  • Recently, as it has greatly increased the demand on the serviceability of subway, cable tunnel and underground storage, the stability of tunnel structures has been attracting the concern of engineers and researchers. Thus the aim of the present study is to evaluate acid attack resistance of shotcrete using in tunnel structures. And, in order to understand the deterioration mechanism, test using scanning electron microscopy(SEM) analysis and X-ray diffraction showed that the deterioration mechanism due to acid attack in shotcrete.

  • Damage of hydraulic concrete structures by the abrasion and erosion process is very severe and it indicates that the necessity of considering the influence of this process while designing concrete mixtures. Abrasion wear of concrete in hydraulic structures is caused by the movement of particles, water-borne debris. The resistance against erosion for high-strength self-consolidating concrete(SCC) was examined in this paper. A newly designed testing method is presented in order to quantitatively estimate the erosion of concrete. It was shown that loss of volume in abraded concrete can be explained as function of material parameters such as the amount of fly ash and blast furnace slag. Those admixtures have been widely used to reduce heat of hydration and improve resistance against sulfate attack. The results of current study can be used as a guideline in selecting the composition of concrete exposed to abrasion-wear.

  • Shotcrete have become a deterioration which is used in the underground such as groundwater and soil in sulfate ion. Sulfate attack on concrete structures in service is not widespread, and the amount of laboratory-based research seems. to be disproportionately large. In this study, immersion test using $Na_2SO_4$ solution($1,2,5\%$) was performed to evalute the resistance of shotcrete. From the results of the immersion test for 112 days of exposure. In order to understand the deterioration mechanism due to seawater attack, test using scanning electron microscopy(SEM) analysis and X-ray diffraction showed that the deterioration mechanism due to sulfate attack in shotcrete.

  • This study is to test effects of sulfate attack on deterioration of cement mortar. Four tests have been carried out with four types of mortars mixed by ordinary portland cement and sulfate-resistant portland cement containing blast-furnace slag and fly-ash. It was immersed in sulfate solution for 7, 28, 91, and 180 days. from the test results, sulfate attack resistance of cement mortar was improved by admixtures (blast-furnace slag and fly-ash), sulfate-resistance portland cement mortar showed high resistance than ordinarily portland cement at compressive strength, and similar the resistance of sulfate attack with ordinarily portland cement mortar with admixtures.

시멘트 경화체의 황산염침식 저항성 평가 (Evaluation on Sulfate Attack Resistance of Cement Matrix)

  • Compressive strength, sulfate deterioration factor(SDF) and length change of 5 types of mortars immersed in sodium sulfate solution were observed. As the results of tests, it was found that the sulfate resistance of blended cement mortars were superior to that of portland cement mortars. Pore volume with diameter larger than 0.1 $\mu\textrm{m}$ of 5 types of pastes indicated that the micro-structures of blended cement pastes were denser, due to pozzolan reaction and latent hydraulic properties, than those of portland cement pastes. The XRD, ESEM, EDS and TG analyses demonstrated that the reactants such as ettringite and gypsum were significantly formed in portland cement pastes. Besides, compared with the $Ca(OH)_2$ content of ordinary portland cement pastes immersed in water and sodium sulfate solution, the $Ca(OH)_2$ contents of fly ash blended cement and ground granulated blast-furnace slag cement paste were about 58% and 28% in water, and 55% and 20% in sodium sulfate solution, respectively.

해수 내 캐비테이션-침식 저항성에 미치는 스테인리스강의 Nb 첨가의 영향 (Cavitation-erosion Resistance of Stabilized Stainless Steel with Niobium Addition in Sea Water Environment)

  • Stainless steel is widely used in various industries due to its excellent anti-corrosion characteristics. However, if the stainless steel is exposed to high speed fluid flow and chloride ion in the marine environment, corrosion and cavitation damage occurred on the surface easily. Therefore, to prevent these problems, stabilzed stainless steel is applied to offshore and shipbuilding industries. In this study, stabilized stainless steel specimen was made by 19%Cr-9%Ni with different Nb contents (0.29%, 0.46% and 0.71%). And then, their cavitation characteristics were investigated. As a result, the characteristics of cavitation resistance of stainless steel could be improved by increasing Nb contents.

쇼트피닝이 회주철의 캐비테이션 침식 저항성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Shot Peening on Cavitation Erosion Resistance of Gray Cast Iron)

  • In this study, optimal shot peening process conditions were investigated for improving the cavitation erosion resistance of gray cast iron under a marine environment. Shot peening was performed with variables of injection pressure and injection time. The durability was then evaluated through cavitation erosion test which was conducted according to the modified ASTM G-32 standard. The tendency of cavitation erosion damage according to shot peening process condition was investigated through weight loss rate, surface and cross-sectional analysis of the specimen before and after the test. As a result, the shot peening process condition that could minimize cavitation erosion was when the injection pressure was the lowest and when the injection time was the shortest. This was because the flake graphite exposed on the gray cast iron surface could be easily removed under such condition. Therefore, the notch effect can be prevented by surface modification. In addition, the cavitation erosion damage mechanism of gray cast iron was discussed in detail.

굴패각을 잔골재로 대체 사용한 콘크리트의 장기성능 평가 (Long-Term Performance Evaluation of Concrete Utilizing Oyster Shell in Lieu of Fine Aggregate)

  • 산업폐기물 중 하나인 굴패각(Oyster Shell, OS)에 대한 건설재료로써의 활용성을 검토하기 위해 굴패각을 혼합한 콘크리트의 장기역학적 특성과 내구성을 실험적으로 평가하였다. 실험결과에 따르면 굴패각을 10% 대체한 콘크리트의 장기강도는 굴패각을 대체하지 않은 콘크리트와 유사한 결과를 보였으나, 굴패각을 20% 대체한 콘크리트의 장기강도는 감소하는 것을 보였다. 즉, 일정 한도 이상의 굴패각 대체는 콘크리트의 장기재령 강도에 열화요인으로 작용할 수 있는 것으로 나타났고, 굴패각의 대체에 따른 탄성계수 저하는 대체율에 거의 비례적으로 저하하였으며 굴패각의 대체율 20%에서 약 10∼15% 저하하였다. 굴패각의 대체율이 증가할수록 건조수축 발생량은 증가하였으며 기존의 건조수축과 크리프 모델식은 굴패각의 증가에 따른 영향을 잘 반영하지 못하였고 이에 대한 예측식의 보정이 필요하다. 잔골재의 일부를 굴패각으로 대체하여도 콘크리트의 동결융해 저항성, 탄산화 저항성, 및 화학침식 저항성에는 나쁜 영향을 미치지 않으며, 투수 저항성은 오히려 크게 개선되었다.

석회석 미분말을 혼합한 시멘트 경화체의 내구성능 평가 (Evaluation of Durability of Cement Matrix Replaced with Limestone Powder)

  • 석회석미분말을 콘크리트용 재료로 활용하기 위하여 치환율을 달리하여 제조한 시멘트 경화체의 역학적 특성 및 내구특성을 평가하였다. 일반적으로 석회석미분말은 시멘트 수화반응에 기여하지 못함으로 이를 사용한 모르타르의 압축강도 시험결과 치환율이 증가할수록 압축강도는 감소하였다. 그러나 석회석미분말을 사용한 모르타르의 염소이온 침투저항성, 탄산화저항성 및 화학저항성 등 내구성능을 평가한 결과 석회석미분말의 작은 입자가 시멘트 경화체 내부의 미세한 공극을 채워주는 마이크로 필러효과로 인하여 치환하지 않은 기준 모르타르에 비하여 우수한 결과를 나타내었다. 따라서 석회석미분말은 콘크리트의 내구성 향상을 위한 효과적인 방법으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 본 연구에서는 석회석미분말의 치환량을 0 %, 5 %, 10 %, 15 %로 변화시켜 내구성능을 평가하였으나 향후 석회석미분말의 종료와 치환량을 다양한 수준으로 변화시켜 내구성능에 미치는 영향을 보다 자세히 연구할 필요가 있을 것으로 판단된다.

고로(高爐)슬래그 미분말(微粉末)을 사용(使用)한 라텍스개질(改質) 콘크리트의 화학적(化學的) 침식(侵蝕) 및 탄산화 특성(特性) (Chemical Attack and Carbonation Properties of Latex-Modified Concrete Using Blast-furnace Slag)

  • 본 연구에서는 고로슬래그 미분말 혼입률에 따른 라텍스개질 콘크리트의 역학적 특성과 탄산화 특성을 평가하였다. 이를 위해 라텍스 혼입률 변화(0%, 15%)와 고로슬래그 혼입률 변화(0%, 30%, 50%)를 실험변수로 하였으며, LMC와 BS-LMC의 특성분석을 위하여 압축강도, 황산, 염산에 대한 화학저항성 및 탄산가스에 의한 탄산화 촉진 시험을 실시하였다. 실험결과, 고로슬래그 혼입률이 30%일 경우 일반콘크리트와 동일한 강도발현 특성을 나타내었다. 고로슬래그 혼입율 50%의 조건은 탄산화에 의한 구조적 품질 저하가 예상되었으나 혼입률 30%이하에서는 일반콘크리트보다 우수한 탄산화 억제 효과가 있는 것으로 평가되었다. 특히 황산 및 염산용액 침지에 따른 강도저하 문제는 라텍스를 혼입함으로써 저감할 수 있었으며 탄산가스에 의한 중성화 진행도 라텍스를 혼입함으로서 개선되는 것으로 나타났다.
