  • A basic concept of TAS(Tractor Appointment System), which not only enhances the terminal productivity, but also yields higher efficiency of domestic CT(Container Terminal), is developed in this paper for CT to more competitive and serviceable. To analyze the effects of TAS when applied to the existing four-tier CT, a quantitative analysis is performed. The results showed that the number of rehandling time of CT has been significantly decreased, the efficiency of CT increased, and the flow time of trucks in CT reduced in a great deal

A Study on the Productivity Changes of the Korean Container Shipping Lines using MPI (MPI를 활용한 국적 외항 컨테이너 선사의 생산성 변화 분석 연구)

  • This study analyzed the changes in the operational productivity of fourteen Korean container lines from 2019 to 2021 using MP I(Malmquist Productivity Index). The results indicated that the operational productivity of the shipping companies has increased by 38.4% annually, representing the TCI (Technical Change Index) increasing by 58.3% and the TECI (Technical Efficiency Change Index) decreasing by 12.6%. The increase in the operational productivity of the container shipping lines was mainly attributed to the high rise in ocean freight rates rather than an increase in fleet size or ship technical efficiency. However, the deep-sea shipping lines (i.e. HMM and SM lines) experienced increases in both the TCI and TECI, which was not the case for other shipping lines(i.e. Intra-Asian short-sea shipping lines). The intra-Asian short-sea shipping lines enhance their productivity due to the TCI but failed to appreciate the cost savings of the increased fleet effects due to the low SECI(Scale Efficiency Change Index) values.

  • The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the quay crane productivity in automated container terminal with perpendicular yard layout. In particular, four quay crane (single trolley/dual trolley/double trolley/supertainer) are considered to evaluate the productivity on the terminal performance. Each quay crane load or unload containers by a different process. For each quay crane, two productivities are considered and compared: mechanical productivity, net productivity. As the net productivity of quay crane is significant, in this paper, an application of simulation model to simulate automated container terminal is developed and a wide variety of computational experiments were conducted.

  • 항만에 위치한 컨테이너 터미널은 수송, 하역, 저장의 기능을 고루 갖춘 대표적인 물류 시스템이다. 터미널이 충분히 제 기능을 수행하여 터미널 생산성을 향상시키기 위해서는 효율적인 레이아웃 설계가 필요하다. 터미널 레이아웃은 초기 터미널 설계단계에서 우선적으로 고려되는 의사결정 부분이며 터미널 운영 및 컨테이너 취급 비용에 중요한 영향을 미치는 요소가 된다. 본 연구에서는 개념 설계에서 구분되어지는 장치장의 배치형태 에서 수평 장치장을 모델로 하였다. 터미널 생산성에 영향을 미치는 이송능력과 적재능력의 효율적인 조정을 위하여, 블록의 배치와 사양에 따른 적재능력과 블록에 설치한 이적지점 개수에 따른 이송능력 대해 시뮬레이션을 통해 분석하고자 한다.

  • Container terminals are various in terms of layout, cargo handling systems and operational aspects resulting in difference in productivity and economic feasibility. Therefore, by evaluating different terminal types, more comprehensive understanding can be grasped. For this the paper aims at evaluating the three terminal types under operation, the conventional terminal, the unmaned terminal and the indented terminal, with respect to productivity and cost. Based on the results in connection with the situation of Korean container terminal operation, feasibility for each type is discussed with suggestion for the optimal type.

  • The productivity of automated container terminals is significantly affected by not only the speed related performances of automated transfer cranes(ATCs) but also the sizes of container blocks. In this paper, it is discussed how to determine the size of import container blocks considering both the container handling times of an ATC and their storage space. Firstly, evaluation models are suggested for the container handling times of an ATC in a typical import container blocks. Secondly, three mathematical formulations are suggested to determine the size of import container blocks. Numerical experiments for the suggested models to determine the size of import container block are provided.

  • Container terminals in Gwangyang Port are facing in domestically and internationally a lot of changes including opening of Busan New Port and China ports. Compared to new ports, container terminals in Gwangyang Port possess old equipment and facilities. Therefore, in order for Gwangyang Port to maintain its service level and remain competitive, it needs to undergo remodeling to enhance productivity economically. Remodeling activities should be implemented on a continual basis by developing and applying new technologies such as those for gate system, yard system, berth system. In order to review the alternative, we performed questionnaire survey and expert interview. From the results of analysis, we suggested remodeling technology alternatives, priority of remodeling and improvement effect by remodeling introduction stage.

  • 최근 컨테이너 선박의 대형화는 물동량을 크게 증가 시켰으며, 이로 인해 컨테이너 터미널에서는 규모의 경제를 달성하고, 선사의 요구를 만족시키기 위해 노력하고 있다. 이에 대한대안이 양현부두(Indented berth)의 등장이다. 양현부두에는 대형 컨테이너선의 물량을 신속히 처리하기 위해 선석에서 컨테이너를 취급하는 장비인 안벽크레인(Quay Crane : QC)의 작업 대수가 일반부두(Conventional berth)보다는 많이 할당될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 일반부두와 양현부두의 작업 생산성을 비교하였다. 이를 위하여 탐색기법인 GRASP(Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedure)를 적용한 안벽크레인 일정계획 알고리즘을 이용하였다. 또한 컨테이너 터미널의 실제 자료를 이용하여 두 가지 형태의 부두에서의 본선작업 완료시간을 비교 하였다.

컨테이너터미널 계획을 위한 시뮬레이션 통합관리시스템의 설계

  • 지금까지 컨테이너터미널을 계획하면서 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 소요자원의 규모나 생산성 등을 분석하려는 연구는 많이 진행되어왔다. 그렇지만 컨테이너터미널의 구성 요소에 대한 전제 조건이 부족한 경우에 도입 가능한 다양한 컨테이너 취급 시스템과 그에 관련된 배치안 및 운영 알고리즘의 조합으로 구성되는 모든 대안들을 시뮬레이션하여 비교 평가하기 위해서는 많은 비용과 시간이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 상세 분석이 필요한 대상을 선정하기 위해 개발 조건을 고려한 컨테이너터미널의 적정 처리능력, 대안별 시설 규모 및 위치 그리고 하역 장비의 종류 및 운영대수 등을 대략적으로 계획하고 시뮬레이션 분석과 운영정보가 이에 체계적으로 연결되어 효율적인 의사결정을 할 수 있게 정보와 흐름을 통합 관리하는 시스템을 설계하는 것이다. 통합관리시스템은 수행 역할에 따라 프로젝트 관리, 운영정보 관리, 능력계획, 배치계획 그리고 시뮬레이션의 모듈들로 구성된다. 본 논문에서는 각 구성모듈의 기능과 모듈간의 입출력 정보를 정의하였고 시뮬레이션에서 필요한 주요 객체 및 제어 흐름을 설계하기 위해 개체지향방법론의 표준인 UML을 이용하였다.
