A Study on Construction Plan for Character Archives (캐릭터 아카이브 구축 방안 연구)

  • In modern society, the economic and cultural influence of characters is increasing day by day. However, there is no comprehensive records management system for characters in Korea. The purpose of this study is to identify the necessity of comprehensive character records management system and requirements for records producers and users, and suggest a construction plan for archives that reflects this idea. Related cases in domestic and overseas were identified and analyzed, survey was conducted of character designers and users participating in the '2017 Character Licensing Fair' in order to understand their needs on character archives, and it was followed by interviews of two character designers. From the implications of the related cases and the analysis results of the questionnaire survey and the interviews, plans for records collection, management, and services were suggested for constructing character archives. Specifically, preparation of collection policy, insertion of watermark to prevent pirating, online sales of characters, and one-stop service that can provide licensing for copyright protection and record utilization were suggested.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of using game character Maengseung in game content and to present the method. At first we made a study on the Maengseung's history and cultural status of Korean folklore. Based on this, we reviewed the value and utilization of the character as a cultural prototype in the game content and proposed the basic components of character creation according to the folk cultural characteristics of the character.

  • The significance of leisure activities is highlighted, and professional baseball games, which featured the 2008 Beijing Olympics gold medal, are very popular. In recent years, along with the revenue from broadcasting, the club has been trying to gain revenue by developing various licensing products and merchandising products. However, sports related products are more advanced than Japanese professional baseball teams in Korea, and there is a lot of revenue from product sales. We want to compare the difference between the two countries sales of their products.

  • This study is intended to compare and analyze the figurative characteristics of game characters focusing on the MMO shooting game 'Battle Ground' and the MOVA game 'League of Legends,' which currently have the largest number of users in Korea, in order to assess how much effect the figurative shape of game characters has on the immersion of players. As a result, the shape of characters from MOVA or MMORPG games with storytelling as an important factor was revealed to have a greater effect on the immersion degree of players than that of the characters from fast-paced shooting games. In particular, it was found that in games where the level of each character is raised as items are added, the height of most characters is the same as their own eight or nine heads, which is longer than ordinary people.

  • 온라인 게임에서 불법 프로그램을 이용한 게임 봇을 대규모로 운영하는 전문 사설 업체를 속칭 '작업장(Gold Farming Group, GFG)'이라고 부른다. 기존에 작업장에서 운영하는 게임 봇은 24시간 쉬지 않고 반복적인 파밍을 통해 수익을 극대화하는 전략을 취했으나 최근 온라인 게임의 계정 가입이 쉬워지고 무료 플레이가 보편화되면서 개개의 게임 봇 계정이 수행하는 플레이 시간이나 취득 재화 수준을 낮추는 대신 수만 개의 계정을 번갈아 가며 운영하는 방식으로 변하고 있다. 이로 인해 플레이 활동 패턴에 기반한 기존의 탐지 모델들이 점차 무력화되고 있으며 진입 초기에 게임 봇을 빠르게 탐지하고 제재하는 방안이 점차 중요해지고 있다. 우리는 게임 봇을 조기에 탐지하기 위한 방안으로 계정 및 캐릭터의 이름이 갖는 특성을 활용한 게임 봇 탐지 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 기법의 유효성을 검증하기 위해 북미에서 서비스 중인 엔씨소프트의 MMORPG인 '블레이드 앤 소울'의 약 20만 개 계정 정보를 이용해 탐지 성능을 측정하였다. 실험에 의하면 캐릭터 이름에 대해 간단한 나이브 베이즈 분류기를 적용하는 것만으로도 AUC 기준으로 약 0.901의 성능을 기록하였다.

  • As the focus of game market moves to mobile era, payment on cyber money, specifically for Gacha system, possesses a large portion for creating profit in game industry. For this reason, this study mainly focuses on Puzzle and Dragon, the mobile game of Gungho online entertainment in Japan, which has made enormous profit for several years. The analysis on consumer sentiment for Gacha are categorized as below: (1) gambling mentality and cognitive error in stochastic game in God festival (2) reactional psychology for scarcity message in limited time God festival and collaboration (3) personal satisfaction through friend system and character collection.

  • Today the distribution of characters in the consumer market based on digital smart phones is expanding, and the characters themselves are sold with independent merchandise, also various application researches about character are being activated. However, depending on the style of worker 's work on the design process of Korea and China regarding characters, there are differences in design characteristics and the diversity of work. In this study, we attempted to investigate the implications of these designers on the development of creative character design through in-depth research and experiment. Therefore, previous researches of cognitive science were investigated and cognitive experiments were conducted on design process for experts. For this research experiment, the initial sketch stage in the character work of Korea and China was recorded by the method of the designer by the subject through the protocol analysis method which is the qualitative research method. We coded the collected language based on this recording experiment and analyzed the problem behavior. We examined how the cognitive acts are done by the designer to develop the characters. The behavior characteristics and the accidental characteristics. The differences of the behavioral characteristics and the accidental characteristics in each step of the character design process were identified. Through these cognitive experiments, we could examine the behavior analysis of the design thinking process in Korea and China. In the field of design practice, we can set the direction of the design work process of the two countries and help us to produce creative and individual results. I think. These studies are expected to contribute to practical application of product marketing and new cooperation development methods in terms of activation of character industry in the future.

Accordingly it features very unique characterizing. This study focused on the fact that numerous characters in maintain a structural balance through the establishment of a character composition in an antipodal relationship although those characters have strong personalities. In order to analyze the relationship of such characters, the study utilized as an analytic frame MBTI personality types theory which is a psychology test tool. First, the study inferred personality patterns as the temperamental characteristics of MBTI, and tried to analyze the antipodal character composition based on the combination of cognition and judgment which are assumably the most important functions. From this, the study was able to discover the following three structures applied to those characters. (1) The antipodism between Musasi, the main character and Kojiro, a mirror character becomes central to the work, (2) The antipodal relationship between their fosterers and the character playing the mentor's role extends the character attribute of Musasi and Kojiro. (3) The Yoshioka family was also established in the antipodal composition as a role of exchanging influences with Musasi and Kojiro. Through this, the study reached a conclusion that in the pairs of characters in contrast were established as if to reach a dialectic synthesis. As such, the antipodal structuralization of the character composition shown in is deemed to differentiate the inner sides of numerous unique characters; thereby make it possible to describe their inner sides in-depth. Finally, the following common context is found: works in the field of successful comics and animation in terms of criticism and performance are focused on characters. It is probably because their consumers are relatively very interested in those characters as the characters in comics or animation become differentiated from those of novels or movies. Subsequently, it is expected that the analyzed results of characterizing can be referred to during the production of contents by preparing the results as database.
