'Seeberry' is a short-day $F_1$ hybrid strawberry for seed propagation, that was released by the Protected Horticulture Experiment Station (RDA, Republic of Korea) in 2013. Inbred lines derived from domestic germplasms and selected varieties were used to develop this cultivar. 'Seeberry' originated from a cross of two inbred lines: a male parent 'Wongyo 3115' with high firmness and a female parent 'Wongyo 3116' with excellent fruit shape and high yield. 'Seeberry' cultivar should be grown with a crown diameter of over 10 mm to reveal its unique characteristics. 'Seeberry' has an upright plant shape with elliptic leaves, 12-15 flowers per cluster, vigorless growth habit, and average flower bud differentiation compared to vegetatively propagated cultivars. Fruits of 'Seeberry' are conical, having light skin color and approximately 15-16 g in average weight. Yield of this cultivar is about 92% lower than that of 'Akihime', but 'Seeberry' has excellent taste, sugar content of $9.7^{\circ}Bx$, acidity of 0.6%, and good texture. With regard to disease and pest resistance, 'Seeberry' is sensitive to powdery mildew, aphids, and the two-spotted spider mite, and is resistant to anthracnose.
A filed experiment was carried out to investigate the effects for growth, yield of red lopper (Saelona) and properties of soil by beer sewage sludge application to the sandy loam which fertility was common. The results obtained were summerized as follows. 1. Growth of red pepper in sludge plot was very poor by drought in early stage, but color of loaves was green and growth strength was better than nontreated plot after rainfall in last stage. There were no significant differencies between plant height, number of branch on main stem and stem height in sludge and standard plot. 2. Yield of matured red pepper per plant in NPK+, and PK+ sludge 1200kg, 2400kg and 4800kg/10a plot were less than those in standard plot respectively. 3. Ratio of dry weight of matured red pepper in NPK+, and PK+ sludge 1200kg, 2400kg and 4800kg/10a were high than those in standard plot appreciably. 4. Sewage sludge application (1200kg/10a. N=51kg) was available as nitrogen source of organic fertilizer considerably, but there were some growth inhibition by excess of amount applied. 5. Sewage sludge application decreased the pH of the soil and increased the content of organic matter and exchangeable babe in the soil appreciably.

'Gwanha' is new strawberry (Fragaria ${\times}$ ananassa Duch.) cultivar, which was released by Highland Agriculture Research Center, Rural Development Administration, in 2011. In 2007, this cultivar was originated from a cross between 'Sucambodiaberry' and 'Selva' that showed excellent ever-bearing characteristics including continuous pink flowering habit under long-day and high temperature condition. It was named 'Saebong No.4' after examining its characteristic and productivity in summer culture from 2009 to 2011. After characteristic and productivity test in 2011, 'Gwanha' was selected as an elite cultivar. The general characteristics of 'Gwanha' include spreading type, middle vigor, elliptic leaf, and long cluster in growth. The fruit shape is wedge, and the red fruit is edible and unique among the domestic ornamental strawberry cultivars. Flower color of 'Gwanha' is pink, and flower cluster is more appearance than 'Pinkpanda'. The average fruit weight of 'Gwanha' is about 7.8 g and the marketable yield is relatively low because of low marketable rate. It is resistant against fusarium wilt. 'Gwanha' is suitable for four season cultivation as an ornamental strawberry cultivar because it shows continuous flowering habit under long-day and high temperature condition.

The 'Hongsil' strawberry ($Fragaria{\times}ananassa$ Duch.) is a new cultivar released by Gyeongsangnam-do Agricultural Research & Extension Services in 2015. This cultivar originated from a 2011 cross between '802a312' and 'Okmae' and exhibited suitable fruit characteristics for export due to the high soluble solids content and firmness of the fruit. The breeding line '1116-74-15' was selected as an elite line after examining its characteristics and productivity from 2013 to 2014. A field trial of this line was conducted on a farm in 2015, and it was registered as 'Hongsil' thereafter. The 'Hongsil' strawberry demonstrates intermediate plant type and moderate vigor in growth. It is suitable for forcing culture due to its early flower bud differentiation and low chilling requirement. The soluble solids content of 'Hongsil' is $10.0^{\circ}Brix$, which is approximately $0.4^{\circ}Brix$ higher than that of 'Seolhyang' The Fruit firmness of 'Hongsil' is $13.1g{\cdot}mm^{-2}$, similar to that of 'Maehyang'. Fruits of 'Hongsil' are long conical having a red skin color and marketable yield is $4,269kg{\cdot}10a^{-1}$ which is 16% higher than that of 'Maehyang'. The 'Hongsil' cultivar is sensitive to powdery mildew, and it therefore warrants further investigation regarding disease control.

In order to classify the varieties by the characters to evaluating potential winter hardiness was examined using the relationships between autumn growth of seedling plants and the dry weight of plant(DW), and yield components of 1st cutting in 16 varieties of perennial ryegrass grown under individual plant basis. The results are summarized as tollows:1. The dry weight of plant(L)W) was positively correlated with the number of tillers of seedling plants, but negatively correlated with seedling vigors of plants in autumn growth. 2. The dry weight of plant(L)W) indicated positively significant correlations with the dry weight of heading tillers(HDW), number of tillers per plant(NT), number of vegetative tillers(VNT), number of heading tillers(HNT), dry weight of a tiller(WT) and heading rates(HR) of 1st cutting.3. Relative tiller appearance rates(RTAK) corresponded with the seasonal patterns of tillering ability. Thevariety with a low values of relative tiller appearance rates(RTAR) showed vigorous tillering ability inautumn growth, but the variety with a high values of relative tiller appearance rates(KTAR) showedvigorous tillering ability in spring growth.4. The dry weight of plant per relative tiller appearance rates(DW/RTAR) indicated positively significant correlations with the dry weight of plant(DU7, plant length(PL), dry weight of heading tillers(HDW), number of tillers per plant(NT), number of heading tillers(HNrr), dry weight of a tiller(WT) and heading rates(HR) of 1st cutting.5. The varieties were classified into 2 groups by the dry weight of plant per relative tiller appearance rates(DW/RTAR). Thus. Manhattan, P-2, Tonga, Tove, Hella. I'eramo and Fiesta belong to the group of DW/RTAII>l. 0, and Maprima, Caliente, Tempo, Gambit, Magella, Prana. Reveille, Barlet and Bravo belong to the group of DW/RTAR

Experiments were conducted to select the optimum cultivars which are adaptable to South Korea through estimating the differences in daughter plant production and growth response among seven strawberry cultivars. In the vegetative stage, Nyoho, Akihime and Suhong produced more daughter plants than other cultivars whereas Akaneko and Tochinomine, which developed less runners, showed better condition in runner vigorness. The quality of daughter plants derived from forcing cultivars was uniform in general. Even though there was no significant differences in rooting among cultivars, runners from Akaneko and Tochinomine developed more roots and fresh weight of roots than other cultivars. In the forcing cultivars, Akihime showed the most excellent plant vigorness, yield and highest sugar content of fruits and also was 5 days faster than Nyoho in flowering date. However, the fruit tended to be softened. In the semi-forcing cultivars, Tochinomine was excellent in vigorness, firmness, sugar content of fruits and the average of fruit weight but low in flower numbers per cluster and late in the emergency of second flower cluster. Although Akaneko showed highest in sugar/acid ratio and rich in flavour, lighting treatment was recommended to this cultivar for early harvest because of softness of fruits.
