현재 인터넷에는 많은 종류의 검색사이트가 존재하며 이를 통해 보다 쉽게 정보를 이용하고 얻을 수 있다. 또한 대다수 검색사이트의 경우 단순히 검색서비스를 제공하는 사이트로서보다는 전자우편, 쇼핑, 경매 등과 같은 다양한 서비스를 제공하는 포탈(Portal)사이트로 발전해 가고 있다. 이는 한가지 컨텐츠만으로는 인터넷에서 확고한 자리 매김을 할 수 없기에 일어나는 현상으로 보여진다. 그렇지만, 현재 검색사이트가 가진 서비스와 검색에서 활용성에 대한 문제가 있다고 보여진다. 그것은 기존의 검색사이트가 포탈서비스로 전환함에 따라 고유의 기능을 잃거나 포탈의 모형완성에만 노력을 기울여 검색에는 소홀한 것으로 보여진다. 이에 논문에서는 현존하는 한국의 검색사이트들의 현황을 파악하고 이러한 검색사이트들이 어떠한 컨텐츠를 지향하고, 어떠한 방향으로 나아갈 것인가에 대한 분석을 하였다. 이 논문에서는 현재까지 선행되었던 연구들이 검색엔진에 대한 것이었으나 검색사이트의 검색형태나 검색의 능력에 관한 연구가 보고되고 있다. 현재검색사이트가 포탈형태로 나아가고 있는 시점에서 검색사이트의 포탈형태에 대한 연구는 매우 부족하다. 이번 연구에서는 국내의 7개 검색사이트를 중심으로 검색결과와 카테고리 형태에 대하여 분석하고, 제공서비스 측면에서는 메일서비스, 쇼핑서비스의 문제점과 특징적 서비스의 잘못된 방향에 대한 문제점을 파악하고 개선안을 제시하였다.

Changes in internet and network environment make it possible to provide high-quality content services in real time. As demand for digital content is increased, problems related to intellectual property rights are getting more important. Streaming service like video-on-demand solved this problem by preventing content from being saved. But, as the advent of several tools able to save streamed content, the streamed content is not free from these problems any more. So, with security countermeasure like access control, new technologies to control and manage rights for content are needed. One of the solutions is DRM In this paper, we describe a DRM-based streaming service that can send the ASF stream which is the multimedia file format of Microsoft.

현재 무선 인터넷 컨텐츠는 유선 컨텐츠와 호환이 되지 않으며 다양한 종류의 무선 마크업 언어들로 구성되어 있어 무선 컨텐츠를 재구축해야 하는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하기 위해 유선 컨텐츠를 재사용하는 방안으로 XML 기반의 유무선 컨덴츠 변환기를 설계한다. 컨텐츠 변환의 중간 표준포맷으로 XML 문서를 생성하므로 새로운 언어로의 변환을 고려할 때 해당 프리젠테이션 변환모듈만 추가시키면 확장 가능하므로 유지보수가 쉽고 효율적인 변환이 가능하다. 따라서 새로운 표준과 기술 변화에 대응이 용이하며 또한 유선 컨텐츠의 재사용으로 인해 개발비용이 절감되고 개발기간이 단축되므로 빠른 무선 인터넷 시장 진입이 가능해진다.

The advancement of ubiquitous networks facilitates and increases access to the Internet via mobile devices, which offers the advantages of enhanced mobility and accessibility. While Mobile Internet is largely free of temporal and spatial restrictions, producing content for mobile websites is a challenging work due to the existence of multiple device types and markup languages. This paper proposes a technique that makes use of image maps to improve the visual consistency of mobile web content displayed on a variety of mobile devices. The proposed image map method captures several objects comprising the webpage into a single image, and provides the image in Mobile Web services. Mobile devices employing the proposed method can reorganize webpages with multiple objects more easily and obtain the visually identical content on their screen.

본 논문은 시청자 개개인의 선호도 정보(user preference)를 이용하여, 컨텐츠 제공자(content provider)로부터 개인화 된 비디오 요약을 제공받을 수 있는 맞춤형 방송 서비스를 제안한다. 제안하는 방송 서비스는 다채널의 디지털 방송 환경에서 시청자들에게는 채널선택의 편의성과, 컨텐츠 제공자들에게는 시청자들이 자신들의 컨텐츠에 대한 소비를 촉진시키는 기능을 제공한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 개인화 된 비디오 요약 서비스를 제공하기 위해, TV-Anytime에 기반한 사용자 선호도 정보를 이용하는 시스템 스킴(scheme)을 제안한다. 제안하는 방송 서비스의 유효성을 테스트하기 위해 영화 장르의 비디오에 대해서 이벤트(event)들을 세그먼트(segment)하고, 해당 선호도 정보에서 추론된 선호 이벤트 정보에 따라 비디오 요약(video skim)을 생성하고, 시청자 단말에 제공하는 실험을 수행한다.

최근 인터넷의 성장과 CDMA등의 무선 통신의 활성화로 인하여 이동 중인 차량 내에서 다양한 정보를 사용하기 위한 기술이 개발 중이다. 본 논문에서는 차량 단말에 여러가지 텔레매틱스 서비스를 제공하기 위한 차량 단말, 텔레매틱스 서비스 서버, 텔레매틱스 컨텐츠 서버의 3단계 구조를 가지는 텔레매틱스 서비스 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 차량 단말과 서비스 서버 사이의 통신 방법 및 서비스 서버 내의 서비스 응용이 다양한 컨텐츠를 제공하기 위한 프레임워크를 제공한다.

Currently the mobile web service is growing with a tremendous speed and mobile contents are spreading extensively. However, it is hard to search what the user wants because of some limitations of cellular phones. And the music is the most popular content, but many users experience frustrations to search their desired music. To solve these problems, this research proposes a hybrid recommendation system, MOBICORS-music (MOBIle COntents Recommender System for Music). Basically it follows the procedure of Collaborative Filtering (CF) system, but it uses Contents-Based (CB) data representation for neighborhood formation and recommendation of new music. Based on this data representation, MOBICORS-music solves the new item ramp-up problem and results better performance than existing CF systems. The procedure of MOBICORS-music is explained step by step with an illustrative example.

일반적인 비 공유 저장장치를 가진 시스템에서는 특정 컨텐츠에 대한 편향된(skewed) 요청 문제를 피할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 비 공유 저장장치 모델로 설계/구현된 클러스터 기반의 시트리밍 서버에서 사용자의 편향된 컨텐츠 요청에 대처할 수 있고 스트리밍 서비스 중인 서버 또는 NS 카드에 문제가 생기더라도 스트리밍 서비스가 중단되지 않도록 다중 스트리밍 방법인 MDC(Multiple Description Coding)를 적용한 스트리밍 전송방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 클러스터 시스템에서 단일 세션으로 스트리밍 서비스를 제공하는 것이 아니라 MDC 를 활용하여 다중 세션을 통한 스트리밍 서비스를 제공함으로써 모든 서버의 부하가 같아지고, 특정 서버에 문제가 발생하더라도 스트리밍 서비스가 끊어지지 않으면서 MDC 의 특성인 적응형 서비스도 가능하게 되는 장점이 있다.

오늘날 인터넷은 중앙 집중식 웹서버로 컨텐츠들을 서비스하는 방식을 주로 택하고 있으며, 이용자들은 저마다의 홈페이지 서버를 갖길 원하고 있다. 그러나 이런 중앙 집중식 서비스방적을 사용했을 경우 비용적인 측면과 유지 보수 관리적인 문제로 인해 사용자들의 욕구를 제대로 해결해주지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 중앙집중형 웹 컨텐츠 서비스가 아닌 순수한 Peer to Peer 방식의 웹 서비스를 할 수 있는 P2P 웹서버의 개발을 소개하고자 한다. 기본 알고리즘은 Gnutella Protocol을 기본으로 하였으며, 여기에 웹서버를 두고 Gnutella Protocol에서 사용되는 Header외에 웹서버의 존재유무를 파악할 수 있도록 별도로 정의된 Header를 사용하여 쉽게 웹서버의 기능유무 및 위치추적을 가능하게 하였으며, 또한 기존의 Gnutella Protocol과도 호환성을 지니고 있다. 위치 추적 및 검색엔진은 Gnutella Protocol과 유사한 방식을 택했으며, 멀티미디어 파일의 검색 및 업/다운로드가 가능하고, 웹문서의 검색후 원하는 문서를 서비스한다. 즉 Peer가 검색엔진과 클라이언트 및 웹서버의 역할을 동시에 수행하는 순수 P2P 웹 서비스를 개발한다.
