  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze university students' types of spatial consumptive decision behavior in order to provide a guideline on development of creative squares on campus. In particular, it is investigated how student's general characteristics, such as gender, age and major, awareness of creative squares, and preferred spatial types have influence on types of spatial decision consumptive behavior. In addition, correlations among the factors and types are analyzed. As a specific method for gathering information, a questionnaire composed of 46 questions was drawn up to conduct a survey of 206 students of S University in Seoul. The collected data from the survey were analyzed using SPSS windows v17.0. Based on a few previous works, the spatial consumptive decision behavior is classified into four types with Crombach ${\alpha}=0.794$ : 'Exploration' type, 'Experience' type, 'Showing-off type, and 'Trend-Following' type. The main results of this paper can be summarized as follows. First, all factors that affect spatial consumptive decision behavior are more or less correlated with one another. Second, awareness of creative square is significantly different according to the age and major of students. Third, in general, the 'Exploration' type embraces the largest number of students, followed by 'Experience' type, 'Showing-off type, and 'Trend-Following' type. Fourth, the portion of students belonging to each type is a little different according to the major of students. Finally, each type of spatial consumptive decision behavior is highly correlated with the gender and preferred spatial types of students. It was also found that all types of students prefer three to five specific spatial types. Accordingly, the identified spatial types can be exploited in developing a creative square in campus. The results of this paper are expected to expedite follow-up research on creative squares on campus under various conditions.

  • The purpose of this study is to grasp the characteristics of user''''s response to perceived safety and visual preferences for outdoor green spaces by the types of campus layouts. This research was investigated by color slide ratings and questionnaire survey to the students who are majoring in Landscape architecture in three universities locating at Taegu area. Two research sites have similarities in many ways but have differences in campus land form and design type such as ''''Closed'''' and ''''Open'''' types. Major results were summarised as follows ; 1. As a result of the slide test, the high degree of visual preference was shown in the campus that is ''''Closed'''' type. However the degree of perceived safety was lower than that of in Youngnam Univ. campus. 2. According to the result of the comparative analysis between user''''s perceived safety and visual preferences in each campus, the degree of perceived safety at ''''Closed'''' type was lower than that of ''''Open'''' type, but the degree of visual satisfactioni was higher at ''''Closed'''' type. 3. The factors affecting visual preference in campus were shown as density of wood, land form, and diverse type of the spaces. On the other hand, the factors affecting perceived safety were ''''enclosed space by wood'''' at the day time, and ''''the condition of lighting'''' at night. 4. Regarding gender differences in sensation of each space variables, female users showed higher satisfactio on the scenic beauty. 5. Regression analysis showed that general satisfation was determined by the variables such as ''''arrangement'''', familiarity'''', ''''cleanness'''', and ''''closed feeling'''', in Kyungbook Univ. And in Youngnam Univ. , the variables were ''''texture'''', ''''perceived beauty'''', ''''cleanness'''', and ''''complexity'''' respectively. 6. In conclusion, campus users wanted the outdoor spaces that have various land form and somewhat ''''open-closed'''' mixture type, which has a good ''''Edge Effect'''' to satisfy both aspects in safety and visual preferneces.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the status of medical service use of foreigners living in Korea by their nationality and types of national health insurance. As of 2018, 1,058,886 people were extracted from the qualification DB, excluding people whose insurance premium is missing. The data analysis showed that nearly 78% of foreigners with national health insurance used medical services and the countries with the largest number of users were China, Vietnam, and the United States. The total cost of treatment per capita was highest in the United States regardless of hospitalization and outpatient. The number of medical treatments per person, and the medical expenses of outpatients & inpatients services were highest among the regionally-insured and the length of stay per person was highest among the workers' dependents. Lastly, it was found that Chinese and regionally-insured received much more benefits than other groups compared to the premium they pay. After July 2019, foreign nationals residing in Korea for six months or longer are obligated to enroll in the national health insurance program. Since the latest data was in 2018, the result did not properly reflect the current situation, but it is meaningful that it made basic data for future comparative analysis.

  • RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) is a technique used for providing global patterns of transcriptomes in samples. However, it can only provide the average gene expression across cells and does not address the heterogeneity within the samples. The advances in single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) technology have revolutionized our understanding of heterogeneity and the dynamics of gene expression at the single-cell level. For example, scRNA-seq allows us to identify the cell types in complex tissues, which can provide information regarding the alteration of the cell population by perturbations, such as genetic modification. Since its initial introduction, scRNA-seq has rapidly become popular, leading to the development of a huge number of bioinformatic tools. However, the analysis of the big dataset generated from scRNA-seq requires a general understanding of the preprocessing of the dataset and a variety of analytical techniques. Here, we present an overview of the workflow involved in analyzing the scRNA-seq dataset. First, we describe the preprocessing of the dataset, including quality control, normalization, and dimensionality reduction. Then, we introduce the downstream analysis provided with the most commonly used computational packages. This review aims to provide a workflow guideline for new researchers interested in this field.

  • Recently, domestic universities have become more competitive among universities due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the rapid decline of population. As a result, universities are making great efforts to improve university service quality to enhance university competitiveness as they change from supplier-centered thinking to consumer-centered thinking. Despite the increasing importance of university service quality, research on service quality is mainly focused on companies, and research on service quality in the university education environment is insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to examine the influence relationship between university service quality, trust, reputation, and behavior intention. The results of this study are as follows. First, among the service quality of university, tangibility, assurance, and empathy were found to have a positive (+) effect on the trust of the university, but reliability was found to have no significant effect on the trust of the university. Second, among the service quality of university, tangibility, reliability, and empathy were found to have a positive (+) effect on the reputation of the university, but assurance was found to have no significant effect on the reputation of the university. Third, it was found that the trust of the university had a positive (+) effect on the behavior intention. Fourth, it was found that the university's reputation had a positive (+) effect on the behavior intention. Through the above research results, this study aims to derive an effective management plan for university service quality and to present a plan for establishing a differentiated operating strategy for universities that can respond to students' learning needs and changes in the times in the rapidly changing university education environment.
