Convergence approach to weight control behavior and online clothing product shopping (체중조절행동과 온라인의류쇼핑에 대한 융합적 접근)

  • This study focused on the idea that consumers who are dissatisfied with their body form tend to be more interested in weight control behavior. This research connects this relationship with consumers' risk perception on the internet and consequent decision hesitation behavior. Empirical results extracted three factors of weight control behavior: diet, physical treatment, and medication and exercise. Weight control behavior was different by gender but not by age. Consumers who were dissatisfied with their body form were likely to do exercise, but other types of dissatisfaction (weight dissatisfaction and height dissatisfaction) were not significantly related to weight control behavior. Weight dissatisfaction influenced perceived size risk significantly when shopping online. Diet, physical treatment, and medication had significant influence on perceived size risk when shopping online. Perceived size risk had significant influence on decision delay and offline switch behavior. This study took a convergence approach, which connects consumer characteristics with online shopping behavior.

A Study on the Perceived Size Related Risk and Clothing Behaviors According to Perceived Body Characteristics and Satisfaction with Body Characteristics -Focus on Internet Fashion Consumers- (신체인식과 신체만족도에 따른 치수 관련 위험지각 및 의복행동에 관한 연구 -인터넷 패션 소비자를 대상으로-)

  • This study first examines the effect of perceived body characteristics, satisfaction with body characteristics on perceived size related risk, and internet shopping clothing behaviors; in addition, it also examines the effect of the perceived size related risk on clothing behaviors. A questionnaire was conducted with responses from 219 female students, aged 19 to 25. Data was analyzed by frequency analysis, correlation analysis, ANOVA and Duncan test. The findings suggest that a consumer satisfied with body characteristics has active clothing behaviors to improve her appearance or body image. The effects of perceived body characteristics and satisfaction with body characteristics on perceived size related risk are also identified. The perceived size related risk increases when the size information of an internet shopping mall is insufficient compared to the situation when the consumer is not satisfied with her body characteristics. The meaningful differences of clothing behaviors according to extent of perceived size related risk are identified.

Effects of Rye Silage on Growth Performance, Blood Characteristics, and Carcass Quality in Finishing Pigs (호맥 사일리지의 급여기간이 비육돈의 생산성, 혈액 성상 및 도체특성에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to evaluate effects of various periods of rye silage feeding on the growth performance, blood characteristics, and carcass quality of finishing pigs. A total of sixteen [($Landrace{\times}Yorkshire{\times}Duroc$)] pigs (90.26 kg in average initial body weight) were tested in individual cages for a 30 day period. Dietary treatments included 1) CON (basal diet), 2) S10 (basal diet for 20 days and 3% rye silage for 10 days) 3) S20 (basal diet for 10 days and 3% rye silage for 20 days) and 4) S30 (3% rye silage for 30 days). There were no significant differences in the ADG and gain/feed ratio among the treatments(p>0.05), however the ADFI was higher in pigs fed the CON diet than with pigs fed diets with rye silage (p<0.05). The DM digestibility was higher with the S20 diet than with the S30 diet (p<0.05). With regard to blood characteristics, pigs fed rye silage had a significantly reduced cortisol concentration compared to pigs fed the CON diet (p<0.05). The backfat thickness was higher with the CON diet than with the S20 or S30 diets (p<0.05). Regarding the fatty acid contents of the leans, the C18:0 and total SFA were significantly higher with the CON diet than with the other diets (p<0.05). However, the C18:1n9, total MUFA and UFA/SFA levels were significantly lower with the CON diet than the other diets (p<0.05). Regarding the fatty acid contents of fat, the levels of C18:1n9 and MUFA were similar with the S20 and S30 diets, however, these levels were higher than with the CON or S10 diets (p<0.05). In conclusion, feed intake and DM digestibility were affected by rye silage, and the cortisol concentration, backfat thickness and fatty acid composition of pork were positively affected by feeding pigs rye silage.
