries, followings can be good answers - enhanced management and supervision on caring plans and care centers, providing immediate counselling and protection for victimized care givers, training courses offered to promote service receiver's sincere respect and strengthened awareness upon care givers.

  • People spend most of their time in the indoor environment. Among the various indoor environmental factors, air and thermal environment directly affect human's health and efficiency of work. Therefore, efficient monitoring of indoor environment is highly important. For assisting the residents to understand the state of the indoor environment much easier and more intuitive, this paper analyze the visualization cases of the conventional indoor environment. Then explore the direction of improvement for the visualization method to propose a more effective visualization method. The approach of web and BIM(Building Information Model)-based visualization of indoor environment proposed in this study is composed of four major parts: 1) the generation of the model data of the building; 2) the generation of indoor environmental data; 3) the creation of visualization elements; 4) data mapping. Then it realized through the generating process of visualization results.

  • In Bone Mineral Density(BMD) measurements, accuracy and precision must be superior in order to know the small changes in bone mineral density and actual biological changes. Therefore the purpose of this study is to increase the reliability of bone mineral density inspection through appropriate management of image quality from machines and inspectors. For the machine management method, the recommended phantom from each bone mineral density machine manufacturer was used to take 10~25 measurements to determine the standard amount and permitted limit. On each inspection day, measurements were taken everyday or at least three times per week to verify the whether or not change existed in the amount of actual bone mineral density. Also evaluations following Shewhart control chart and CUSUM control chart rules were made for the bone mineral density figures from the phantoms used for measurements. Various forms of management became necessary for machine installation and movement. For the management methods of inspectors, evaluation of the measurement precision was conducted by testing the reproducibility of the exact same figures without any real biological changes occurring during reinspection. There were two measurement methods followed: patients were either measured twice with 30 measurements or three times with 15 measurements. An important point to make regarding measurements is that after the first inspection and any other inspection following, the patient was required to come off the inspection table completely and then get back on for any further measurements. With a 95% confidence level, the precision error produced from the measurement bone mineral figures produced a precision error of 2.77 times the minimum of the biological bone mineral density change (Least significant change: LSC). In order to assure reliability in inspection, there needs to be good oversight of machine management and measurer for machine operation and inspection error. Accuracy error in machines needs to be reduced to under 1% for scientific development in bone mineral density machines.

  • The purpose of the current study was to examine the validity of the Leisure Satisfaction Scale(LSS) and confirm the relations between the LSS and subjective well-being. The LSS developed by Beard and Ragheb[9] has been used for about 20 years without the examination of the validity since it was utilized in Lee[2]'s study in Korea. First, all items of the original LSS and the operational definition of factors were translated and then inversely translated, and reviewed by experts in leisure studies. A total of 515 respondents participated in the study. To achieve the goals of this study, item-total correlation, correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted by SPSS 14.0 and AMOS 5.0 programs. Main findings are as follows: First, the factor names(psychological, educational, social, physical, esthetic, and relaxation) and items were modified. Second, modified operational definition of factors were presented. The reliability and validity of the LSS consisted of 24 items and five factors were very high. Psychological and relaxation factors of LSS affected subjective well-being positively. The new LSS would be useful for the future studies associated with leisure satisfaction.
