The purpose of this study is to propose frame analysis method for flat plate slabs having edge beam under lateral loads. Flat plate system is defined as the system only with slab of uniform thickness and column. However, the slab system generally incorporate edge beams at exterior connection in actual design. ACI 318 (2005) allows three methods for conducting flat plate system analysis subjected to lateral loads. There are the finite element method (FEM), the equivalent frame method (EFM), and the effective beam width method (EBWM). Among methods, the EBWM enables us to analyze practically by substituting the actual slab to beam element. In this model, the beam element has a thickness equal to that of the slab, and effective beam width equal to some fraction of the slab transverse width. However, the established EBWM was generally proposed for variables of geometry or stiffness reduction factor and seldom proposed for the effect of edge beams. This study verifies that, in the case of flat plate system having edge beams at exterior connections, the lateral stiffness is considerably larger than without edge beams. Therefore it need to analysis method for considered the effect of edge beams. In this study, an analysis model is proposed for the flat plate system having edge beams under lateral loads by considering the effect of edge beams. To verify the accuracy of proposed model, this study compared results of the proposed EBWM with results of FEM of flat plate systems having edge beams under lateral loads. Also, the proposed approach is compared with experimental results of former research.

The integrity assessment of the bridge behavior is generalized by field data of a static load-deformation curve and dynamic properties such as impact factors and natural frequencies. Evaluating it with numerical analysis is a reasonable method. The results of the mockup test and the numerical analysis are corresponded with each other since the behavior of service load proceeds in elastic region. In case of the dynamic behavior of structure, especially for the analysis of vibration, the result of the mockup test differs from the result of numerical analysis a little due to the geometric shape and non-homogeneous materials. In order to converge on these tolerances, this study suggested several numerical models, analyzed the sensitivity and finally offered a practical modeling method for the estimation of bridge on the basis of the result of mockup test. Based on the model substituted concrete section for strands section, the natural frequency of the model composed with axial stiffness of strands or the model applied the modified modulus of elasticity was closest with the result of the mockup test.

Since the cement industry generates more than 60 % of CO2 during the clinker production process, supplementary cementitious materials are used worldwide to reduce CO2 efficiently. Mainly used supplementary cementitious materials such as blast furnace slag and fly ash, which are used in various industries including the cement industry, concrete admixtures, and ground solidification materials. However, since their availability is expected to decrease in the future according to the carbon neutrality strategy of each industry, new supplementary cementitious materials should be used to achieve the cement industry's goal for increasing the additive content of Portland cement. Limestone is a material that already has a large amount in the cement industry and has the advantage of high grinding efficiency, so overseas developed countries established Portland limestone cement standards and succeeded in commercialization. This study was an experimental study conducted to evaluate the possibility of utilizing domestic PLC, the effect of fineness and replacement ratio on the physical properties of cement was investigated, and the environmental impact of cement was evaluated by analyzing CO2 emissions.

Among the byproducts from thermal power plant using coal combustion, fly ash as mineral admixture is widely utilized in concrete manufacturing for its engineering merits. However residuals including bottom ash are usually reclaimed. This study presents an evaluation of engineering properties in cement mortar with pond ash (PA). For this work, two types of pond ash (anthracite and bituminous coal) are selected from two reclamation sites. Cement mortar specimens considering two w/c (0.385 and 0.485) ratios and three replacement ratio of sand (0%, 30%, and 60%) are prepared and their workability, mechanical, and durability performance are evaluated. Anthracite pond ash has high absorption and smooth surface so that it shows reasonable workability, strength development, and durability performance since it has dense pore structure due to smooth surface and sufficient mixing water inside. Reuse of PA is expected to be feasible since PA cement mortar has reasonable engineering performance compared with normal cement mortar.

As for a possibility of using high volume of recycled aggregate in concrete mixture, recycled fine one which is known to be worse in quality and hard to control was selected and investigated in terms of performance of mortar as the replacement ratio to natural fine aggregate was changed. As a result of test, it is found that grade of recycled fine aggregate was beyond standard one and fineness modulus of that itself was increased in compare to natural one. In case of making mortar with recycled fine aggregate, disadvantageous results such as less fluidity and air content including the increase of dry shrinkage were shown but strengths of mortar were comparable to the one making with natural aggregate, which means that planned strength of common concrete structure can be achieved by controlling W/C and the amount of chemical admixture, and also that large amount of recycled fine aggregate is applicable to the precast concrete products generally free to the amount of water.
aThe elastic properties of the fault zone (width; 3~12m), the shattered zone (width; over 40m) and the fresh rock zone distributed under the core foundation of fill dam in granitic gneiss have widely different range. The deformation moduli of the fresh rock zone, the fault zone and the shattered zone obtained from in situ rock tests - Plate Load Test and Bore Hole Deformation Test - show a range of $42,000~168,000kg/\textrm{cm}^2,{\;}963~2,204kg/\textrm{cm}^2{\;}and{\;}1,238~2,098kg/\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively. The differential settlements hetween the fault zone and the fresh rock zone are expected after the dam construction. Therefore, the displacement of foundation and concrete fill are evaluated using FEADAM 84 program of finite element analysis. The geometric distribution of discontinuifies obtained from the site mapping and drilling is considered in the finite element analysis. The analysis shows that the differential settlements between the fault zone and the fresh rock zone is about 6cm, while that of concrete fill is within 0.5cm.

The present study is to evaluate physical and mechanical properties of porous concrete having non cement that mainly causes carbon emission. This study aims to explore eco-friendly concrete technology capable of reducing the amount of carbon emission due to the use of normal cement by substituting it with non cement porous concrete to which alkali-activator and blast-furnace slag powder are impregnated. As experimental variables, 5 %, 6 %, 7 %, 8 %, 9 % and 10 % of alkali-activator were substituted as binders and applied. Testing evaluated in this study were pH value, void ratio, compressive strength and residual compressive strength shown after being immersed in $H_2SO_4$ solution and $Na_2SO_4$ solution. The test results were compared with those tested with the use of porous concrete to which 400 $kg/m^3$ of unit cement amount was applied as binder. In consequence, it was concluded that; as for pH value, it was decreased than was the case in which cement was used, but increased with the more the use of alkali activator; as for void ratio and compressive strength, the mix proportion in which 9 % and 10 % of alkali activator were applied in terms of substitution ratio showed the result similar to the mixture in which 400 $kg/m^3$ of unit cement ratio was applied; and, as for residual compressive strength in the case of being immersed in $H_2SO_4$ solution and $Na_2SO_4$ solution, the compressive strength was increased, thus leading to improved chemical resistance.

This experimental study considers manufacturing method of the non-portland cement matrix for the light-weight building materials using blast furnace slag, paper ash, fly ash and polysilicon sludge the industrial by-product. For the experiment, we used paper ash by means of the foaming agent and alkali activator to make non-portland cement light-weight matrix. Various specimens were prepared with different types and addition ratios of the alkali activator. Then, the properties of these specimens were investigated by compressive strength test, bulk specific gravity. As a results, it was judged that experiment results of non-portland cement matrix with specific waste resources and alkali activators were useful as basic data for mixtures design and evaluation properties of lightweight non-portland cement building material.
Recently, the development and field applications of Ternary Blended Cement(TBC), where blast furnace slag and fly ash are recycled in Ordinary Portland Cement(OPC) in order to obtain improvements in the durability and heat of hydration reduction performance in large scale civil structures, have been increasing. Also, there are continuing efforts by construction companies to reduce the construction time with the aim of reducing construction costs. Therefore, there is a need to improve the performance of TBC, which has a relatively slow early strength development. In order to improve the early strength of TBC mortar, the compressive strength, SO3 content, and SEM analysis was determined in this study on mortar with the fineness and content of blast furnace slag and anhydrite regulated. As a result, to secure the early strength of TBC mortar, using blast furnace slag with a fineness of approximately $4,200cm^2/g$, adding 3.5% anhydrite with a fineness of approximately $10,000cm^2/g$, and managing the $SO_3$ content to roughly 3.72% was found to provide the most outstanding early strength properties.
Currently, the shotcrete used as basic support in the tunnel excavation, has the advantages of maintaining high-level strength in condition of early shooting with thin thickness based on the excavation characteristics of rock mass. Therefore supreme equipment and materials were developed and the great strides have continued. Also, the development of measurement technology and the rocks behaviors of undergound are evaluated in detail and the designs of strength and thickness are made. The reinforcement materials development of new material is carried on. Most of the coal fly ash produced in Korea fire power plant is fly ash and bottom mash. Fly ash has been producing to be applied in many fields such as cement, aggregate, construction, civil, agriculture and fisheries. Also a lot of experiments are actively on the way. Therefore in this experiment, in order to use the fly ash mixed with concrete as a material of shotcrete, the experiment was performed in the best content to reduce the compression strength and the shooting rebound ratio of the excavated surface to use fly ash as a substitute material of concrete. As a result, when 15%.wt substitution was made to the fly ash, about 10% of compression strength and 6% of rebound ratio was reduced.
