The initial NiCuZn synthetic ferrite were acquired from thermally decomposing the metal nitrates Fe($NO_3$)$_3$ㆍ$9H_2$O, Zn($NO_3$)$_2$ㆍ$6H_2$O, Ni($NO_3$3)$_2$ㆍ $6H_2$O and Cu(NO$_3$)$_2$ㆍ $3H_2$O at 1$50^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours and was calcined at $500^{\circ}C$. Each of those was pulverized for 3 and 9 hours in a steel ball mill and was sintered between $700^{\circ}C$ and $1,000^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour, and then their microstructures and magnetic properties were examined. We could make the initial specimens chemically bonded in liquid at the temperature as low as $150 ^{\circ}C$, by using the melting points less than $ 200^{\circ}C$ of the metal nitrates instead of the mechanical ball milling, then narrowed a distance between the particles into a molecular level, and thus lowed sintering temperature by at least $200 ^{\circ}C$ to $300^{\circ}C$ Their initial permeability was 50 to 490 and their saturation magnetic induction density and coercive force 2,400G and 0.3 Oe to 1.2 Oe each, which were similar to those of NiCuZn ferrite synthesized in the conventional process.
The population ecology of Rhinogobius brunneus was investigated on, tributaries of the Bukhan River from May 2003 to June 2005. The habitat was mostly a rapids area with pebbles and cobles in the lower part of the stream. The cohabitation fishes were Zacco platypus, Zacco temmincki, Microphysogobio yaluensis and Iksookimia koreensis. The males and females become sexually mature after one year. Spawning season was from May to June with water temperatures in the range $22{\sim}25^{\circ}C$. The prosperous period was from late May to early June. The average number of eggs in the ovary was $989{\pm}511$ (range, 151~2,209). The year-round sex ratio of female to male was 1 : 0.90. The total length in this population indicated that the below-40 mm group is one year old, 40~52 mm group is two years old, 52~65 mm group is three years old, and the longer-than-65 mm group is over four years old. There were no differences in total length distribution between the males and females. Nests were built up at a water depth of $13.7{\pm}5.8$ (5~31) cm and a current velocity of $9.6{\pm}4.8$ (10~19) cm/sec. Brood size (egg number) of the parental male was $1,974{\pm}1810$ (egg number = $95.022_{TL}-3507$, $r^2=0.3591$, N = 33). Newly hatched larvae that drifted downstream to the lake returned to the stream during late June to August; the smallest size in this population was 20 mm in total length.

Recently Task Group (TG) 4 of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.15a has been recommended a system with ranging capability in existence of multiple Simultaneous operating piconets (SOPs) as well as low-cost, low-power. According to the ranging service, coherent and non-coherent based ranging schemes using ternary code have been adopted as a standard. However it is hard to estimate an accurate time of arrival (TOA) in case of using direct sequence based TOA estimation method because pulse repetition interval (PRI) offered by TG is more limited than the maximum excess delay (MED) of channel. To mitigate inter pulse interference (IPI) problem, this paper proposes a non-coherent TOA estimation scheme using non-periodic transmission (NPT) pattern. The proposed receiver is based on a non-coherent energy detection considering with motivation of low rate wireless personal area network (LR-WPAN). TOA information is estimated via proper comparison with a prescribed threshold after the sliding correlation and search back window (SBW) process for reducing TOA error. To verify the performance of proposed ranging scheme, two distinct channel models approved by IEEE 802.15.4a TG are considered. According to the simulation results, we could conclude that the proposed scheme have performed better performance than the conventional method on the existence of multiple SOPs.
Fish species composition and abundance in the waters of nearby Nakdong River estuary were investigated non-continuously and seasonally by shrimp beam trawl in summer 2007, winter 2009, and from spring 2010 to autumn 2010. During the study period, total fish species were collected 92 species, 36 families in study area. Shannon index was 1.893~2.962, and evenness was 0.050~0.231. Fish species composition was shown interannually and seasonally variations in the waters of nearby Nakdong River estuary. We carryed out cluster analysis to contain the data in previous and current study. Fish species composition was divided 3 groups which were 1987~1988 and 1998, 2001~2002, and 2007~2008 and 2009~2010. Average and minimum length in this study was longer than its in previous studies, and length range in this study was wider than its in previous studies, too. Dominant fish increased individuals and weight per unit area in this study. Especially Lophius litulon, Raja kenojei, Eopsetta grigorjewi, and Zeus faber were much better than past 2002. Liparis tanakai, Repomucenus valenciennei and Leiognathus nuchalis were dominant fish in previous study, but those decreased individuals and weight per unit area in this study.
Larix kaemferi Carr. is one of main timber species in Korea that could be found in plantations and growing stands on all over the country The proper practice of thinning is one of very important techiques in silviculture, which greatly affects the quality and size of timber produced. Proper thinning period is considered to be important for maintaining stand growth before competition initiated. To investigate suitable thinning period, this study investigates the volume and radial growths of Larix kaemferi plantation in Mt. Worak located in the central part of Korea. The main findings and conclusions obtained from this study were as follow ; (1) The tree height curve equation for Larix kaemferi in Mt. Worak was calculated H=4.25783+0.80024D(H=Tree height, D=DBH). (2) To estimate tree volume for Larix kaemferi by DBH and tree height or only by DBH, regression equations were calculated as V=0.00147-0.002095D-0.000211H+0.00015D.H++$0.000744D^2$+$0.000008H^2$(V=Volume(($m^3$), H=Tree height(m), D=DBH(cm)), V=0.0000794-0.000512D+$0.000826D^2$. (3) The criteria of estimating thinning time of Larix kaemferi are the age when maximum tree height-MAI(mean annual increment) obtained and the age when annual DBH increments of dead trees decrease to below average. (4) The age of maximum tree height MAI was not significantly correlated with stocking. Therefore, it can not be used as a criterion for estimating thinning time of Larix kaemferi (5) The estimated thinning time equation of Larix kaemferi was obtained by regression analysis of the disk section collected from dead trees. The obtained equation is Y=0.2825+0.01752X(Y=Desirable thinning age, X=the sum total of nearest 4-trees interval(cm)). (6) General estimated thinning age of Larix kaemferi, which planted 3,086 stocks/ha, is concluded as 12 to 14 year.

In this paper, a curve-fitting channel estimation method is proposed for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system in a time-varying frequency-selective fading channel. The method can greatly improve channel state information (CSI) estimation accuracy by performing smoothing and interpolation through consecutive curve-fitting processes in both time domain and frequency domain. It first evaluates least-squares (LS) estimates using pilot symbols and then the estimates are approximated to a polynomial with proper degree in the LS error sense, starting from one preferred domain in which pilots we densely distributed. Smoothing, interpolation, and prediction are performed subsequently to obtain CSI estimates for data transmission. The channel estimation processes are completed by smoothing and interpolating CSI estimates in the other domain once again using the channel estimates obtained in one domain. The performance of proposed method is influenced heavily on the time variation and frequency selectivity of channel and pilot arrangement. Hence, a proper degree of polynomial and an optimum approximation interval according to various system and channel conditions are required for curve-fitting. From extensive simulation results in various channel environments, we see that the proposed method performs better than the conventional methods including the optimal Wiener filtering method, in terms of the mean square error (MSE) and bit error rate (BER).

The focal spot of electron beam depending on the anode angle in the structure and major parts of the X-ray tube was investigated by the OPERA-3D/SCALAR simulation program. The simulation worked on four spaces with with two spaces, including anode and cathode of X-ray tube, by applying the finite element method analysis. The analytical model and dimension for the emission orbit of thermal electrons made from one filament of the focused X-ray cathode is affected to the penumbra of detector for the X-ray depending on any real focal spot size. The model shape of focusing cap and focusing tube with an anode target angle and a cathode filament is analyzed by the current density distribution of thermal electrons. The focusing width of thermal electrons for the X-ray tube depended on the anode angle (${\theta}$). The focusing value of electron beams at a region of anode angle having $10^{\circ}{\sim}17^{\circ}$ maintained to below value of $70{\mu}m$. The minimum focal size of the electron beam was $40{\mu}m$ at an anode angle of $15^{\circ}$. The focused X-ray tube of many variables depended on the thermionic emission of hot electrons from the target trajectory. The focusing tube will contribute to the real design of X-ray for the development of future diagnosis medical device.
Bulk Emulsion blasts using mechanized charging system, which is generally used in foreign countries, have recently introduced and gradually increased in Korea. The Bulk Emulsion are safe and able to increase the charging density for improvement of fragmentation and advancement especially in tunneling, and minimizing environmental problem. Because of less toxic gas generation, the explosives are called, namely ech-friendly products. There are two kinds of Bulk Emulsion; one is for open cut and the other is for tunneling. According to features of blast sites and its purpose, the compositions are different, but the principle is the same. In this study, trial blasts using Bulk Emulsion for tunneling had executed at 10 sites in Korea. The major result of the major job-sites is the following. First of all, compared with cartridge explosive, Bulk Emulsion was able to increase its charging density up to $35{\sim}60%$, to decrease the blast holes to approximately $10{\sim}30%$ down, and the advancement was improved up to $8{\sim}20%$ and also 30% up in its fragmentation. Toxic gas production after cartridge blasting showed 34.44ppm of its CO. Bulk Emulsion, however, showed 20.13ppm, which was 58.45% production of the cartridge explosive, and NOx was below 2ppm. The mechanized charging system of Bulk Emulsion should be applied to large sized tunnel blasting, long advanced tunnel which can secure the advancement of over $4{\sim}5m$, and the sites required finishing rapidly.
Contamination level and characteristics of Ralstonia solanacearum in soil of greenhouses cultivating tomato plants in Chungbuk province was determined. R. solanacearum was isolated with the semiselective media in 27 greenhouse soil samples out of 133 greenhouses soil investigated, which indicates 20.3 % of tomato cultivating greenhouses in Chungbuk contaminated with the bacterial wilt pathogen. Density of R. solanacearum was estimated to 10$^{2.4}$ cfu/g in the contaminated soil. All 71 isolates of R. solanacearum which containing 12 isolates from the diseased tomato plants were race 1, ann 35 isolates of them were biovar 3 and 36 isolates were biovar 4. More than 88% of 71 isolates were inhibited growth on nutrient agar containing oxolinic acid 0.5 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml, streptomycin 25 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml, tetracycline 5 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml and cupric sulfate 375 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml (1.5 mM). The 11.3%, 4.2% and 5.6 % of the isolates can grow on nutrient agar containing 10 times more oxolinic acid, streptomycin, tetracycline than minimal inhibitory concentration of the sensitive strains. Five isolates were resistant to 2 bactericides and one isolates was resistant to all 3 bactericides.
Bacillus spp. isolated from mushroom medium wastes were evaluated for their biocontrol potentials on control of Sclerotinia rot of lettuce. The Bacillus isolates were more effectively obtained from waste suspension when directly added into nutrient agar(NA) medium than plating on the agar medium. Totally 42 isolates obtained from the wastes B23 and B42 showed highest antifungal activity against eight fungal pathogens such as Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Rhizoctonia solani, Pythium ultimum, Phytophthora capsici, Fusarium oxysporum, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Cladosporium cucumerinum, and Botrytis cinerea and B23 and B42 were finally selected for further studies. Optimal concentration of the isolates was $10ml(10^7cfu/ml)$ to suppress the Sclerotinia rot of lettuce. Supplements such as starch, glycerol, and egg-yolk successfully maintained the bacterial population for 30 days in vitro and increased bio-control potentials against the disease. The bacterial isolate B23 alone showed 72% control value, furthermore it presented 95% control value when supplemented with 0.2% of starch, glycerol, and egg-yolk. The promising Bacillus isolates B23 and B42 were identified as Brevibacillus brevis and Bacillus stearothermophillus, respectively, based on morphological and physiological characteristics according to API database.
