Case Study of Video Work Connecting with Fans : the TV series Making Full Use of Convention (팬과 소통하는 영상작품의 사례 연구 : 컨벤션(convention)을 적극적으로 이용하는 TV 시리즈 <수퍼내추럴(Supernatural)>)

  • Into the 1990s, there have been changes in perception of pop culture consumers by making a distinction between groups that are active, critical and creative. This study aims to establish a theoretical reasoning for conventions organized and participated voluntarily by fans, which has been especially noticeable in the American subculture for a long time, while investigating how fans and all the parties concerned interact at conventions then to expand the imaginary world. To this end, an analysis has been carried out on the conventions for the particular American TV series of Supernatural. The results show that the reason for this drama series maintaining such enduring vitality as if a living thing is attributable to the special bond of sympathy developed between fans and actors and the following interactions between them. Furthermore, in the aspect of cultural sociology, a piece of work can only be completed through unconstrained interpretation of the work and the resultant recreation by the creator and the receiver, which has been ascertained by this study.

  • Holding conventions and exhibitions are deemed as a highly valued-added services. The conventions and exhibitions industry (CEI) contributes to the development of the region in which the venues are located by creating jobs, boosting the local economics, attracting dollars and increasing tax incomes. At the same time, the international awareness of the region rises after holding an international exhibition or convention. This study investigated the effects of outsourcing services quality that employed by corporations organizing conventions and exhibitions on business performance and customer satisfaction of organizing corporations. It was found that many convention organizing corporations relied on outsourcing services for the most of the process. Given that the staff members of outsourcing companies serve as the major source of services for events, the quality of their services has much effects on the business results of hiring corporations. In this study, major factors influencing the service quality and the importance of the service quality were addressed. And the ideas for effective method for controlling the outsourcing sources were also suggested for hiring corporations and outsourcing companies.

  • This paper is focused on the service quality of Buan Masil Festival. The objectives of the research were to explore whether or not the service quality of local festival affects overall satisfaction and revisit intention Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires at the 4th Buan Masil Festival on May 6-8, 2015. A total of 373 valid samples were used for the analysis. The results of the study indicate that service quality of program, souvenir, and facility lead to visitors' satisfaction, and visitors' satisfaction influenced revisit intention. The results concludes with a discussion of implication for future research.

  • One of the fastest growing sector in tourism industry is MICE industry due to globalization among the countries in various parts including business, politics, and cultural exchange. The objectives of this research can be in two fold: firstly, to evaluate the convention service quality and categorize them into three groups, basic service, performance service and exciting service; secondly, to provide the exciting service as a recovery program to restore customer satisfaction and their intention to reuse when the basic or performance service failure occurs. The results are as follows: among the four dimensions of the service quality, only the availability of information and the employee's performance were effected by the exciting service quality. Secondly, employees's performance can only be effected by the exciting service when customer service factor is included prior to the events. Thirdly, the following dimensions of services were not selected to be effective by the exciting services: conditions of physical facility, related infra-structure, the process of customer service and the program. Fourthly, only the additional services and events were selected to be the effective exciting services for the recovery program.

박람회 결산-"2008 대한민국 주류박람회" 성황리에 마쳐

  • 8월 21일 부터 24일 까지 4일간 대한주류공업협회 주최, 국세청 후원으로 서울 삼성동 코엑스 3층 컨벤션홀에서 개최된 '2008 대한민국 주류박람회'(KOREA ALCOHOL & LIQUOR EXPO 2008)가 성황리에 막을 내렸다. '술과 문화의 페스티벌' 이라는 주제로 열린 금번 박람회는 소주, 맥주, 위스키, 약주, 과실주, 전통주 등 국내 주류업체 84개사와 독일, 중국, 러시아, 아르헨티나, 일본, 도미니카공화국, 스리랑카 7개국이 참가하여 다양한 주류제품 전시 및 시음, 이벤트 활동을 통해 적극적인 마케팅 활동을 전개하였다. 행사기간 동안 일반인, 언론인, 국내외 바이어, 주류관련 종사자등 3만여 명의 많은 관람객이 박람회장을 방문하여 전국 각지에서 생산되는 다양한 종류의 술의 맛과 향을 체험하고 아울러 다채로운 이벤트 행사를 통해 흥겨운 시간을 가졌으며, 주류의 역사.종류.제조과정, 건전음주체험 등 술에 대한 다양한 정보를 얻는 기회가 되었다. 또한 건전음주문화 조성, 주류제조기술 및 주류산업 활성화 주제의 세미나와 한국양조과학회 정기학술대회가 열려 주류산업 종사자, 연구원, 학생 및 주류에 관심을 가지고 있는 일반인들에게 정보 및 의견 교환의장을 제공하였다.

참관기 - Power-Gen International 참관기

  • 'Power-Gen International(이하 'PGI)'은 세계 최대의 전력산업 전시회 중 하나로 매년 말 미국에서 개최된다. 올해에는 플로리다주 올랜도 오렌지카운티 컨벤션센터에서 원자력과 신재생에너지 분야까지 포함해 '2014 Power-Gen International/Nuclear Power International/Renewable Energy World'라는 이름으로 행사가 성대히 개최됐다. 이번 전시회에는 전 세계 90개국에서 2만2,000여 명이 참관하고, 다양한 분야에서 200편 이상의 기술발표와 분야별 세미나가 진행되는 등 세계 최대의 전시회라는 명성을 어김없이 보여줬다. 대한전기협회에서는 전력산업 관련 최신 기술동향을 파악하고, 세계 유명기업과 중소 제조사와의 교류확대, 신제품 파악 등을 위해 매년 전력산업계 관계자들을 참관단으로 모집해 PGI에 매년 참가하고 있다. 올해도 전기협회는 한전, 한수원 등 전력그룹사 및 SK E&S, 현대그린파워 등 산업계 관계자 약 30여명의 참관단을 이끌고 PGI에 참가했다. PGI를 직접 다녀온 관계자들의 참관기를 소개한다.

Analysis on the Satisfaction by MICE Participants in Busan Metropolitan (부산 MICE 참가자의 만족도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic data to establish MICE(meeting, incentive, convention, exhibition) marketing strategies in Busan Metropolitan by examining its satisfaction level. Surveys were conducted for participants of 10 cases of Meetings, Incentive, Conventions and Exhibition in Busan Metropolitan. A time series analysis was performed by its data from 2002 to 2008. Research findings showed that accomodations, facilities and MICE operation were highly scored, while connected tour, shopping, easy access to airport, and interpretation were scored relatively low. Especially connected tour was scored very low. Therefore, we should concentrate on tourism attractions and tourism information services to improve visitors satisfactions. Second, we should develop shopping items to improve satisfactions of MICE visitors. Since this study only targeted the 10 MICEs they cannot represent the entire MICEs in Busan and absolute comparison was difficult because of different content and size of each MICE, which could be the limitation of this study.

  • This study is an exploratory study on the sustainable management of MICE events, and was conducted using the FGI method. Twelve experts in the MICE field, industry, and academia were selected as the subjects of the study. The reason is that understanding and specialty of those targets provides research reliability and validity. The study period was 3 months from June to August 2021. As a result, it is very important to prepare a sustainable development strategy in the MICE industry, and in particular, the need for guidelines to be practiced during event operation from the organizer's point of view was derived. In addition, to derive items that can be used in practice based on the theoretical basis, and it was necessary to derive research results using internationally recognized Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) and sustainable MICE research developed in the fields of tourism and MICE. Therefore, through the verification of such experts in the field of MICE, theoretical and practical guidelines from the perspective of the organizer that can be used when holding MICE were developed. The results of the study will provide implications for establishing more effective strategies for hosting sustainable MICE events in the future.

Market Segmentation and Characteristics by Fair Participants evaluation Quality - Based on Korean Medicine-Bio Fair 2014 Jecheon Korea - (박람회 품질평가에 따른 시장세분화 및 특성분석 - 2014 제천한방바이오 방문객 대상 -)

  • This study was to segment The 2014 Korean Medicine-Bio Fair visitors based on fair quality factors. From the on-site survey at the destination, a total of 308 useful sample were collected and analyzed in SPSS 21.0. From factor analysis, the result shows 5 quality types of 'fair product', 'convenient facilities', 'accessibility', 'promotional information' and 'contents.' Also Three different segmented groups were derived form clusters analysis, which are 'accessibility preference group', 'promotion preference group', and 'high quality preference group.' The result of this study indicated that there were significant differences in demographic, satisfaction and behavioral variables between these three segments. More theoretical and practical implication were discussed in the conclusion section.
