Implementation of the Integration Laboratory for 8051 Microcontroller (8051 마이크로콘트롤러 통합실험실의 구현)

  • The virtual laboratory is implemented by Java applets and FLASH animations, which provides the learners with improved experimental methods. If the learners have access to the virtual laboratory system through signing up procedure, they can acquire the fundamental concepts and make a virtual experiment on 8051 microcontroller. In addition, we have implemented the remote laboratory for practicing 8051 microcontroller, which can be used to compensate the absence of reality, occurred during virtual laboratory session. Finally, the proposed integration laboratory provides the learners with almost all the same and advantages as a real laboratory environment.

A Web-based Education System with Remote Experimentation Environment for Embedded Systems Education (원격실험실 환경을 제공하는 임베디드 시스템 활용 교육을 위한 웹기반 교육 시스템)

  • In this paper, a web-based, advanced education system for embedded systems have been implemented, which provide students reality through remote controlled experiment environment when they conduct experiments through web, in addition to the creative multimedia contents. Students can use the server-side remote experiment environment through telnet client using Java technology to conduct a variety of experiments on the embedded system remotely. Our system can be used as economical education tools for expensive experiment equipments in shared fashion through web as well as effective and convenient ones for embedded systems anywhere and anytime when internet access is available, compensating for lack in reality of virtual educations.

A Study on the Effect of Basic Life Support Training on the First Responsive Police Officers

  • The study was conducted to verify the effect of basic life support training on the skill ability of police officers. The subjects of this study were 10 experimental group and 10 comparative group with voluntary consent after explaining the theory and significance of the training experiment at the police station located in K. The education program used in this study consists of theoretical education and practical training, and the theoretical education is 60 minutes and the practical training is 30 minutes. The measurement tool for basic resuscitation performance was measured based on the 'CPR and ECG Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care' presented by the American Heart Association. The results are as follows. The experimental group showed higher performance skills than the traditional control group in field confirmation performance skills, primary evaluation performance skills (A, B, C, medical evaluation), and BLS performance skills (heart compression, artificial respiration, medical evaluation) which are the basic resuscitation performance skills. In conclusion, this study confirmed that the theory and practice education program is more effective in improving the clinical performance of police officers than the traditional lectures and practice education, so it is possible to apply this simulation education program to the cardiac arrest patient emergency treatment.

Development and Application of an Online-based Arduino Programming Experience Program

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and apply an online-based Arduino programming experience program. In this study, the program was developed and applied based on the contents presented in the ADDIE model and Lee's model. The results of this study were as follows. First, two types of educational program were developed for online use by students of the free semester system. Second, the program content included practical materials such as teaching websites and video lectures. Third, the developed program was applied a total of three times in the school environment and when the student did not attend school. Fourth, analysis of student satisfaction confirmed that the students were satisfied with the development program. The content of this study will serve as a reference for instructors who plan online-based hands-on activities in places where instructors are not readily available, such as islands or mountainous areas.

Exploring the Operating and Supporting Direction of AI Curriculum by Analyzing A High School Case Study

  • This study was conducted to explore the necessary conditions and support for stable operation of an expanded AI curriculum in education. A high school that has implemented an AI curriculum since 2020 was targeted, and students and teachers were surveyed on their perceptions of the AI curriculum, implementation and support strategies. The survey items were categorized into 1) experience with AI education, 2) implementation direction of AI education, and 3) expected effects through AI education, and the results were derived focusing on frequency analysis to identify trends. The analysis resulted in three implications. First, it was suggested that the activation of AI education. Second, the need to develop a hands-on AI curriculum and incorporate AI throughout the entire curriculum was highlighted. Third, it was emphasized that efforts to enhance the capabilities of teachers to implement AI teaching and learning, along with the expansion of physical infrastructure for hands-on education, are necessary.

The effect of Self-Efficacy, Major Satisfaction and Clinical Practice Stress on Core Nursing Skills Performance Confidence of Nursing Students

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of self-efficacy, major satisfaction, and clinical practice stress on the confidence in performing core nursing skills of nursing students. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire for 142 3,4th graders of K University's nursing department in Gyeongsangbukdo and analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. As a result of the study, the confidence in performing core nursing skills according to general characteristics showed a significant difference in grade(F=-2.08, p<0.05). Confidence in performing core nursing skills showed a significant positive correlation with self-efficacy(r=.50, p<.001) and major satisfaction(r=.62, p<.001), and factors influencing confidence in performing core nursing care were found to have 41.7% explanatory power with major satisfaction(β=.49, p=.002) and self-feeicacy(β=.24, p<.001). Based on the results of this study, it seems necessary to establish an educational strategy to improve the confidence in performing core nursing skills and to improve self-efficacy and major satisfaction.

On the design of instruments for integrating general educational technology course and educational technology in mathematics education course (교육공학 관련 교직과목과 교과교육 과목의 연계를 위한 도구)

  • To get an undergraduate degree from mathematics education department, a student not only take a general educational technology course from education department, but also take an educational technology in mathematics education course from mathematics education department. We believe that these two courses can be integrated for preparing better mathematics teachers. For this purpose, we design an educational technology tool called JavaMAL microworld, and study strategy to integrate two courses harmoniously. This kind of approach is good for internationalization of researches on mathematics education by Korean researchers since most SSCI journal prefer an integrated approach in the educational technology related papers. In short, integrating general educational technology course and educational technology in mathematics education course is not only good to student but to professors. But just integrating two courses is not enough. Students must understand the needs and the usefulness of educational technology tool in the learning and teaching of mathematics, and must have such experience from their mathematics courses.

The Effect of Class Practice-oriented Coding Instructor Training Course on the Creativity Improvement of Preliminary Coding Instructors (수업 실습 중심 코딩 강사 양성 과정이 예비 코딩 강사의 창의성 향상에 미치는 효과)

  • In this study, through a total of 73 lectures and practice for 14 days, preliminary coding instructors developed teaching materials for elementary and junior high school students and verified the effectiveness of the coding instructor training course. The coding instructor training course was hosted by the "◯◯ Creative Economy Innovation Center" for 25 preliminary coding instructors, and was conducted at the "◯◯ University", and 15 elementary and junior high school students who participated in the class were openly recruited. The teaching materials were developed according to the procedure of the ADDIE model based on the results of the pre-requirement analysis conducted with 20 incumbent elementary school teachers majoring in computer education. As a result of running a training course for coding instructors focusing on classroom practice, it was found that the creativity of pre-coding instructors improved.

  • Globally, the prolonged pandemic of COVID-19 (COVID-19) has had a great impact on all industries. In particular, in the field of education, online classes (non-face-to-face) had some negative perceptions of online classes, such as lack of preparation for learning and student dissatisfaction with the class. According to the current situation survey in 2020, non-face-to-face classes accounted for about 56% of the class, and streaming real-time classes and video content-based classes accounted for most of the class. This study empirically analyzes the problems to be solved by online classes through the 2020-2021 survey (software application practical class university students), and explains the detailed program and development plan (implementation result). This study intends to contribute to the development of online learning development of each educational institution after the end of the corona crisis.

  • Wee developed the automatic operation system for the laboratories equipment based on MATLAB GUI. By using Instrument Control Tool Box and standard protcol, PC and equipments are well connected each other. Wee developed the software to control the display of input and output between PC and equipments by using MATLAB GUI, This system will be effectively used in laboratories and experimental facilities and more in on-line education system for experiments.
