Processing Methods for Ink-and-Wash Painting in Mobile Contents (모바일 콘텐츠의 수묵 담채 렌더링을 위한 프로세싱 기법)

  • Development of mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet PC and increased usage for mobile contents make researches of mobile computer graphics noticeable. However, previous non-photorealistic renderings such as an ink-and-wash painting with thin colors are almost designed for desktop platform and not well-matched for mobile devices. In the result, mobile-specific rendering techniques are needed to create 3D mobile contents with non-photorealistic graphics. We introduce processing techniques that are especially ink-and-wash painting and oriental thin coloring in mobile devices. Through the result of this paper, it is expected that various 3D mobile contents with non-photorealistic styles are made. Proposed work also can allow mobile devices render it in realtime using proposed preprocessing techniques and rendering pipelines.

Interference Suppression Based on Switching Beamforming for TPMS (스위칭 빔형성기 기반의 TPMS 용 간섭제거 기술)

  • A TPMS is a wireless communication system designed to monitor its condition inside the pneumatic tires on various types of vehicles. These systems report the tire pressure information to the driver of the vehicle. While wireless communications is used to transmit the measurement data from TPMS sensors to a central processing unit in the vehicle, it suffers from the various interferences such as sensors of each tire or outside electrical equipments. Based on the conventional beamformer, a switching beamforming technique is proposed to minimize the interference and efficiently receive valid data. Moreover, in order to minimize the interference and reduce power consumption for communication, a system with unique Gold Code is presented for each tire. The performance of interference suppression is illustrated by computer simulations.

a-Si:H/a-SiN:H 계면에서 각각 phosphorus로 도핑된 층이 TFT 이동도에 미치는 영향

  • 현재 AMLCD(Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display)는 노트북, 컴퓨터, TV등 여러 영상매체에 있어 가장 많이 활용되고 있는 디스플레이로 손꼽힌다. AMLCD에 구동소자로 사용되는 a-Si:H TFT는 낮은 제조비용과 축적된 기술을 바탕으로 가장 많이 쓰이고 있다. 특히 a-Si이 가지는 소형화나 대형화의 편의성은 모바일 기기, projection TV, 광고용 패널 등 적용분야가 점점 넓어지고 있는 추세이다. 하지만 a-Si라는 물질 자체가 가지는 낮은 이동도는 더 많은 application을 위해 해결되어야 할 과제이다. 낮은 이동도는 a-Si 실리콘 원자간 결합의 불규칙성 및 무질서와 dangling bond에 의한 localize state(deep trap, band tail)의 존재 때문에 발생하며 결과적으로 TFT 소자의 특성의 저하를 가져온다. 앞선 연구에서는 carrier이동도의 개선을 위해서 첫 번째로 insulator층과 active층 사이의 계면 상태를 향상시키기 위해 insulator로 쓰이는 a-SiN층 표면에 0~18 sccm의 유량으로 phosphorus를 주입하였다. AFM분석을 해본 결과 phosphorus를 주입함으로써 계면의 roughness가 줄어드는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 이러한 계면의 roughness 감소는 표면 산란(surface scattering)및 전자 포획(trap)의 영향을 줄임으로써 이동도의 향상을 가져왔다. 두 번째로 active층으로 쓰이는 a-Si:H 층의 표면에 phosphorus를 0?9sccm의 유량으로 doping하였다. 이로 인해 channel이 형성되는 active 영역에 직접적으로 불순물을 doping됨으로써 전도도를 증가되어 이동도를 향상시켰다. 하지만 지나친 doping은 불순물 산란(impurity scattering)의 증가로 인해 이동도를 저하시키는 결과를 보여 주었다. 본 연구에서는 TFT의 이동도 향상을 위해 두 가지의 technology를 함께 적용시켜 a-SiN/a-Si:H 계면 각각에 phosphorus를 주입 및 doping을 하였다. 모든 박막은 PECVD로 제작하였으며 각 박막의 두께는 a-SiN/a-SiN(phosphorus)/a-Si:H(doped)/a-Si:H/n+ a-Si($2350{\AA}/150{\AA}/150{\AA}/1850{\AA}/150{\AA}$)으로 고정하고 유량을 변화시키면서 특성을 관찰하였다.

  • This study describes a system which makes children use a cooperation study for the education of a library use and applies SDG technology to this cooperation study SDG means a system which is able to do a cooperation work as a multi-inputting device in a computer display. Through the use library utilization education system based on SDG, learners study simultaneously and collaborately. On this thesis. We embodied the understanding of the decimal classification of Korea and the arrangement of a bookshelf and the study of the location tracking as a game style based on an existed study that a cooperation study used SDG is more superior that an individual study used a single device. Librarians through this system will be able to easily and interestingly instruct children for the use of a library.

  • As display devices evolve, computer-based work environments are also becoming better suited to actual application tasks. This paper discusses the development of an architectural design system using the virtual table, which is a table-type projection system. It consists of the interactive VR modeler, the hybrid tracker and the architectural interpreter. The interactive VR modeler offers visual and tactile guide such as grid interaction, a tangible transparent prop and reference objects, so that a user can design architectural 3D models more easily and intuitively on the virtual table. The hybrid tracker includes two types of tracking methods for viewpoint according to the user's view and hand interaction: namely, vision-based tracking and magnetic tracking. The architectural interpreter automatically transforms simple 3D masses into a basic construction form that has architectural knowledge. The proposed system has advantage in the sense that it is suitable for collaboration among several users, allowing them to view graphical objects in stereoscopic view with direct 3D manipulation. Thus, it can be effectively used for architectural simulation and user-participated design.

Assessment of Physiological Responses for the Phobia in a Virtual Environment

  • The goals of this study are twofold: To investigate non-phobics'and Phobics'Physiological response in virtual environments. and to analyze the trend of phobics' Physiology during virtual reality treatment. As a measure of Physiology. heart rate, skin resistance. and skin temperature were acquired. The data of two group subjects were analyzed: twenty-two non-Phobic subjects (M=32.94 years). thirty-six subjects with fear of flying (M=40.12 yearn) who met the DSM-lV criteria for a fear of flying. As a result. skin resistance showed significant differences between non-Photics and phobics. T(56) =2.978, P〈0.01 And the physiological responses of 33 subjects among the Phobics. who succeed to fly without medicine after virtual reality treatment, showed a gradual trend toward the non-Phobics Physiological responses as therapy sessions went on. In this study. Physiological monitoring. skin resistance appeared to be useful both in understanding the Physiological state of Phobic individuals and in evaluating the results of treatment in virtual reality Psychotherapy.

ICP와 헬리콘 플라즈마를 이용한 대면적 고밀도 플라즈마 소스 개발

  • 플라즈마 공정에서의 생산률이 플라즈마의 밀도에 비례한다는 많은 연구가 이루어진 후, 초대면적 고밀도 플라즈마 소스의 개발은 플라즈마 소스 개발에서 중요한 부분을 차지하기 시작하였다. 이로 인해, 전자 공명 플라즈마, 유도 결합 플라즈마와 헬리콘 플라즈마 등 새로운 고밀도 플라즈마 개발 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 최근에는 고밀도 플라즈마 개발과 더불어, 대면적 플라즈마 소스의 개발이 플라즈마 공정 기술의 중요한 이슈가 되고 있는데, 이는 450 mm 이상의 반도체, 2 m${\times}$2 m 이상의 8세대 평판 디스플레이와 1 m${\times}$1 m 태양광 전지 생산 공정에서 플라즈마의 기술이 요구되고 있기 때문이다. 대면적 공정영역의 이러한 경향은 균일한 대면적 고밀도 플라즈마 개발을 촉진시켜왔다. 밀도가 낮은 축전 결합 플라즈마를 제외한, 대면적 공정에 적합한 고밀도 플라즈마원으로 유도 결합 플라즈마와 헬리콘 플라즈마를 선택한 후, 병렬연결 시의 특성을 알기 위하여 ICP와 헬리콘의 단일 튜브와 다수 튜브의 플라즈마 내부, 외부 변수를 측정하여 조사하였다. 두 가지 플라즈마 소스의 비교 실험을 위하여, 자기장을 제외한 모든 조건을 동등하게 한 후 실험을 하였다. 단일 헬리콘 실험을 바탕으로, 대면적 실험에 가장 적합한 자기장의 세기, 자석의 위치 및 튜브의 치수를 정한 후, fractal 구조를 위한 16개 다수 방전을 ICP와 헬리콘을 비교하였다. 병렬연결 시, RF 플라즈마에서는 같은 전압을 가져도, 안테나 디자인을 고려하지 않으면 모든 튜브의 방전이 이루어 지지 않았다. 이를 컴퓨터 모의 전사를 통해 확인하고, 가장 최적화된 안테나를 설계하여 실험을 하였다. ICP에서는 모든 튜브가 방전에 성공한 반면, 헬리콘 플라즈마는 ICP에 10배에 달하는 높은 밀도를 냈으나, 오직 4개 튜브만이 켜지고 안정적으로 방전이 이루어 지지 않았다. ICP의 경우, RF 전송선의 디자인을 통해 파워의 균등 분배가 가능하지만, 헬리콘의 경우 자기장을 추가해서 고려해야 되는 것을 확인하였다. 모든 튜브에 비슷한 자기장을 형성하기 위해서는 자석의 크기가 커지는 문제점이 있으나, 매우 낮은 압력에서 방전이 가능하고, 같은 압력에서 ICP에 비해 10배 이상 달하는 장점이 있다. 실험 결과를 바탕으로, ICP와 헬리콘 플라즈마의 다수 방전에 대한 분류를 하였고, 바로 현장에 투입이 가능한 소스로 판단된다.

An Analysis of Formability of Micro Pattern Forming on the Thin Sheet Metal (마이크로 박판 미세 패턴 성형공정의 성형성에 대한 해석적 연구)

  • Roll-to-roll forming process is one of important metal processing technology because the process is simple and economical. These days, with these merits, roll-to-roll forming process is tried to be employed in manufacturing the circuit board, barrier ribs and solar cell plate. The solar cell plate may have millions of patterns, and the analysis of forming considering all the patterns is impossible due to the computational costs. In this study, analyses are carried out for various numbers of patterns and the results are compared. It is shown that the analyses results with four row patterns and twelve row patterns are same. So, it is considered that the analysis can be carried out for only four rows of pattern for the design of incremental roll-to-roll forming process. Also formability is analysed for various number of mesh, protrusion shapes and forming temperature.

Computational Complexity Comparison of TPMS Beamformers for Interference Suppression (간섭제거를 위한 TPMS 빔형성기들의 복잡도 비교)

  • TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) is a safety assistant system to prevent the serious accident due to the damaged tire by the abnormal tire pressure. It is designed to transmit the measured data for pressure and temperature of tires from the sensor unit installed in each tire to signal processing unit installed in a vehicle. Based on the received information, a driver monitors the condition of tires using a display device, to maintain the optimum travelling condition. Since TPMS should employ the wireless communication technique, it may suffer from various interferences from external electrical or electronics devices. In order to suppress them, the beamforming techniques such as switching, minimum-variance distortionless-response (MVDR), and generalized sidelobe canceler (GSC) have been considered for TPMS. In this paper, we calculate computational complexities of three beamformers and suggest mathematical basis to compare their performance of the complexity.

Analysis of Big Data Visualization Technology Based on Patent Analysis (특허분석을 통한 빅 데이터의 시각화 기술 분석)

  • Modern data computing developments have led to big improvements in graphic capabilities and there are many new possibilities for data displays. The visualization has proven effective for not only presenting essential information in vast amounts of data but also driving complex analyses. Big-data analytics and discovery present new research opportunities to the computer graphics and visualization community. In this paper, we discuss the patent analysis of big data visualization technology development in major countries. Especially, we analyzed 160 patent applications and registered patents in four countries on November 2012. According to the result of analysis provided by this paper, the text clustering analysis and 2D visualization are important and urgent development is needed to be oriented. In particular, due to the increase of use of smart devices and social networks in domestic, the development of three-dimensional visualization for Big Data can be seen very urgent.
