  • Thick film copper conductors are of considerable interest in thick film industries because of both the potential cost saving compared to the noble metal conductors and the favorable properties in electrical conductivity, solderability, solder leach resistance and wire bondability, However, formation of the excellent copper thick film is a lot complicated due to easily oxidizing property of copper at high temperature. In order to get favorable thick film copper conductor, hybrid microcircuit industry utilizes majorly three kinds of firing atmosphere, such as nitrogen atmosphere, reactive atmosphere and air atmosphere. The processes and the three atmospheres for firing thick film copper conductor were extensively reviewed in this article.

  • The magnesium sulfate solution digestion test carried out for resistance of concrete containing waste glass powder on magnesium sulfate attack. Moreover, it yielded S.D.F index was used for the criteria of quantitative assessment to the resistance of magnesium sulfate for the purpose of evaluation of chemical deterioration on concrete. Furthermore, to evaluate for micro-cracks within concrete and external corrosion, the weight variation of specimens and the dynamic elasticity were compared and analyzed and also the applicability was examined using the analysis of product of hydration through out observing external deformation and micro-structural deformation.

  • Electrical resistivity and seismic refraction surveys were conducted to investigate geologic structures and geotechnical characteristics of the subsurface, along with rock physical property measurements in Dokdo island. The survey results in Seodo island show that the fault adjacent to the fisherman's shelter is a normal fault and extended towards the NW direction, and that Bedded Lapilli Tuff in the downstream was more severely influenced by weathering and erosion than Trachy Andesite II in the upstream of the survey area. In Dongdo island, Trachy Andesite III and Scoria Bedded Lapilli Tuff were severely weathered and eroded, considered as weathered to soft rock formations, and their weathered zone becomes thicker towards the antiaircraft facility in the NE direction of the survey area. The study results also illustrate that Trachyte and Trachy Andesite are hardest, Massive Tuff Breccia is next, and Stratified Ash Tuff is the most soft rock in Dokdo island.

  • The durability of marine concrete structures is severely degraded by corrosion due to seawater attack and diffusion of chloride in concrete. The deduction of durability causes high repair cost for maintenance of marine concrete structure. So, the applicability of high-durable materials is investigated to improve the durability in marine concrete structures. For these, the characteristics of corrosion prevention of marine concrete structures mixed with the mineral admixtures(SF, FA and BFS), the modified steel(stainless and coating steel), and corrosion inhibitors are evaluated using electro-chemical methods. As a results of this study, it is quantified for the effect of promotion of durability by high-durability materials in marine concrete structures.

  • In this study, a structural concrete square beam was developed using the centrifugal molding technique. In order to secure the bending stiffness of the cross section, the hollow rate of the cross section was set to 10% or less. Instead of using the current poor mixture of concrete and a concrete mixing ratio with a high slump (150-200) and a design strength of 100 MPa or more was developed and applied. In order to investigate the durability of centrifugally formed PSC square beams to be used as the superstructure of the avalanch tunnel or ramen bridge, the durability performance of ultra-high-strength centrifugally formed concrete with a compressive strength of 100 MPa was evaluated in terms of deterioration and chemical resistance properties.Concrete durability tests, including chloride penetration resistance, accelerated carbonation, sulfate erosion resistance, freeze-thaw resistance, and scaling resistance, were performed on centrifugally formed square beam test specimens produced in 2022 and 2023. Considering the information verified in this study, the durability of centrifugally molded concrete, which has increased watertightness in the later manufacturing stage, was found to be superior to that of general concrete.

  • This paper presents an investigation into the durability alkali-activated materials(AAM) mortar and paste samples manufactured using fly-ash(FA) and ground granulated blast furnace slag(GGBFS) exposed to a sulfate environment with different GGBFS replace ratios(0, 30, 50 and 100%), sodium silicate modules($Ms[SiO_2/Na_2O]$ 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0) and initial curing temperatures($23^{\circ}C$ and $70^{\circ}C$). The tests involved immersions for a period of 6 months into 10% solutions of sodium sulfate and magnesium sulfate. The evolution of compressive strength, weight, length expansion and microstructural observation such as x-ray diffraction were studied. As a results, as higher GGBFS replace ratio or Ms shown higher compressive strengths on 28 days. In case of immersed in 10% sodium sulfate solution, the samples shows increase in long-term strength. However, for samples immersed in magnesium sulfate solutions, the general observation was that the compressive strength decreased after immersion. The most drastic reduction of compressive strength and expansion of weight and length occurred when GGBFS or Ms ratios were higher. Also, the XRD analysis of samples immersed in magnesium sulfate indicated that expansion of AAM caused by gypsum($CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$); the gypsum increased up to 6 months continuously.

  • There has been a number of research on concrete durability. specially, as a research on chemical ingression, the research on the degradation against acid, alkali, and sulfate has been conducted. On the other hand, for the research on oils, especially, the influence of various oils on cement mortar with Supplementary Cementitious Materials(SCMs) is not sufficiently studied. hence, in this research, the degradation of cement mortar incorporated fly ash and blast furnace slag is researched when the cement mortar is submerged in various oils. For the result of experiment, as the content of fatty acid in the oils, the degradation of cement mortar with SCMs was occurred more, and the cement mortar with SCMs suffered more degradation than the ordinary portland cement regarding the oil submerging.

  • In the present study, immersion test using artificial seawater was performed to evaluate the resistance of mortar specimens with or without ground granulated blast-furnace slag (SG) and fly ash (FA). Another variable was the fineness levels of SG (4,450, 6,000 and 8,000 ㎠/g). From the results of the immersion test for 270 days of exposure, the excellent resistance to seawater attack for SG mortar mixtures, especially in a high fineness levels, was confirmed. However, the reductions in compressive strength of FA mortar specimens was similar to those of OPC mortar specimens irrespective of replacement of FA.. In order to understand the deterioration mechanism due to seawater attack, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis were also carried out. Some reactants such as ettringite, gypsum, brucite and Friedel's salt were possibly detected through XRD technique.

  • Recently, advanced system for water and wastewater treatment is introduced and operated because of water pollution and etc. One of this System makes use of O3(Ozone) for water and wastewater treatment. In airtight concrete structure, waterproofing phase as well as water are affected by strong oxidative O3 in the long-term. For this reason, material stability against O3 is examined. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to find out material stability an object of epoxy resin by way of accelerated O3 testing.

  • This paper describes a study undertaken to determine the effect of ground calcium carbonate(GCC) cement mortar with respect to sulfate attack. It were investigated visual appearance and expansion of cement mortars with GCC immersed in artificial solution of 5% sodium sulfate during 510days. According to increasing replacement of GCC, the expansion ratio was comparatively superior to GCC0 mortar specimen. The test results indicated that cement mortars with GCC was benefit the resistance of sulfate attack due to micro filler effect.
