A Study on Promotion plans of the Cultural Contents Industry from a Perspective of Simulacre - Focused on Characters - (시뮬라크르 관점에서 문화컨텐츠산업의 활성화 방안에 관한 연구 -캐릭터를 중심으로-)

  • In the 21st century, a nation's industrial success will depend on her cultural industry. Thus, Korea has been investing much in the cultural contents industry, expecting high. A nation's potential in the industrial contents industry will be determined by 1) IT infrastructure, 2) digital convergence, 3) rich cultural heritage and 4) government's effective policies. Nevertheless, our cultural contents industry is not as much homogeneous as that of the United States or Japan, but only some parts of it have grown much. So, our cultural contents industry is not very stable, which means that it would grow in a short term but not in a long term. One of the ways to promote the cultural contents industry effectively may be derived from Jean Baudrilliard's theory of simulacra. The aim of this study is to review the ultimate simulacra required of our cultural contents industry, focusing on Disneyland which Jean Baudrilliard emphasizes as the most perfect simulacra.

Adaptation of Contextual Research on Elderly Users' Needs in Using Mobile Phone (문맥적 조사기법을 적용한 고령사용자의 휴대폰 관련 요구사항 도출에 관한 연구)

  • 디지털 컨버전스가 가속화됨에 따라 휴대폰의 기능은 나날이 복잡해져 가고 있으며, 이러한 경향은 사람들에게 자신에게 불필요한 기능까지 익혀야 하는 불편함을 초래하고 있다, 특히, 단순한 통화방식에 익숙하고 인지적으로 새로운 것을 유연하게 받아들이지 못하는 고령 사용자들에게도 이미 생활필수품이 된 휴대폰은 사용하는데 어렵고 불편한 부분이 많이 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국의 고령사용자들을 대상으로 휴대폰 사용에 있어 문맥적, 정성적 조사(Contextual & Qualitative research)기법을 적용하여 평소 그들이 일상생활에서 느끼는 휴대폰 관련 요구사항을 도출하고자 하였다. 조사는 세 단계로 이루어졌다. 먼저, 휴대폰을 사용 중인 60대 이상 고령사용자 83명을 대상으로 사용 현황 및 수준을 파악하고 적절한 사용자를 섭외하기 위한 설문을 진행하였으며, 둘째, 초보사용자 8명, 중급사용자 3명을 대상으로 휴대폰 사용 기록을 기반으로 하는 심층인터뷰를 진행하였으며, 초보사용자들을 대상으로는 문자메세지, 전화번호부, 카메라 폰 기능 교육 세션을 통한 행동 관찰법을 시행하였다. 마지막으로, 교육 세션 한달 후, 사용성 평가와 추가 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 이상과 같이 장기간에 걸친 사용자 조사를 통해, 고령사용자들의 휴대폰 사용에 있어 심리, 문화적 특이사항과 인터랙션 상의 불편요소들을 발견할 수 있었으며, 수집된 동영상 데이터를 분석하여 고령사용자의 휴대폰 관련 요구사항을 신체적 요인, 인지적요인, 심리적 요인의 세가지로 구분하여 제시하였다. 본 연구에서는 문맥적, 정성적 사용자 조사를 통해 고령사용자들의 일상생활에서의 휴대폰 관련 요구사항을 도출함으로써 풍부하고 실증적인 경험데이터를 수집할 수 있었다. 이와 같이 도출된 요구사항 데이터는 이후 고령사용자를 위한 유니버설 디자인 휴대폰 개발 전략수립과 UI 디자인 개발에 활용되었다. 뿐만 아니라, 이 연구는 휴대폰 사용 경험 연구에 적용할 수 있는 문맥적 조사기법 프로세스의 사례를 제시하고 있다는데 의의가 있다고 하겠다.

  • Enterprises utilize software development strategically within digital convergence of information technology. Software development direction of IT takes advantage of new technology through integration of across-the-board data and business process standardization and integration. But, software development environment of enterprises which globalization is accelerated gradually is doing cost-cutting effort with controls and administration about various reform activity. Nevertheless, have not normalized in customer's requirement according to project, there is visual point that excessive software development integration work and administration are necessary according as connection is not harmonious with new system. Therefore, in this study, to construct these real-time integration environment, do to propose database implementation that have productivity by deent,ing N-Tiers platform for building enterprise framework with development productivity presentation, middle(business) and data(EIS) tier that take advantage of MVC design pattern.

  • We are now in the era of digital convergence with CE products and PC at the center, but product diversification occurs in the same breath. Each device may perform its own functions itself independently, but proportion of the inter-device usage is increasing gradually by concept of a home network and ubiquitous widely prevailed. The consumer's need of inter-device connection will take the dominative position of the market. Therefore, we can easily forecast that diversification of the products may inevitably lead connectivity patterns complicated considering recent market situation and trends. In this paper, we propose the methodology for designing inter-device connectivity which covers issues such like segmenting numerous number of connectivity pattern, and establishing their structure of control. Our methodology also supports the inter-device connection with extensive latitudes and a multi-device simultaneous control. In order to present inter-device connectivity guideline, we define four stages of a user experience - Connection, Configuration, Use, Disconnection. Based on the 4 user experience stages, we suggest a specific connectivity designing guideline for each step.

  • The current study investigated the position of future strategy analyzed from the perspective of design management in relation to 10 strategic industries implemented through 3 steps based on promising growth and advancement of Busan industries and evidence provided from a study on the development program of design industry in Busan. It elucidated the role of design industry as a key role from the perspective of design management in an age of creative revolution of futures values. It analyzed the associations between composition of future strategy and design industry in 10 strategic industries of Busan, and explained the relationships with the strategic industries. The perspective of design management involves that design as a ground of values is an industry of the future values, which performs a key strategic function and role, and a theoretical investigation examined the relationships between main functions of design management and business management. Chapter 3 organized items proposed in the design development program in Busan and examined goals and systems which become basic formation of establishment of design strategy in Busan and conditions for design industry in the associations with strategic industry. Chapter 4 described priorities of practicability by step through analyzing and grouping top 30 projects in Busan industry including meanings as key strategy, position relations, and policy priorities by analyzing elements of design management of strategic industry and describing and analyzing the concept of promoting Busan design. The theme of the present study is to change perception of design management as a key value and a condition to decide creativity industry into future industry and to evaluate vision of Busan design industry and meanings proposed as proceeding strategy. The early 21st century is an age when agrarian society has changed into industrial society is dominated by knowledge economy of the information revolution and one should prepare for the growth phase of creative innovation based on creative revolution of the 4th wave of creative society by design management which has become a center in 2000s on the whole. With the advent of creative paradigm and based on the function and role of the current creative economy age new innovation DNA of design management will be created. Design process has changed through information and knowledge-oriented trends of digital through convergence between industries from industrial design to convergence of industries, and it is expected that integrated design of value creation using information and technology will play a key role in Busan design industry development and top 10 strategic industries.

  • The expansion of media is in close connection with the expansion of awareness. The invention of characters enabled mankind to cross over time and space. Machines led to the development of body functions and electricity led to the expansion of space and time. Computers are the extension of the human brain and the advent of the internet led to the expansion of relationships. Even at this moment, media is unremittingly progressing like a spread of a mutant virus, and has resulted in fusion and complex phenomena such as convergence and hybrid media. Transmedia is a compound word formed by the word "Trans" which means traverse, transcend, penetrate or change, and the word "Media" and has the meaning "media which transcends media" which embraces all of modern day media. However, unlike other fusion or complex media, it is different in that it is not a combination of technologies but a combination of technology and emotion. Thus, transmedia should be recognized as a form of media that carries a significant meaning from the user experience aspect as it must simultaneously satisfy both "emotional awareness", which appeals to the human emotion, and "conscious awareness" of mankind, which arises out of the digital technology considered to be important in the smart-era society. This study first examines the concept of transmedia, and then examines the role of user experience design which triggers conscious thinking and strategies for emotional marketing. This study aims to be recognized as a matter for consideration with respect to the development stage for the establishment of a steady communication relationship between developers and designers, as well as communication with users.

Usability Comparative Testing of Pointing Input Devices on a Small-Sized Mobile Computing Device - Focused on Trackpoint and Touchpad - (이동형 컴퓨팅 기기에서의 포인팅 입력 장치의 사용성 비교연구 - 트랙포인터와 터치패드를 중심으로 -)

  • PDA(Personal Digital Assistants) and laptop computer that are small sized mobile implements are typical devices which capable of using wireless internet. They seem to have a tendency to possess multi-function as well as to miniaturize in accordance with taking advantage of today's digital convergence circumstance. It should be considered that the pointing input device of these mobile computer that have PDA size and laptop's performance has to be added to something very small instead of 4-button, 5-button navigator and with the electric pen. The basic framework for this study is to investigate the usability of the two input devices Trackpoint and Touchpad which regarded as a alternative pointing device for small sized mobile computer. 14 novice subjects compared a Trackpoint to a Touchpad across five curser-control tasks. The study found that subjects executed not more slowly with a Trackpoint input device than with the Touchpad. Observation shows that learning for Trackpoint appears to have had more than for the Touchpad. Subjects expressed preference for the Trackpoint in general work.
