A study on the practical use of CAI (컴퓨터 보조수업의 활용실태에 대한 분석)

  • This study is aimed at checking on the extent of practical use of CAI in mathematical classes in secondary schools, thus seeking a way of activating the practical use of CAI, with computer networks being widely used for education. This research was conducted among some 120 mathematics teachers and 350 students in middle and high schools in the City of Kunsan, with questionnaires designed to survey the extent and effectiveness of the use of CAI, the teachers and students' awareness of CAI. In consequence, this research shows the following: The use of CAI was of considerable help in conducting mathematics classes, along with CAI used in a more effective way, but education materials concerning CAI were poorly managed and not a few teachers was negative toward the use of CAI in mathematics classes. In short, the practical use of CAI was unsatisfactory, probably due to the lack of application ability on the part of teachers caused by the perfunctory teachers' training. In conclusion, the practical use of CAI in classes can be activated as follows: CAI apparatuses and other teaching aids should be systematically managed by experts; high-quality CAI programs need to be developed to help teachers conduct effective classes; teachers should be positively encouraged to make practical use of CAI through teachers' training and a plan of obligating teachers to use CAI for one or two fixed class hours in a week may be strongly recommended.

  • 지금까지 컴퓨터의 교육적 활용은 보조적인 교수자료나 학습도구로서 인식되어 왔지만 디지털교과서(Digital Textbook)의 출현으로 컴퓨터와 학교 교육과정 및 수업이 하나로 통합되면서 컴퓨터의 교육적 역할이 학습보조수단에서 교수.학습활동의 주된 교재로써의 역할로 바뀌게 되었다. 국내에서는 2007년 3월, 교육과학기술부(MEST)에서 본격적인 디지털교과서 개발과 보급을 위한 준비 단계의 계획으로 '디지털교과서 상용화(常用化) 방안'을 발표하였다. 이에 따라 교육 분야에서는 급변하는 국가 사회적 요구를 교과서에 신속히 반영하고 체계적인 교수 학습 국가 DB를 구축하기 위한 "디지털교과서 개발" 사업을 추진하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 디지털교과서 정의와 기능을 제시하며, 국내외의 디지털교과서 개발사례를 살펴본다. 또한 마지막으로 디지털교과서 개발전략 및 발전방향을 제안하였다.

  • 영어 교육의 필요성이 증가하고 그에 대한 수요가 늘어남에 따라 컴퓨터를 이용한 외국어 교육 시스템이 개인적인 영어 교육방법으로 소개되고 있다. 새로운 외국어를 접할 때 습득하기 어려운 부분 중 하나가 발음이고, 발음이 외국어 말하기 실력에 중요한 요소이기 때문에 특별한 훈련이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점에 대하여 충분히 인지하고 외국어 발음 향상에 도움을 주기 위하여 컴퓨터 보조 발음 훈련시스템을 개발하였다. 본 시스템은 발음 훈련과 억앙 훈련, 즉 문장 강세 훈련과 끊어 읽기 훈련을 포함하며, 사용자의 발화에 대해 적절한 평가와 피드백을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 발음 훈련 시스템의 구성요소와 동작에 대하여 중점적으로 기술하였다.

A Study on the effectiveness of computers and mobile devices on learning foreign languages

  • This study aims to show that "Computer-assisted language learning (CALL)" and "Mobile-based language learning (MALL)" actually influence education, deviating from the traditional "drill and practice" method in foreign language education and learning due to the development of information and communication technology (IT). Specifically, for first-year college students who have relatively poor English skills and do not feel enough motivation for English learning, I will produce educational video content using multimedia authoring tools and upload it to the e-learning system. Video content is configured to be accessed and utilized through various media such as computers, smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc. Ultimately, an exploration of educational value behind the utilization of IT devices in English language Teaching(ELT) and the Second Language Acquisition (SLA) theory behind effective instructional use of such technology are presented. That is to say, the effectiveness of language learning using information and communication technology (IT) is introduced. The article closes by suggesting how to use computers and mobile media for 'Flipped Learning'.

The Effect of the Learner's Creativity and Self-Efficacy on the Support Type of the Assistant Teacher in Robot Education (로봇교육에서 보조교사 지원 유형이 학습자의 창의성과 자기효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research is to confirm that how the support type of the assistant teacher changes the students' creativity and self-efficacy in the Robot Education, particularly Robot Edu-Camp. The study objects are 72 elementary students for 8 groups; each group has 9 students, and 4 groups of them have the assistant teachers and others are supported by giving some feedbacks for their questions or some information if they need. The assumption of this study sets up as in the following; there are no differences for the students' creativity and self-efficacy between the supporting of the assistant teachers with making robots and programing together and the giving feedbacks and information if students need. To verify this assumption, we use the nonequivalent control group in the pretest-posttest designs. The result is as in the following. There's no meaningful differences of the students' creativity by the support type of the assistant teachers. But in the self-efficacy, the groups which are giving feedbacks and information if they need have more higher level of achievement than others. The result shows that if the assistant teachers help the students directly, the students' levels of the self-direction, and control are low because they lean on the teachers. This will give you some implications to the follow-up studies about the support type of the assistant teachers in the Robot Education.

  • 정보 사회의 급속적인 발달로 인해 컴퓨터 교과가 독자적인 교과로 채택되어야 하는 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 현재 사용하고 있는 초등학교 컴퓨터 교과서는 기능위주의 교과서로 구성되어 있어서 독립교과로서의 컴퓨터 교과서로는 사용하기 어렵다. 따라서 본 고에서는 독립교과로서의 컴퓨터 교과서의 새로운 단원 구조를 제시해보고 그 예시안을 제안하며, 컴퓨터 교과서의 형태 측면에서 보조교과서의 형태 방향과 e-textbook의 형태 방향을 제안하였다.

  • It is necessary to obtain images of high diagnosis worth based on ability and skill of radiological technologist in case of acquisition of medical radiologaphy information. In addition, we need the various kinds of education considering individual radiological technologist variation and the organization of clinical education according to the large amount of learning and more expensive knowledge of radiology. In this paper, we implement CAI system for cervical vertebrae fracture radiograph with multimedia authoring tools on web environments. The CAI system can train a new radiological technologist and study a lot of radiological technologist on the cervical vertebrae fracture radiography acquisition based on more objective and systematical data in radiography room. The proposed CAI system is also expected as a useful program which can help to cure patients based on accurate diagnosis as well as obtain radiography more quickly using a technology of radiography acquisition for cervical vertebrae fracture.

  • The Internet had been taken properties which were both a slow speed and low-bandwidth of the first time. It was impossible to transmit large multimedia data because of a Internet properties. After tens of Year Passed, many people began to transmit multimedia data in the Internet which had fast-speed and high-bandwidth. Some people want to team classes to be taught in school through the Internet. And, educators wish to use multimedia data in the educational field. Due to previous reasons, many parts in the educational field had tried to join real-time objects to multimedia objects. But, real-time data didn’t appear easily due to many faults like network errors and system bugs if we want to control data in order to teach and learn classes. Then, this paper separates real-time and unreal-time data and controls these data that aye made a time scheduler to have time information in the extended SMIL-file for deceasing these faults.

Convergence Technologies by a Long-term Case Study on Telepresence Robot-assisted Learning (텔레프리젠스 로봇보조학습 사례 연구를 통한 융합기술)

  • The purpose of this paper is aimed to derive suggestions for convergence technology for effective management of distance education by analyzing a long-term case. The experiment was designed with notebook, smartphone or tablet based robot controlled by a remote instructor and a learner, who have experience of distance learning including robot assisted learning. The tablet based robot has the display system of feedback to speakers. During five months, three types of experiments were conducted randomly and a participant was interviewed thoroughly. The result, like the previous research, demonstrates that the task performance of the learner in telepresence robot-assisted learning was better than that in the notebook, and smartphone based. However, it is believed to be necessary to adjust the system for eye-contact and voice transmission for the remote instructor. The instructor required an additional sight by supplementing an extra camera and automatic direction control to source of sound.

  • The purpose of this study is to discover if the use of computer technologies in computer-assisted language learning, in the aspect of vocabulary learning, is both effective and useful. The technique of using multimedia lessons, using the computer, offers a variety of language learning tasks in relation to the four basic language learning skills. Korean students have been accustomed to a cramming style of education, and they utilize rote memorization for learning vocabulary. This study consisted of surveys and experiments, using specific multimedia language learning courseware exercises on three different age groups. The study explores the issues and problems that followed, and how teachers could effectively apply or enhance their vocabulary teaching through computer-assisted multimedia which is suited for a variety of levels versus the classroom off-line vocabulary learning application which is suited to one level.
