A Query Processing Method for Retrieving Harmonious Binary Colors (조화로운 이진색상 추출을 위한 질의처리 방안)

  • Recently, color harmony that decides the value of design is becoming important. In the paper, we propose a method that allows us to easily use harmonious colors in computer systems. Since existing work has focused on finding new color harmony rules or rules that translate emotional words into colors, a method that models these rules in the computer system has not been discussed in depth. In this paper, we model a color system and color harmony rules as a relational database and queries on this database, respectively.

  • 본 논문에서는 마우스 제어를 위한 손 인식 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위하여 배경영상과 입력영상의 차영상을 이용하여 움직임 영역을 구하고, RGB 컬러모델을 HSV 컬러모델로 변환하여 피부색상과 유사한 영역을 얻는다. 이 둘 사이의 교집합을 통하여 손 후보 영역을 추출하고 모폴로지 연산을 통해 잡음을 제거한 후 손 영상을 추출한다. 추출한 손 영상을 모폴로지 연산을 이용하여 손바닥 영역과 손가락 영역으로 분리한 다음 손바닥 영역의 위치정보를 마우스의 좌표로, 손가락의 개수를 마우스 이벤트로 정의하여 마우스를 제어한다. 실험 결과는 제안된 시스템이 마우스 제어에 효과적으로 사용될 수 있음을 보이고 있다.

A Study on the YCbCr Color Model and the Rough Set for a Robust Face Detection Algorithm (강건한 얼굴 검출 알고리즘을 위한 YCbCr 컬러 모델과 러프 집합 연구)

  • In this paper, it was segmented the face color distribution using YCbCr color model, which is one of the feature-based methods, and preprocessing stage was to be insensitive to the sensitivity for light which is one of the disadvantages for the feature-based methods by the quantization. In addition, it has raised the accuracy of image synthesis with characteristics which is selected the object of the most same image as the shape of pattern using rough set. In this paper, the detection rates of the proposed face detection algorithm was confirmed to be better about 2~3% than the conventional algorithms regardless of the size and direction on the various faces by simulation.

  • In this paper we proposed a vision based realtime hand gesture recognition method. To extract skin color, we translate RGB color space into YCbCr color space and use CbCr color for the final extraction. To find the center of extracted hand region we apply practical center point extraction algorithm. We use Kalman filter to tracking hand region and use HMM(Hidden Markov Model) algorithm (learning 6 type of hand gesture image) to recognize it. We demonstrated the effectiveness of our algorithm by some experiments.

  • 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 영상에서 중심 객체를 추출하기 위해 에지와 색상 정보에서 추출한 특집 지도와 배경의 영향을 줄이기 위친 창조 지도(reference map)를 제안한 것이 특징이다. 특징 지도는 다른 영역과 현저하게 구분되는 영역을 검출하기 위해서 영상의 특징 값(feature)들을 이용해서 구성한 영상이라고 할 수 있다. 그리고 창조 지도는 배경의 영향을 최소화하면서, 객체가 존재할 확률이 높은 부분을 나타내는 지도이다. 제안하는 방법은 밝기 차 정보를 가지고 있는 에지와 YCbCr 컬러모델과 HSV 컬러모델의 색상 성분을 특징 값으로 사용한다. 이들 특징 값을 이용해서 특징 지도를 구성하는 방법으로 영상 내 색상 차에 의해서 나타나는 경계부분을 구하는 방법을 사용한다. 이 방법을 사용하여 에지 지도와 두 개의 색상 지도의 3가지 특징 지도를 생성한다. 다음으로, 영상 배경의 영향을 줄이기 위해 참조 지도를 구한다. 구해진 참조 지도와 특징 지도들을 이용해서 결합 지도(combination map)를 생성한다. 결함 지도로부터 다각형의 객체 후보 영역을 구하고, 객체 후보 영역에 영상분할을 적용하여 중심 객체를 추출한다. 실험에 사용된 영상들은 Corel DB를 사용하였으며, 실험결과로써 precision은 84.3%, recall은 81.3%의 성능을 보인다.

Fast Text Line Segmentation Model Based on DCT for Color Image (컬러 영상 위에서 DCT 기반의 빠른 문자 열 구간 분리 모델)

  • We presented a very fast and robust method of text line segmentation based on the DCT blocks of color image without decompression and binary transformation processes. Using DC and another three primary AC coefficients from block DCT we created a gray-scale image having reduced size by 8x8. In order to detect and locate white strips between text lines we analyzed horizontal and vertical projection profiles of the image and we applied a direct markov model to recover the missing white strips by estimating hidden periodicity. We presented performance results. The results showed that our method was 40 - 100 times faster than traditional method.

Charactor Image Retrieval Using Color and Shape Information (컬러와 모양 정보를 이용한 캐릭터 이미지 검색)

  • In this paper, we propose a new composite feature consists of both color and shape information that are suitable for the task of character image retrieval. This approach extracts shape-based information using Zernike moments from Y image in YCbCr color space. Zernike moments can extract shape-based features that are invariant to rotation, translation, and scaling. We also extract color-based information from the DCT coefficients of Cr and Cb image. This approach is good method reflecting human visual property and is suitable for web application such as large image database system and animation because higher retrieval rate has been achieved using only 36 features. In experiment, this method is applied to 3,834 character images. We confirmed that this approach brought about excellent effect by ANMRR(Average of Normalized, Modified Retrieval Rank), which is used in the evaluation measure of MPEG-7 color descriptor and BEP(Bull's Eye Performance), which is used in evaluation measure of shape descriptor in character image retrieval.

  • Digital watermarking is a technique embedding hidden information into multimedia data imperceptibly such as images and sounds. Generally an original image is transformed and coded watermark data is embedded in frequency domain watermarking models. In this paper, We propose a new color image watermarking technique using Fresnel transform. A watermark image is Fresnel - transformed and the intensity of transformed pattern is embedded into color image. In our watermarking model, an original image is converted from RGB components into YCrCb components and then the values of real number and imaginary number of a Fresnel-transformed pattern of a watermark image are embedded into Y component. The watermarking experiments were conducted to show the validity of the proposed method using PSNR value, and the results show that our method has the robustness against lossy compression like JPEG.

  • This paper proposed the multi characters detection algorithm using Color segmentation and the closing curve feature of LoG Operator in order to complement the demerit of the existing research which is weak in complexity of background, variety of light and disordered line and similarity of left and background color, etc. The proposed multi characters detection algorithm divided into three parts : The feature detection, characters format and characters detection Parts in order to be possible to apply to image of various feature. After preprocess that the new multi characters detection algorithm that proposed in this paper used wavelet, morphology, hough transform which is the synthesis logical model in order to raise detection rate by acquiring the non-perfection characters as well as the perfection characters with processing OR operation after processing each color area by AND operation sequentially. And the proposal algorithm is simulated with natural images which include natural character area regardless of size, resolution and slant and so on of image. And the proposal algorithm in this paper is confirmed to an excellent detection rate by compared with the conventional detection algorithm in same image.

A Study on Game Contents Classification Service Method using Image Region Segmentation (칼라 영상 객체 분할을 이용한 게임 콘텐츠 분류 서비스 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, Classification of characters in a 3D FPS game has emerged as a very significant issue. In this study, We propose the game character Classification method using Image Region Segmentation of the extracting meaningful object in a simple operation. In this method, first used a non-linear RGB color model and octree color quantization scheme. The input image represented a less than 20 quantized color and uses a small number of meaningful color histogram. And then, the image divided into small blocks, calculate the degree of similarity between the color histogram intersection and adjacent block in block units. Because, except for the block boundary according to the texture and to extract only the boundaries of the object block. Set a region by these boundary blocks as a game object and can be used for FPS game play. Through experiment, we obtain accuracy of more than 80% for Classification method using each feature. Thus, using this property, characters could be classified effectively and it draws the game more speed and strategic actions as a result.
