Evasion and overall fear, overall fear and stimulations of dental care, stimulations of dental care and overall feeling were related(p<0.05). Conclusions : The reliability of dental health care workers is lower and subjective oral health status is considered lower, the fear of dental care increase and everage number of brushing has increased, the fear of dental care decrease.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between conscious sedation, a moderate sedation method used to reduce dental fear, and anxiety. Methods: The previously developed modified dental anxiety investigation scale (MDAS) and dental fear investigation scale (DFS) were investigated using a self-administered survey for adults aged 19 to 65 years old who visited a dental clinic located in Daegu City from April to November 2020. Those who met the ASA Recommendation Level 1 to 2 were the subjects of this study. The participants were evaluated using the sedation severity rating scale (OAA/S) during the implementation of conscious sedation. A lot of 106 valid questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS. Results: Dental fear and anxiety decreased significantly after dental care with conscious sedation. Dental fear after dental care accompanied by conscious sedation was statistically significant in females, those under the age of 40, those with a bachelor's degree or higher, and those who weighed 60 kg or less. Conclusions: Dental care using conscious sedation was found to have an effect on the reduction of dental fear after the dental procedure. Dental fear can occur in people of all ages, and, regardless of the individual's general and physical characteristics, conscious calming is considered an effective intervention for dental fear in all adults.

Noise radiated from medical treatment at dental clinic will affect the patients. On such point of view, We investigated the noise characteristics in case of medical treatment (scaling, tooth eliminating) and non-medical examination (idling) and also evaluated the degree of indoor noise using the evaluation index such as PSIL, NRN and made up a questionnaire about the reactions to noise. As a result of noise evaluation, it shows that the range of noise level is 67.7~78.3 dB(A) and frequency is very high (above 4 k Hz) and respondents are affected by noise (unpleasantness, hesitation to visit dental clinic, shivering with noise, being astonishment). Analysis by PSIL showed that it was no problem to conversation between worker and patient. But it exceeded the noise permit level in working space by NR-curve. To relieve a fear of noise in patients, they are considered to offer the ear protection, choose the low noisevibration equipment and use the masking effect. They are of great advantage to dental clinics to i prove dental service and competitiveness.

Patient management is considered an important factor in dental field. The aim of this review is to analyze the efficacy of hypnosis to treat fear, anxiety, pain, stress of dental patients, and see how it can be adopted in dentistry for improving patient satisfaction. Medline research was carried out to find the use of hypnosis in dentistry and other aspects of hypnosis in medical area. It can help patient more comfortable, relax, and accordingly reduce patient's negative feelings such as fear, anxiety, pain, stress during dental treatment. Also, it affects patient recovery after surgery by accelerating healing speed and reinforce immune system. When hypnosis is used with other anesthetic method, it can reduce the use of main medication, leading to reduce possibility of side effect. Therefore, using Hypnosis can give patients more comfortable dental experience, both mentally and physically, ultimately making patients more satisfied with the dental treatment.
4) Demerol, Phenergan, Atarax사용에 있어서 그 부작용은 거의 무시할 수 있을 정도로 경한 것이였으며 환자의 심리적인 지원을 갖어 올 수 있어 아동 취급상에 큰 효과를 얻을 수 있있다.
Objectives : This study was designed to present how to reduce the fear associated with dental treatment by analyzing the fear levels for dental treatment, the influential factors for the fear, the general characteristics of patients and the correlations between trust in dental care professionals and satisfaction with dental treatment. Methods : The subjects were 400 workers at 5 industrial sites, which got health management conducted by health management agencies, among small and medium industrial sites located in the Gyeongbuk region of South Korea during a period of February to March, 2009. Results & Conclusion : 1. Of the subjects, 134 (30.7%) and 303 (69.3%) persons had high and low fear levels of dental treatment respectively. 2. The fear levels of dental treatment were higher in women than men, and significantly high in proportion to the patients' subjective bad health levels and past dental care fear frequencies. 3. The fear associated with dental treatment was significantly correlated to the trust in dentists.
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between quality of sleep and dental fear in implant surgery patients. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 153 implant patients from December 2012 to February 2013 in dental clinics and hospitals in Busan and Changwon. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis using SAS version 9.20. Results : The quality of sleep in the implant patients was $41.0{\pm}6.0$. The systemic diseases influenced on the quality of sleep and dental fear also affected the quality of sleep. Conclusions : The results of the analysis of a relationship between the fear perception of dental implant surgery patients and the quality of their sleep showed that the patients with systemic diseases, the patients with a fear by the physical stimulation relating to implant treatment showed the low quality of sleep.
Objectives : The aim of the study is to offer basic data that help to reduce dental fear by measuring adult dental fear level with DFS scale. Methods : The subjects were 300 persons including college students in W University and their parents in Jeollabuk-do Province. Data were collected by convenience sampling from May 1 to May 30, 2013. Results : 1. Dental clinic visit provoked pain in 99 people(47.4%). Oral examination and preventive treatment evoked pain in 13 people(6.2%). 2. Women tended to feel much pain than men. Both women and men felt the thrilling fear when a needle pricks the flesh. 3. Respondents having dental caries, gum bleeding, halitosis, shaking tooth, and painful tooth had a higher dental fear level. 4. The direct pain experience(p<0.001) had the greatest influence. The next influencing factor was the insufficient anesthesia(p<0.05). 5. The explanatory power that the pain experience has influence upon dental fear is $R^2$=0.151. Conclusions : The direct pain experience and the insufficient anesthesia experience have the great influence upon patients' dental fear level. Anesthetics and analgesics can be considered as one of the positive methods for pain control.
Objectives : The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between the dental fear, self-esteem, and self-regulation in oral health quality of life in the adolescents.
