In this study, the perceptions on SW education of K-12 students and teachers were surveyed and analyzed. At the primary school level, there was no significant difference in SW attitude based on school location. However, at the secondary level, students from metropolitan areas showed significantly higher SW attitude scores. In the case of gender, male students showed higher SW attitude scores both in primary and secondary schools. With regard to attitude differences based on prior experience of SW education, students with prior experience showed higher attitude scores in SW education in both primary and secondary schools. The awareness survey among teachers showed that both primary and secondary school teachers showed positive responses to SW education. For the successful induction of the SW education at K-12, four factors (participants, curriculum, teaching-learning method, and support from inside and outside of school) were highlighted.

School facilities are one of the important educational requirements, and it is necessary to maintain safe and sustainable for the ongoing educational environment. For this reason, educational government department have an effort to produce school facilities that have become safe, comfort, convenient and high-quality. There are many methods to improve existing buildings and build new schools by energy efficient technology. Even though educational environment of school facilities are improved by the efforts, the energy consumption has a huge increase. Energy is a major budget item for schools. The accurate estimation of energy cost is critical for effective budgeting and financing for the school facility maintenance. Accurate energy cost estimation also allow for a anticipatable LCC (Life Cycle Cost) of new school facilities. In this study, in order to produce a basic information about the present energy usage status in domestic school facilities, energy usage quantity is regionally analysed according to physical characteristics of elementary, middle, and high school facilities. Those results will give a chance to see deeply the pros and cons of energy usage each regional school facilities.

최근 나타나고 있는 이공계기피 현상으로 인해 우리나라 과학계 및 과학교육은 큰 위기를 맞고 있다. 21세기 국가의 생존을 위해서는 과학기술의 발전이 그 무엇보다도 중요하다. 과학기술 기반을 튼튼히 하기 위해서는 과학기술계에 종사할 적절한 수준의 인적자원이 필요하며, 이와 같은 인적자원 육성은 초중등학교 과학교육에서 기초가 다져진다고 할 수 있다. 교육과정은 학교 교육의 기본 설계도라고 할 수 있기 때문에 교육과정이 어떻게 개정되느냐에 따라 초중등학교의 과학교육은 엄청난 영향을 받게 된다. 현재 제7차 교육과정이 전면적으로 시행되고 있으나 국가${\cdot}$사회의 다양한 요구에 의해 교육과정 개정이 불가피하게 되었으며, 이에 따라 교육인적자원부는 교육과정 개정을 추진하고 있다. 이와 같은 중요한 시기에 우리 나라 과학교육의 문제점과 발전 방안을 모색하는 것은 매우 의미 있는 일이 다.

This study was on the rock garden among the school gardens as survey of 122 schools(60 elementary schools, 34 middle schools and 28 high schools) during 16 months from March 2017 to June 2018, There were 36 rock gardens (29.51%). 40% elementary schools and 18.18% secondary schools (middle and high schools) had the rock gardens. 3 items were surveyed; Was the rock sample in the rock garden related to the curriculum? Was the name of sample correct? Was the content of a sample's exhibition panel suitable? Elementary schools showed 36.7% in response to 'Was the rock sample in the rock garden related to the curriculum', 55.1% in response to 'Was the name of sample correct?' and 55.5% in response to 'Was the content of a sample's exhibition panel suitable?' Secondary schools showed the average 83.9% correlation in the aspect of curriculum, 82.8% accuracy in the aspect of sample name and 84.1% suitability in the aspect of the content of a sample's exhibition panel.

본 연구는 우리 나라의 성인들이 자신의 초중등 학교 시절 경험하였던 학교 과학교육에 대해 어떤 종류의 즐거운 혹은 괴로운 기억들을 현재까지 갖고 있는가를 탐색하였다. 성인들은 오래 전 경험하였던 매우 인상적인 활동이나 장면들을 통해 학교 과학교육을 기억할 것이고, 이러한 기억은 그들의 학교 과학교육에 대한 전반적인 태도에 결정적인 역할을 할 것이다. 따라서 성인들의 학교 과학교육에 대한 이러한 기억들을 살펴보면, 학교 과학교육의 특징을 이해하고 장기적으로 학교 과학교육을 보다 즐거운 경험의 장으로 만드는 데 도움이 될 것이다. 본 연구는 소규모의 설문 조사를 통해 이루어졌으며, 설문 대상은 대구지역의 30-50대 성인 88명이었다. 설문은 현재 과학과 관련된 특정한 직업을 갖고 있지 않은 사람을 대상으로 하였으며, 설문에서 응답자들은 자신들의 초중등 학교 과학교육을 받으면서 가장 즐거웠던 기억과 가장 괴로웠던 기억이 구체적으로 무엇이며 이러한 경험은 초중고 어느 때이었는가를 응답하였다. 성인들이 가장 즐거웠던 기억으로 지적한 것은 실험 실습 활동(65.9%), 야외학습 활동(19.3%) 등으로 전통적인 교실수업 이외의 활동이 약 86%로 나타났다. 그리고 효과적인 교실수업, 교사의 인성적 특징, 과학전람회 참가 등의 경험을 언급한 경우도 부분적으로 있었다. 성인들이 가장 괴로웠던 기억으로 지적한 것은 따분한 교실수업(51.1%), 실험 실습 활동의 부정적인 측면(28.4%) 등으로 나타났으며, 부분적으로 과다한 숙제, 교사의 인성적 특징, 야외학습 활동, 과학수업의 부재 등을 지적한 경우도 있었다. 또한 전체적으로 즐거웠던 기억은 국민학교 시절의 경험에서(56.8%), 반면 괴로웠던 기억은 고등학교 시절의 경험에서(44.3%) 많이 나타났다. 특히, "개구리 해부 실험" 의 경우, 7명이 가장 즐거웠던 기억으로 8명은 가장 괴로웠던 기억으로 언급하여 매우 상반된 견해를 나타냈다. 따라서 동일한 활동일지라도 학생들에게는 매우 상반된 경험으로 작용하게 되며, 이 경우 생명체에 대한 과학실험의 윤리적 문제와 이에 대한 갈등을 분명하게 드러냈다.

The purpose of this study is to present the importance of systematic database education in elementary and secondary schools in Korea. The authors compared the curriculum for database education in elementary and secondary schools of Gyeongsangbuk-do province in Korea with that of Arcola schools in the state of Illinois, US. The database industries of both countries were also compared to suggest the significance of database education in Korea. We have shown that it is urgent to include database education in IT curriculum for elementary and secondary schools in Korea considering importance of database itself as well as the magnitude and growth rate of database industries in 21st century. Contrary to our research results, however, it is shown the IT curriculums of elementary and secondary schools in Korea is hardly adequate to provide systematic database education required in information society. Based on these results, we conclude that IT curriculums should be revised to accommodate systematic database education for elementary and secondary schools in Korea.

현재 초중등 학교에서는 오프라인 방식과 온라인 방식으로 투표를 실시하고 있다. 오프라인 투표는 수업 결손이 많아지고 담당자의 업무 부담이 가중되는 문제점이 있다. 상용화된 전자투표시스템은 학생들의 개인 정보가 외부로 유출될 우려가 있고, 투표 시스템 사용 경비를 지출하는 문제점이었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 초중등학교에서 시행하는 오프라인 방식과 온라인 방식 투표 방식의 문제점을 보완하면서 효율성, 경제성, 접근성, 안전성, 편리성 등을 갖는 전자투표시스템의 설계 내용을 기술한다.

초중등학교에서는 교육 목적의 설문조사를 종종 실시하고 있다. 유료 시스템을 이용하거나 오프라인 설문을 하거나 클라우드 서비스 사이트를 이용하곤 한다. 라임서베이는 학교내에서 설치 운영이 가능한 오픈 소스이지만 사용자 인터페이스가 불편하게 느껴지는 점이 있어 그 사용이 적은 편인데, 본 연구에서는 이를 개선함으로써 사용을 보다 원활하게 하고자 한다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the Elementary and Secondary Education Act(ESEA) of the U.S. reauthorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act in 2015 from the viewpoint of the library and information services, and to derive implications for improving the library and information services. For the first time, ESEA includes effective school library programs and school librarians, and links school library programs and school librarians with literacy, digital literacy, books, resources, up-to-date materials, technology, library services and educational services. It provides a financial and institutional base for library and information services in elementary and secondary schools of the US to be more conducted. In addition, school librarians are required to participate in personalized learning experiences, evidence-based assessments, and professional development in the law, so school librarians must provide library and information services to students, staff, and parents in order to improve student achievement and digital literacy. Based on these analyses, this study discussed strengthening access to the school library, specifying the work of the teacher-librarian's library and information services, strengthening collaboration with school members, educational activities based on evidence base, sharing educational effects and developing of library and information curriculum.
