  • The purpose of this study was to know the effectiveness of prolonged-speech treatment program on school-age children with stuttering. Two male and One female subjects participated in this study. The speech of 3 subjects in the treatment was assessed on frequency of stuttering, stuttering Pattern, degree of severity in stuttering. This Program was taken from Ryan's the step of traditional therapy Program and prolonged-speech technique program. and then, modified in accordance with the purpose of this study. The treatment program were consisted of Four stages. The results of this study were as follows: First, 3 subjects can speak with greatly reduced stuttering frequency after treatment Second, in the stuttering pattern, all subjects were changed from part-word repetition in stuttering into a prolongation in stuttering. And also, all subjects showed similar effect in the maintenance.

  • In radiation treatment, it is unavoidable to block the influence of scattered ray on a skin and prevent internal normal organs from being exposed to radiation. It is fair to say that radiation therapy aims to reduce an absorbed dose of normal tissues. In particular, in radiation therapy of left-sided breast cancer, the internal neighboring organs are normal breast tissues, the heart, and the lung. The side effects on the heart include cardioplegy and myocardial infarction. This study tried to observe changes in the volume and dose of the heart in general radiation therapy plan and respiratory control based radiation therapy plan for patients with left-sided breast cancer, and to find the heart's volume and dose generated by respiration. According to the 4D computer tomography (CT), a volume of the heart had $12.8{\pm}8.7cc$ on average, and its dose had $17.3{\pm}12.1cGy$ on average. The differences in the volume and dose may cause side effects in radiation treatment. Therefore, it is necessary to apply respiratory control technique to establish the radiation treatment plan based on an accurate position of the heart.

  • This study reviewed the research in China on music interventions for adult brain injury patients. Eighty-three studies that met the inclusion criteria were included for analysis. Our review revealed that the number of intervention studies using music with adult brain injury patients has been on the rise since 2012, and random control research design methods have been dominant. Studies focused on the physical domain and emotional domain together were most common. Researchers in fields outside of music therapy conducted 43 of the studies, and music therapists carried out 14 of the studies as intervention providers. Most of the studies carried out by experts in fields other than music therapy used listening activities involving preexisting recorded music. However, most of the studies conducted by music therapists adopted reconstructed music and played it live during their intervention. The specificity of the described content of the interventions and level and relevance of stated rationale to the target goal of the intervention suggests that high quality of intervention was conducted with a therapist/investigator who has completed adequate professional education/training, which would emphasize the importance of music therapy professionalism. This study provides the baseline data for how music intervention research has been implemented in China and presents implications for future clinical practice and research.

  • A Siemens HD-270 MLC$^{TM}$, a virtual-micro MLC, allows to the application of a smooth field edge method due to the finite leaf-width of MLC. This technique was implemented into a Pinnacle planning system in order to evaluate the dose distributions during the planning stage. The necessary dosimetric aspects, such as undulation and effective penumbra, were investigated with variations in the resolutions of a virtual-micro MLC and field edge angle. The positional accuracy of the couch movement was also assessed for clinical implementation. The overhead time for planning and treatment was confirmed as negligible.e.

  • Patients with atopic dermatitis, an intractable disease, suffer uncontrollable psychological distress as well as various symptoms in their skin. Recent findings showed that mental factors such as stress may play a role in the disease and that some techniques for alleviating psychological problems were efficacious in the atopic dermatitis. Therefore, we proposed the mind-body medicine that has been used to decrease the negative influences of stress and to cure psychosomatic disorders as an additional remedy for the atopic dermatitis. A model on the therapeutic effect of mind-body medicine and some qualities of practician also were discussed.

  • This study is to provide basic information regarding photoneutron doses in terms of radiation treatment techniques and the number of portals in intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) by measuring the photoneutron doses. Subjects of experiment were 10 patients who were diagnosed with prostate cancer and have received radiation treatment for 5 months from September 2013 to January 2014 in the department of radiation oncology in S hospital located in Seoul. Thus, radiation treatment plans were created for 3-Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy (3D-CRT), Volumetric-Modulated Arc Radiotherapy (VMAT), IMRT 5, 7, and 9 portals. The average difference of photoneutron dose was compared through descriptive statistics and variance analysis, and analyzed influence factors through correlation analysis and regression analysis. In summarized results, 3D-CRT showed the lowest average photoneutron dose, while IMRT caused the highest dose with statistically significance (p <.01). The photoneutron dose by number of portals of IMRT was $4.37{\pm}1.08mSv$ in average and statistically showed very significant difference among the number of portals (p <.01). Number of portals and photoneutron dose are shown that the correlation coefficient is 0.570, highly statistically significant positive correlation (p <.01). As a result of the linear regression analysis of number of portals and photoneutron dose, it showed that photoneutron dose significantly increased by 0.373 times in average as the number of portals increased by 1 stage. In conclusion, this study can be expected to be used as a quantitative basic data to select an appropriate IMRT plans regarding photoneutron dose in radiation treatment for prostate cancer.
