The COVID-19 pandemic have been spreading continuously across the world, hence it is difficult to expect coming to an end in a short period of time. The use of digital technology has shown tangible results in suppressing COVID-19, but raised privacy and data-protection concerns. In the context of the global efforts to deal with the coronavirus pandemic, various digital technologies are taking on a role in surveillance, monitoring, and forecasting. Also the Korea government manages Corona crisis based on legal basis. In this paper, Korea and each country's response to the Corona 19 pandemic are shown, and suggests ways to protect personal information while using digital tools. Large-scale data collection and processing is essential for the suppression of pandemic, but it should be limited to the level and scope required privacy. Also international cooperation, temporary and transparent use of personal information, the corresponding legal basis are necessary. As the use of data and algorithms is expected to continue to increase, technical and institutional efforts to reinforce privacy protection must continue.
This study was attempted to determine the satisfaction of nursing students' online classes in the situation of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and to identify factors affect it. This study conducted a survey on nursing students 220 in Daegu-Gyeongbuk area for a month in April 2021. The collected data were subjected to t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression analysis. As a result of analyzing the factors affecting the online class satisfaction of nursing students, the learner factor (β=.29, p<.001) and the system factor (β=.51, p<.001) had a statistically significant effect, the variable with the greatest relative influence was the system factor. As online classes are expected to expand even after the end of COVID-19, for a change to education that can increase the satisfaction of learners, through the development of an online operating system suitable for learning and establishing a foundation for learners to learn independently A paradigm shift in nursing education is necessary.
This study was a descriptive research study conducted to understand the relationship between the risk perception and preventive behavior of university students for COVID-19 infection, and to identify the factors that influence the preventive behavior. The subjects collected data from 228 university students of S University in Seoul. The collected data were analyzed using pearson's correlation and multiple regression. The results was the risk perception was 2.5 points out of 5, and the preventive behavior was confirmed as 3.1 points out of 4, and the preventive behavior was found to be affected by resilience, risk perception, self-isolation, and media dependence. In order to prevent new infectious diseases and to adapt to and recover from the post-COVID, it was discussed that there is a need to explore ways to strengthen individual resilience by utilizing the pure functions of the media along with disaster education.
Purpose: To assess levels of mental health among community health practitioners during the COVID-19 outbreak in Korea and associations between practitioner mental health and personal and psychosocial factors. Methods: Data were collected from a convenient sample of 275 community health practitioners using an online questionnaire, which included items on mental health (K-WEMWBS), psychosocial factors (COVID-19 sensitivity, COVID-19 self-confidence, social support, perceived stress), and personal characteristics. Collected data were analyzed using the t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple linear regression in SPSS 25.0. Results: Mean mental health score was 51.27±8.47. Multiple linear regression revealed that time spent as a community health practitioner, COVID-19 self-confidence, social support, and perceived stress were significantly associated with mental health. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that comprehensive intervention with emphases on improving COVID-19 self-confidence, social support, and reducing stress is required to improve community health practitioner mental health. The results also indicate a need for educational programs aimed at improving the mental health of young community health practitioners.
In December 2019, the world faced a crisis in the international economy due to the coronavirus pandemic. Korea has made efforts to stimulate the economy in various ways, including basic income support for all citizens and income support for small business owners. The purpose of this study is to examine how prolonged COVID-19 affects the family, the basic unit of society, and each family member. The family conflicts and crisis solutions due to COVID-19 are as follows. It is to have intensive support for the family, program support for strengthening bonds between household members, and recognition of equal values.
In December 2019, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the virus, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) emerged in China and spread rapidly around the world, infecting millions of people. Cases of COVID-19 infection were observed to lead to viral pneumonia. Thirty-five patients admitted to the Gyeonggi Medical Center, South Korea, between November 2020 to January 2021, were found to have been infected with the influenza virus A and B, which cause symptoms similar to COVID-19. The records of these patients and those of COVID-19 patients who visited the hospital for medical examination were compared. The study patients included thirty patients with COVID-19 and/or influenza, five of those with influenza alone. A group of 121 patients without infection was used as control. Patients with COVID-19 and influenza had significantly higher lactate dehydrogenase levels than the patients with COVID-19 alone. The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) was higher in patients with COVID-19 alone than in other groups. Significant clinical outliers were observed in the COVID-19 and influenza infection group compared with the COVID-19 alone group. These results are expected to play an important role in the analysis of the hematological data of infected patients and the comparison of simultaneous and single infection data to determine clinical symptoms and other signs. These results may also assist in the development of vaccines and treatments for COVID-19.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the experiences of public officials working for the Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) response in community health centers in South Korea. Methods: A qualitative thematic analysis was conducted using data collected from three focus groups and two individual interviews. Results: The participants performed quarantine tasks in a poor working environment with several problems, such as significant workload, lack of manpower, and inappropriate compensation system. Participants experienced obstacles in performing quarantine works, which had the lack of the detailed quarantine guidelines, work support and cooperation system. Participants suffered from civil complaints. Participants endured sacrifices in their personal lives while partaking in COVID-19 response work without holidays, and subsequently experienced health problems. And also participants said that it was necessary to secure expertise and effective communication for infectious disease management. Conclusion: The study results suggest that policies are required that are aimed to improve the working environment and the recruitment of experts in infectious diseases. In addition, the job stress related to the COVID-19 response by public officials in community health centers must be evaluated, and the relation of their job stress to physical and mental problems, as well as psychosocial stress, must be examined.
Purpose: This study aimed to develop and test a model for posttraumatic growth among cured patients with COVID-19. This model was based on Calhoun and Tedeschi's Posttraumatic Growth model and a literature review. Methods: The participants comprised 223 patients cured from COVID-19 who were ≥ 19 years of age. The data were collected through an online questionnaire from March 21 to 24, 2022. The assessment tools included the Impact of Event Scale: Revised Korean version, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, the Distress Disclosure Index, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, the Korean version of the Event-related Rumination Inventory, and the Korean version of the Post-traumatic Growth Inventory. Data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS version 24.0 and IBM AMOS 26.0. Results: The modified model showed appropriate goodness of fit (χ2 = 369.90, χ2 /degree of freedom = 2.09, SRMR = .09, RMESA = .07, CFI = .94, TLI = .93). The post-traumatic growth of cured patients with COVID-19 was explained through distress perception, self-disclosure, and deliberate rumination, with the explanatory power being 70.0%. Conclusion: This study suggests preparing a disaster psychology program involving experts who can activate deliberate rumination is necessary. Further, this study may serve as basic data for developing a program to enhance the post-traumatic growth of patients cured from COVID-19.
