Design and analysis of OFDM receiver employing LMLE algorithm (LMLE 알고리듬을 이용한 OFDM 수신기 설계 및 분석)

  • In this paper, a new receiver is proposed for the detection of the OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) signals in the time-selective multipath fading channel. For the optimal detection, we estimate the transmitted symbols from OFDM demultiplexing signal using the LMLE(linear masimum likelihold estimation) algorithm. Also, in this paper, the lowerbound for BER(bit error rate) using Taylor series approximation is provided. If the matched filter is used for the OFDM receiver in the time-selectivemultipath fading channel, it is known that the SER(symbol error rate) is always greater than $10^{-1}$, due to the cross-talk between adjacent channels. But, the proposed receiver provides of SER with 15dB SNR. Also, it is found that for the receiver implemented using the LMLE algorithm, the performance is shown to be not affected by the increase of th enumber of subchannel and channel path.

Pseudo Stereophonic Acoustic Echo Canceller using Hyper-plane Projection Algorithm (Hyper-plane투영 알고리듬을 이용한 의사 스테레오 음향 반향 제거기)

  • This paper proposes a new stereophonic acoustic echo canceller to prevent impairments on the voice quality and to remove acoustic echo effectively appearing in stereo environment at the instant of abrupt change of the transmission room environment in teleconferencing system. In stereophonic acoustic echo canceller, the major defective problems are the large computational complexity of estimating echo path systems due to the long impulse response of the true echo paths and the performance degradation of echo canceller due to large correlation between dual stereo signals. Moreover, the change of the suboptimal solution for the echo canceller was considered as a critical deficient factor on to the performance of stereophonic echo canceller. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes pseudo stereophonic acoustic echo canceller using Hyper-plane projection algorithm, which shows the robustness to the environment change of the transmission room and the efficiency of computational complexity.

A Shortest Path Algorithm Considering Directional Delays at Signalized Intersection (신호교차로에서 방향별 지체를 고려한 최적경로탐색 연구)

  • In road network, especially in urban area, inefficiency of travel time is caused by signal control and turn maneuver at intersection and this inefficiency has substantial effects on travel time. When searching for the shortest path, this inefficiency which is caused by turn maneuver must be considered. Therefore, travel time, vehicle volume and delay for each link were calculated by using simulation package, PARAMICS V5.2 for adaptation of turn penalty at 16 intersections of Gangnam-gu. Turn penalty was calculated respectively for each intersection. Within the same intersection, turn penalty differs by each approaching road and turn direction so the delay was calculated for each approaching road and turn direction. Shortest path dealing with 16 intersections searched by Dijkstra algorithm using travel time as cost, considering random turn penalty, and algorithm considering calculated turn penalty was compared and analyzed. The result shows that by considering turn penalty searching the shortest path can decrease the travel time can be decreased. Also, searching the shortest path which considers turn penalty can represent reality appropriately and the shortest path considering turn penalty can be utilized as an alternative.

  • The Japanese developed the first Car navigation system in 1981 with the advent of Honda, which was known as the car inertial navigation system. Now days, It is possible to search the shortest route to and from places and arrival time using the internet via cell phone to the driver based on GIS and GPS. However, even with a good navigation system, it losses the shortest route when there is an average speed of the vehicle being between S-15 kilometers. Therefore, in order to improve the vehicle waiting time and average vehicle speed, we are suggesting an optimal green time algorithm using fuzzy adaptive control, where there are different traffic intersection lengths, and lanes. In this paper, to be able to assist the driver and forecast the optimal traffic information with regards to the road conditions; dangerous roads, construction work and estimation of arrival time at their destination using internet.

  • 본 논문은 두 개의게이트웨이를 사용한 격자구저망에서 최적의 게이트웨이 위치 설정을 위한 알고리즘을 제안하고 원리를 유도하였다. 최적의 게이트웨이 위치란 격자구조망내 각 노드에서 게이트웨이까지의 평균 최소 링크 수를 가지는 위치로 정의한다. 두 개의 게이트웨이르 사용함으로써 망내의 신뢰도 향상 효과를 가져오며, 우회 경로로 인한 호차단 확률(call blocking probability)과 호설정시간(call setup time)을 최소화한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 망의 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 두 개의 게이트웨이의 최적의 위치를 결정하는 Grid-Traverse 알고리즘을 제안하고 설정원리들을 유도하여 , 수학적 귀납법으로 이 원리들을 증명하였다.

  • The effectiveness of the phased array antenna in wireless power transfer systems is due to its ability to form a beam pattern towards the desired direction. To maximize the efficiency of wireless power transfer through beamforming, the transmitter must recognize the information on the optimal transmission path. To achieve this, the transmitter usually transmits pilot signals periodically and the receiver extracts the optimal beamforming weights using the pilot signals. The receiver then feeds the beamforming weights back to the transmitter. In general, the amount of feedback increases with the number of antennas, which causes feedback overhead when there is a large number of antennas. In this paper, we propose a feedback simplification scheme based on the far-field approximation method. The simulation results are provided to validate the impact of the simplified feedback on the beam pattern.

A Study on Optimum Hybrid Post-Processing Method for Multiple Telemetry Streams (원격측정 다중 스트림 최적 혼합 후처리 기법 연구)

  • In order to understand flying aircraft, satellite, missile, etc, a telemetry ground system is used to receive, record, and process the transmitted radio signal from vehicles. In some cases, a line-of-sight communication is not possible along to the trajectory of vehicles, and multipath fading result in a shade area of communication. A number of telemetry ground systems are installed to overcome this limitation, and acquire the transmitted signal seamlessly. The telemetry signals received by multiple independent ground systems have independent probability of errors since they experienced their own communication channels. In other words, we can exploit the independent error characteristics of received signals by processing them in a hybrid method. The optimum hybrid post-process method is proposed in this study, and applied to process telemetry signals acquired from flight tests.

  • The Galileo system, a global navigation satellite system(GNSS) developed by E.U., uses the direct sequence/spread spectrum(DS/SS) modulation. A DS/SS-based system performs a fine synchronization between the received and locally generated spreading signals, via attacking process. In the absence of multipath signals, using the symmetric characteristic of the correlation function, the delay lock loop with the early minus late discriminator(EL-DLL) offers the best performance in tracking. However, in the presence of multipath signals, the symmetry of the correlation function could be lost, causing a tracking bias. In this paper, we observe that the correlation values in the advanced offset range remain almost unchanged, due to the multipath signals being received later than a line-of-sight signal. Based on this observation, we propose a novel tracking scheme for a Galileo BOC(1,1) system.

Optimal Path Planning for UAVs under Multiple Ground Threats (다수 위협에 대한 무인항공기 최적 경로 계획)

  • This paper addresses the trajectory optimization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs) under multiple ground threats like enemy's anti-air radar sites. The power of radar signal reflected by the vehicle and the flight time are considered in the performance cost to be minimized. The bank angle is regarded as control input for a 1st-order lag vehicle, and input parameter optimization method based on Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) is used for trajectory optimization. The proposed path planning method provides more practical trajectories with enhanced survivability than those of Voronoi diagram method.

  • 핸즈프리 음성 통신에 있어 음향 반향 제거 시스템은 필수적인 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 음향 반향을 효과적으로 제거하기 위한 새로운 시변 적응 상수를 갖는 적응 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 최적 필터의 직교 원리를 이용하여 적응 알고리즘의 적응 상수를 시변한다. 직교 원리에 따라 적응 상수를 시변하면 적응 초기에는 적응 필터가 반향 경로를 추정하지 못해서 큰 값을 가지지만 수렴 후에는 적응 필터의 입력 신호와 추정 오차 신호간의 상호 상관도가 작아져서 정상 상태 오차가 작으며 근단화자 등 의 주변 잡음 신호에 적응필터 계수가 오조정되는 것을 줄일 수 있다. 본 논문에서 음향반향 시뮬레이션을 통해서 제안하는 적응 알고리즘이 기존의 방법에 비해서 우수함을 보인다.
