다구찌 실험 계획법을 이용한 광통신용 지르코니아($ZrO_2$)페룰의 연삭조건 최적화 실험 (Optimal Grinding Condition of $ZrO_2$, Ferrule for Optical Fiber Connector Using the Taguchi Method)

  • In this paper, the effects of grinding conditions on the surface roughness of $ZrO_2$ ferrule applying to the optical fiber connector were investigated. The mesh number of grindstone, the grinding speed and the time schedule during grinding were regarded as main cutting parameters that have an effect on the surface roughness. And then, optimal combinations for chamfering grinding were obtained by using the Taguchi method. In addition, analytic values for maximum surface roughness ($R_{max}$) estimated by the theoretical equations which were derived from the formative model of surface roughness on the chamfering grinding were compared with those of the experiments.

내면연삭(內面硏削)의 가공능률향상(加工能率向上)에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Internal Grinding to Improving the Grinding Efficiency)

  • This paper describes on the establishment of an optimal internal grinding conditions for the purpose of improving the grinding efficiency against to the high-speed grinding. Through the fundamental grinding tests for the brittle and hardened material, we are concluded that high-speed internal grinding is effective to improve the grinding accuracy as well as the grinding efficiency. The obtained results are as follows: (1) Under the speed ratio $(V_w/V_g)$ is constant, it is possible to increase the grinding efficiency with satifying the constraint conditions. (2) Increasing the wheel velocity, surface roughness and out-roundness are improved. (3) Under the wheel depth of cut is constant and increasing the speed ratio, workpiece residual stress is decreased. The described method, in this paper, is capable of determining the optimum internal grinding conditions taking into account some constraint conditions, and practical algorithm for optimum internal grinding conditions are presented.

  • Grinding process is different from other machining processes such as turning, milling and drilling because the cutting edges in a grinding wheel doesn't have uniformity and acts differently on the workpiece at each grinding. This study focus on predicting the geometric error produced during surface grinding and selecting an optimal grinding condition to reduce the geometric error. To achieve the aim, the Taguchi design of experiments was applied and the S/N ratios of each grinding was used for evaluating the results. The predicted quantities by the S/N ratios were compared with the experimental results.

  • Recently, the development of CNC machine tools seems to bring about progressional high speed, precision and automation in cutting processing, but is unlikely to avoid the generation of burr arising from plastic deformation, which may result in deterioration of improvement in the precision and productivty of products. In this study, Experiment has been carried out to prevent and decrease the grinding burr under various working conditions ; working speed, side cutting edge, back rake angle, disengage angel.

  • 화인세라믹의 우수한 공학적 특성으로 인한 최근의 이용가치 증대와 더불어 세라믹의 고정도 가공에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 다이아몬드휠을 이용한 연삭이나 다이아몬드 공구를 이용한 선삭에 의해 세라믹의 고정도 표면생성을 실현시키고자 하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고는 있으나 아직 미흡한 상태에 있다. 따라서 전통적으로 고정도 표면생성에 널리 용되어 온 래핑에 의한 표면다듬질이 현재 행하여지고 있는 일반적인 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 화인세라믹의 고정도 표면생성을 위한 원통래핑 공정의 최적화 방법으로 실험계획법의 한 응용분야인 반응표면분석법을 이용하였으며 그 결과, 적은 재료와 시간으로 능률적이고 체계적인 실험 및 통계적인 분석을 통해서 원통세라믹의 고정도 표면생성을 위한 최적래핑조건을 찾아내었다.

  • In order to utilize the information of well-known grinding data or grinding machine, a database needs to be designed by considering the delicate property of the machine tools for the high precision and quality of the demanding specification. Among the machine tools, machining conditions of the grinding are various and knowledge repeatance obtained form the grinding process are less credable.Therefore it is desirable for D/B, which is used to set the grinding conditions, to utilize the maximum machine tool capability. The present paper studied occurance limit of chatter vibration and burn considering the characteristics of machine tool. And also basic experiments were performed to establish optimum grinding canditions which can maximize the machining efficiency.

열간압연 스케줄변경에 따른 최적연삭조건 결정 (Decision of Optimum Grinding Condition by Pass Schedule Change)

  • It is important to prevent roll failure in hot rolling process for reducing maintenance cost and production loss. The relationship between rolling pass schedule and the work roll wear profile will be presented. The roll wear pattern is related with roll catastrophic failure. The irregular and deep roll wear pattern should be removed by On-line Roll Grinder(ORG) for roll failure prevention. In this study, a computer roll wear prediction model under real process working condition is developed and evaluated with hot rolling pass schedule. The method of building wear calculation functions for center portion abrasion and marginal abrasion respectively was used to develop a work roll wear prediction mathematical model. The three type rolling schedule are evaluated by wear prediction model. The optimum roll grinding methods is suggested for schedule tree rolling technique.

Fuzzy 모델에 의한 연삭 가공의 전문가 시스템의 개발 (Development of Grinding Expert System by Fuzzy Model)

  • 연소 가공은 고품질 고정도를 필요로 하는 경우 매우 유효한 가공방법이지만 그 공정이 많은 Parameter에 의해 구성되기 때문에 동일한 조건에서도 정량적인 평가가 어려우므로 작업현장 에서는 과학적 원리와 공학적 지식 보다는 숙련자의 경험과 기능에 의존하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 국면에 대처한 문제 해결을 위해 Computer가 인간사고에 근접 할 수 있도록 Fuzzy 이론과 Default 이론을 도입하고 전문가의 이론적 지식과 숙련자의 감각적 지식을 적극 수용 하여 연소용 Expert system (최적 가공 조건의 설정 System과 Trouble shooting system)을 개발하였다. 또한 연소 가공 Data의 불확실한 애매성을 효과적으로 이용 할 수 있도록 Fuzzy 가능성이론에 의해 가공 Datad을 회귀 분석하여 실가공 Data base에 축적시켜 재활용토록 설계하었으며 개발된 본 System 의 실행 결과 그 활용성이 높음을 입증하였다.

다구찌 방법론에 근거한 초정밀 센터리스 연삭의 최적 드레싱 가공 조건 선정 (Selecting Optimal Dressing Parameters of Ultra-precision Centerless Grinding Based on the Taguchi Methodology)

  • In this study, rotary type diamond dressing system for ultra-precision centerless grinding for ferrule was developed at the first time and experiments were conducted with AE sensor and hall sensor system to verify the optimum dressing condition for ultra-precision centerless grinding for ferrule. The correlations with the condition of dressing are evaluated by AE signal analysis with root mean square (RMS) and frequency analysis. And current signals from hall sensor are also studied as a factor of dressing optimum condition selection. Dressing process was conducted to investigate the effects of depth of cut, rotating speed, and the number of overlap to select the optimum condition of rotary dressing system of ultra-precision centerless grinding machine for ferrule fabrication. In order to verify the optimum condition of dressing, AE and current signals were compared with the surface quality of dressing wheel and grinding wheel for ultra-precision ferrule grinding. All of these experiments were completed by Taguchi Methodology to reduce experimental time. Hence, the optimum condition of rotary dressing system for ultra-precision centerless grinding for ferrule fabrication can be selected following to the experiment result from signals of AE and hall sensor.

  • As the optical communication industry is developed, the demand of optical communication part is increasing. ZrO$_2$ ceramic ferrule is very important part which can determines the transmission efficiency and information quality to connect the optical fibers. In general ZrO$_2$ ceramic ferrule is manufactured by grinding process because the demands precision is very high. And the co-axle grinding process of ZrO$_2$ ceramic ferrule is to make its concentricity all of uniform before centerless grinding. This paper deals with the analysis of the process parameters such as grinding wheel speed, grinding feedrate and regulating wheel speed as influential factors, on the concentricity and surface finish developed based on Taguchi's experimental design methods. Taguchi s tools such as orthogonal array, signal-to-noise ratio, factor effect analysis, etc. have been used for this purpose optimal condition has been found out. Thus, if possible be finding highly efficient and quality grinding conditions.
