Analysis of Gaseous Hydrogen/liquid Oxygen Combustion Processes at Supercritical State (초임계 압력에서 기체수소/액체산소의 연소과정 해석)

  • This study has been mainly motivated to numerically model the transcritical mixing and reacting flow processes encountered in the liquid propellant rocket engines. In the present approach, turbulence is represented by the extended k-$\varepsilon$ turbulence model. To account for the real fluid effects, the propellant mixture properties are calculated by using SRK (Souve-Redlich-Kwong) equation of state model. In order to realistically represent the turbulence-chemistry interaction in the turbulent non-premixed flames, the flamelet approach based on the real fluid flamelet library has been adopted. Based on numerical results, the detailed discussions are made for the real fluid effects and the precise structure of the transcritical cryogenic liquid nitrogen jet and gaseous hydrogen/liquid oxygen coaxial jet flame.

  • The solubilities of naphthalene in ammonia could be measured at various temperatures and pressures above the critical point of ammonia to represent the relationship between the solubility and the density of ammonia at desired temperature and pressure by means of a simple equation. This equation allows a calculation of the solubilities at higher and lower pressures. Using the equation, the solution energies, the solution entropies, and the second cross virial coefficients between naphthalene and ammonia have been determined to be compared with those in the case of the dissolution of naphthalene in supercritical carbon dioxide.

  • Liquid nitrogen jet has been imaged by using backlight method. In addition to the images, simultaneously measured temperature by thermocouples has been used to investigate the role of 'Pseudo-flash-boiling' in breakup of the supercritical jet. The backlight image can provide qualitative appearance of the jet, but not the density profile for the high density of injected fluid.

  • 천음속 영역에서 비행하는 에어포일 주위의 유동은 아음속 영역과는 달리 충격파(Shockwave)를 동반하고 이에 따라 복잡한 유동 현상이 발생한다. 본 연구는 천음속 영역에서 설계된 에어포일 주위의 유동에서 충격파 발생에 따른 유동변화의 특징들을 관찰하였다. 특히, 충격파에 의해서 발생하는 진동(Buffeting)과 경계층 유동 박리(Shock-induced boundary layer separation)현상에 대한 관찰과 일반적인 에어포일과 초임계 에어포일(Supercritical airfoil)간의 유동 특성의 차이점을 분석하였다. 본 연구를 위해서 EDISON CFD코드가 사용되었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 resorcinol과 formaldehyde를 이요하여 수상에서 축중합시켜 겔을 만든 후 저온 초임계 건조 공정을 이용하여 겔 구조의 변형없이 용매를 제거하여 내무 표면적과 같은 에어로겔의 최종 물성에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 고형분의 농도(2-5%)를 변화시켜 실험한 결과 초기 반응조건이 반응시간 및 최종물성에 변수가 됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 제조된 에어로겔에 100-30$0^{\circ}C$까지 온도를 가하며 표면 특성을 분석한 결과 열을 가함에 따라 기공의 크기가 커지고 표면적이 감소됨을 관찰할 수 있었다.

A Study on the Power Generation Using Supercritical Carbon Dioxide (초임계 이산화탄소를 활용한 발전에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, the power generation efficiency increase has been studied for a Rankine cycle using both supercritical carbon dioxide as a working fluid and LNG as a coolant with PRO/II with PROVISION release 10.0 from Aveva company. Peng-Robinson equation of the state model with Twu's alpha function was selected for the modeling of the power generation cycle using LNG cold heat. Power generation efficiency was increased from 24.82% to 57.76% when using LNG as a coolant for supercritical carbon dioxide power generation cycle.

  • In this study, the mechanical properties of resource-recycling concrete containing concrete sludge waste as main materials was compared depending on whether supercritical CO2 curing was applied for the realization of CCU technology. After supercritical CO2 curing, the compressive strength of the steam-cured specimen was lowered, but it was confirmed that the compressive strength of the underwater-cured specimen was improved.
