For the rail fastener clip shoulder being used in Pandrol e-cilp type fastening system, there has been a need to make a structural and electrical improvement due to the fact that PC concrete sleeper showed material loss in the vicinity of exposed portion of the clip shoulder and the fact that track signal was lost when a track insulation block is missing on the track. In the present study, a new lightweight rail fastener clip shoulder with enhanced electrical insulation capability is developed
Impact factor of concrete and ballast track which has been used in Korea railway was applied to equation (1+0.513V/100) from AREA. As the use of this equation, overcapacity of track design might be occurred. Therefore, this study compared impact of ballast track (well, bad) and concrete track (sleeper embeded system, rail floating and sleeper floating) by field test to analyzing dynamic effect of track structure's characterstic and wheel load on service line. In addition, it suggested a method to generate reasonable impact factor on each track type.

In the present, we have developed high strength concrete for the sleepers of high speed rail and verified its applicability by in-situ applications. Concrete for sleepers is manufactured by steam curing at low temperature(below 55$^{\circ}C$), and should be finished its manufacturing process such as placing, curing, demolding and prestressing in 24 hours. The sleepers need its compressive strength above 350kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in 15 hours, air-entrainment for durability and nominal design strength of 600kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$, considering its quality variation at factory. We performed the optimum mix design of concrete and verified the rightness of the use of TYPE III cement. Finally, we have confirmed the manufactured sleepers satisfy the required material properties through in-situ application.
In 1st Phase Kyeong-Bu High-Speed Line, to lessen the impact in the transition zone between concrete slab track(in tunnel) and ballasted track(on embankment), the ballast bonding method has been adopted. However, in this area, in the beginning of the operation, unsupported sleepers are found, and the track deterioration and damage of concrete sleepers have occurred. In this paper, the status and causes of unsupported sleepers are discussed and several repair measures are proposed.

Accumulation of worn-out automobile tires creat fire and health hazards. As a possible solution to the problem of scrap-tire disposal, an experimental study was conducted to examine the potential of using tire chips as aggregate in Railroad block. This paper examines strength and toughness properties of Railroad block in which different amounts of rubber-tire particles of several sizes were used as aggregate. The Railroad block mixtures exhibited lower compressive, bending than did normal block. However, these mixtures did not demonstrate brittle failure, but rather a ductile, plastic failure, and had the ability to absorb a large amount of plastic energy under compressive loads.

In the present study, in order to elucidate the vibration characteristics of track and train body according to the type of track in tunnel, the vibration accelerations of the track and the KTX train body have been measured in tunnels of Kyong-Bu high-speed railway(HSR) lines, and the frequency analysis of the measured data has been performed. From this, the vibration characteristics of the track components such as rail, sleeper, ballast and slab, the tunnel lining and the vehicle body according to the type of track are investigated and their relation is analyzed. The test results show that the vibration of rail and vehicle body rapidly increases at 80Hz in tunnel, and that is much higher in the tunnel on which the concrete slab track is placed. According to the results of the present study, rail supporting stiffness can variate the vibration characteristics of the total system including the vehicle, and therefore the correlation between the vibration of vehicle should be taken into account to determine the supporting stiffness of the slab track.

The rail, which supports the train road, distributes the wheel loads to the tie by rail stiffness. Subway sleeper on concrete ballast is construction of PC or RC sleeper. The present, PC sleeper is constructed of line 1, 2, 3, 4 Seoul Subway and RC sleeper is planing construction for the STEDEF system on concrete ballast of the line 5, Seoul, Taegu, and Kwangju Subway. The major purpose of this study is to check influence of the angle with analysising the behavior of sleeper according to the existent or non-existent of angle. And the study is carried to check static analysis by manufacture of same model.

The purpose of this study is to derive the damage weak part of the elastic rail fastening system for concrete tracks (System 300-1). In the concrete tracks, the elastic rail fastening system sticks the rail and the sleeper and reacts all the time when the train is running. Among the components of the rail fastening system, the resilience pad and tension clamp were fatigue members and were constantly deformed in response to compressive and uplift forces. In this study, the residual deformation characteristics of the tension clamp according to the period of use were analyzed using by specimens taken on site in the same section for 6, 11, and 16 years on the serviced urban transit. In addition, the damage mechanisms for each component were derived based on finite element analysis. As a result of the numerical analysis, the stress (strain) of each part of the tension clamp according to the external force from the applied clamping force was analyzed to derive the damaged weak part of the tension clamp.
Track support stiffness which affected track maintenance and riding comfort had a big effect on the track and train. Also, track support stiffness of the track design which was based on theory differs from track support stiffness of the track generated on the field. Track support stiffness was generated by several factors such as dynamic wheel loads, vertical displacement of track, and stress at rail bottom on the field test. With the results of the field test was compared with theoretical value. This paper analyzed that track support stiffness of ballast depended on condition of ballast, and support stiffness of concrete track also depended on the characteristic of track structures such as, normal elastic fastening system, rail floating system and sleeper floating system. However, on the ballast and concrete track, the designed track support stiffness was underestimated less than the measured track support stiffness. When the track condition was estimated on service line, it would not consider the track condition on the field. Therefore, this study proposed the various track type and the range of track support stiffness based on the experimental test.

This study examined the long-term behavior of a roadbed using high-speed railway concrete track and roadbed measurement data and evaluated the long-term performance of the track and roadbed. Recently, high-speed railway track type has been adopted as a concrete slab. On the other hand, the concrete track is vulnerable to roadbed settlement. In the case of gravel tracks, it is easy to restore the original state by maintenance even if the roadbed settles. On the other hand, in the case of the concrete track, if excessive settlement of the roadbed occurs, cracks are generated continuously on the slabs and sleepers, resulting in greatly reduced usability. For this reason, it is difficult to restore the original state only by partial maintenance. In this paper, a long-term performance evaluation was carried out on a concrete track during operation by monitoring the measurement data of sensors buried from the beginning of construction for approximately 3 years after the high-speed railway opened. Performance evaluation methods include a performance evaluation of track/roadbed when the train passes, long-term track and roadbed performance evaluation, analysis of the track/roadbed effect on long-term settlement and analysis of the factors influencing long-term settlement. The trail response of KTX-Sancheon was greatest in the track/roadbed performance evaluation by train. The results of the long-term track and roadbed performance evaluation were measured within the standard values. The track and roadbed performance impact assessment with long-term settlement was strongly related to TCL settlement. The influences of the water content and groundwater level were verified by analyzing the external factors of long-term settlement. Through such a method, the stability of a track/roadbed can be secured.
