Physical modeling synthesizing of 25 strings Gayageum using white noise as exciter (화이트 노이즈를 익사이터로 이용하는 25현 가야금의 피지컬 모델링 신디사이징)

  • Up until now, attempts to produce computer instruments have been largely focused on two types of sampling methods and physical modeling. Since the sampling method removes much of the harmonics in the sampling process, the effect of exciter that emphasizing the harmonic of the strings are mini. However, the physical modeling method can produce a lot of harmonics, and by emphasizing the harmonics of a particular frequency band among these harmonics, it is possible to produce a sound more like a lively sound. In this paper, we propose a method of using white noise in realizing exciter emphasizing harmonics of pre - specified frequency band in prefectural physical modeling. And comparing the envelope and spectrum of the Gayageum sound, we confirmed that the physical modeling method with the exciter is more suitable for the actual Gayageum sound than the sampling method and the conventional physical modeling method.

  • Block-based educational programming language(EPL) is commonly used due to its availability at low or no cost. It is also preferred tool of computing education due to its intuitive design, ease-of-use and its effectiveness in increasing algorithmic thinking abilities especially in elementary students. Physical computing is also necessary because it brings students closer to real-world problem solving by connecting the real world with the computing environment. However, due to high-cost and required knowledge in electrical engineering, many schools find the education difficult to access. The study shows significant increase in computational thinking abilities in both groups treated with EPL and additional physical computing education.

  • With the announcement of the revised curriculum in September, 2015, the informatics for a secondary school was designated as compulsory, and Physical Computing section was included. With a leading school, the educational research using Arduino is currently underway, but there remain the problems to be solved to utilize Arduino in the revised curriculum. This study developed educational board which can make it possible for secondary learners to lessen the cognitive burden of hardware, and to experience the process of creation when they learn Physical computing. The characteristics of the board are as follows: First, keeping compatibility with Arduino. Second, provision of the most essential functions for creation. Third, miniaturization. This study composed the board to make it easier for a secondary learner to create. and thinks that it's necessary to continue the research on board development for diverse learners, and class application on the basis of this research.

A Study on the Characteristics of Celtic Music Elements in Tropical House (트로피컬 하우스에서 나타나는 켈틱 음악의 특징 연구)

  • This research approach is different from the existing definition of Tropical House. It was derived from an electronic music genre (deep house, chill out, dance hall). However, this study explains that Tropical House contains elements of other art forms as well as electronic music. These are the elements of Ireland's traditional music (Celtic music). This study explains why the fusion of Tropical House and Celtic music was easy. And it shows that elements of Celtic music are included in Tropical House through eight popular songs. It can be confirmed that the melody, harmony, rhythm, singing method, instrumentation, and structure of Tropical House are intertwined with the elements of Celtic music. The key point of this research is to suggest that Celtic musical elements are found in the Tropical House genre. In addition, creators need to pay attention to various types of music, including traditional music from around the world. It is suggested that creators need to think about how to combine today's music with various other genres to create original music.

A Meta-Synthesis of Research about Physical Computing Education in Korean Elementary and Secondary Schools (초·중등학교 피지컬 컴퓨팅 교육 연구의 메타 종합 분석)

  • A physical computing education is helpful for enhancing learners' computational thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem solving ability and so on. Recently, it is being actively promoted according to the software education policy and the 2015 revised national curriculum in Korea. This study describes a meta-synthesis of research on physical learning education that investigates the extent to which there is evidence of benefits and challenges for physical computing education. 37 articles were identified, and 20 articles met the inclusion criteria. The synthesis resulted in the list of purposes, teaching and learning methods, and physical computing tools, and benefits of physical computing education.

Selection and research of physical computing game elements through case analysis (사례 분석을 통한 피지컬 컴퓨팅 게임 요소 선별 및 연구)

  • This research will apply the environmental characteristics of physical computing to game development, which has the concept of giving substantial materiality to digital media that do not exist in reality. The processing process of physical computing is digital input and digital output, and analog input and analog output, which mainly uses Malik controllers. Therefore, we select development elements by analyzing research cases in the field of digital art and information education where physical computing is studied a lot, and by analyzing games that borrowed some physical computing elements. The derived elements are verified by the Delphi's research methodology through agreement with experts. 12 elements are selected in this study, and the importance is shown in order of the physical properties in the virtual world, the suitability of the implementation technology, and the conformity between real and virtual players.

A Case Study on Block Coding and Physical Computing Education for University of Education Students (교육대학생을 대상으로 한 블록 코딩 및 피지컬 컴퓨팅 교육 사례)

  • This study is an example of the education of block coding and physical computing teaching tool for preservice teachers at the college of education. The students were familiar with coding and improved their coding skills in solving various problems through 'Entry' that support block coding. In addition, the students configured the computing system with various input / output devices of the physical computing teaching tool and controlled things through programming and produced the educational portfolio to experience the whole process of problem analysis, design, implementation, and testing in coding. We applied Flow based coding and Pair programming as the teaching methods, and the results of the survey to measure the effectiveness of the study show that students have a good understanding of the entry and physical computing teaching tool and using the combination of the entry and physical computing teaching tool were more effective in learning than the Entry-only coding. In addition, it was confirmed that the effect of Pair programming applied in the physical computing teaching tool.

  • 가정용 통합형 리모콘에 관한 연구의 중간 점검 결과 5 가지 디자인 요소를 찾을 수 있었다. 본 연구는 이 선행 연구를 통해 조작대상 기기의 변환 제어에 관한 요소의 중요성이 인식되어 이에 관한 좀 더 심도있는 분석과 연구를 진행한 것이다. 먼저 가정용 통합형 리모콘의 사용상황을 3 가지 (C1, C2, C3)로 분류하고 물리적이고 직관적으로 기기를 사용하는 C1 조작 상황을 연구의 범위로 제한하였다. C1 조작 상황에서 통합형 리모콘으로 기기를 변환, 제어하는 방법으로서 피지컬 트랜지션을 연구의 대상으로 정하였다. 피지컬 트랜지션 연구를 위해 현재 출시된 통합형 리모콘의 기기 변환, 제어 사례 연구와 조작 대상 기기의 특정을 분석하여 통합형 리모콘의 사례연구를 통해 기기 변환, 제어 방법을 4가지로 정리해 보았다. 또한 조작 대상 기기를 조작 상황인지를 위한 디스플레이 요소, 작동방식 (ON/OFF, OPEN/CLOSE), 사용빈도 등에 따라 3가지로 분류하고 이 3 가지 종류의 조작 방식을 사용할 때, 어떻게 대상기기에 맞게 전환하여 사용할 것인지, 사용자가 어떻게 이 방법에 접근할 수 있는지에 관한 피지컬 트랜지션 아이디어를 도출하는 연구를 진행하였다. 피지컬 트랜지션 아이디어는 현재 출시된 통합형 리모콘의 추출 연구 및 조작 대상 기기의 사용 특성 분류 연구 아이디어 도출 연구 일반 제품의 인터페이스 연구관련 유사 사례 연구를 통해 대안을 개발 제시 하였다. 본 연구는 통합형 리모콘 디자인에서 조작 방식 전환을 위한 디자인 개발 시에 유용하게 쓰여 질 것이라고 기대한다.

  • This study we developed teaching and learning strategy applying PBL based physical computing programming using reflection journal and feedback, and verified its effectiveness. For the analysis, the survey with 18 sections study contents was performed for 6 weeks by dividing 91 students in 5th grade of elementary school into experimental group and control group respectively. As a result, this study proved that the students who made the structured reflections journals and receiving the feedback at the same time showed the improvement in logical thinking ability in the physical computing based programming learning situation with PBL applied. Based on the results of this study, the sophisticated teaching and learning strategy that can enhance the programming learning effect based on physical computing was developed and its applicability was proved.

Hero's journey content and glocal storytelling strategy (영웅서사 콘텐츠와 글로컬 스토리텔링 전략 -웹툰 <좀비가 된 나의 딸>을 중심으로-)

  • This paper aims to explore the glocal storytelling strategy of hero's journey content. Many digital games use hero's journey as a framework. However, it is also true that game storytelling is so common that it is soon recognized as a hero's journey. Therefore, this paper paid attention to the new hero's journey application method of the webtoon . The story created an atypical and Korean character on a typical hero's journey plot. It implements an alternative glocal storytelling aiming at harmony between the region and the world by presenting a regional character on a global universal plot.
