A new gerbera cultivar 'Noble Pink' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science (NIHHS) in 2009. A cross was made between 'Himalaya' with white and semi-double and 'Vital' with pastel cream and single in 2006. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2006 to 2009), it was selected specially for the use of cut flower. 'Noble Pink' is a vigorous cultivar with pastel pink flower color (RHS R48B), brilliant green disc floret and semi-double. The average flower diameter is 11.8 cm, large flower. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 4.77 cm and 2.17 cm, respectively. It produces a large yield with continuous supply of cut flowers and has adequate peduncle height. We believe that 'Noble Pink' has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivars and increasing farmers-income.

This experiment was canied out to investigated the effect of slope exposure on winter hardiness of grasses in mountainous pastures of Taekwalyong area The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. Plant vigour(PV) before wintering influenced on the growth of next spring, field survival rates and winter hardiness of grasses. 2. The dry weight of plant per relative tiller appearance rates(DW/RTAR) was significantly negative correlated with plant vigour(PV) before wintering, but the weight of plant per relative tiller appearance rates(DW1 RTAR) were significantly positive correlated with the number of tiller per plant before wintering($NT_O$), number of tillers per plant of 1st cutting(NT), dry weight of plant(DW), field survival rates(SR) and relative tiller appearance rate(RTAR). 3. There ranking order of high winter hardiness of grasses, it were west(W), north-north west(NNW), eastsoutheast( ESE) and south-southwest(SSW) exposure, respectively.

Lilium longiflorum 'Charm' as a $F_1$ hybrid cultivar was released by crossing inbred line '$L_2$-14' and '$L_2$-21' which were obtained from 5 self crosses originated from 'Nellie White', 'Ace' and 'Hinomoto'. The growth and flowering characteristics were evaluated in a greenhouse maintained at a minimum of $13^{\circ}C$ at night during winter in 2006 and 2007. The flower of 'Charm' is white color and horizontal-facing. The flower number of a plant and its diameter is 7.4 and 16.5 cm with 24.5 ornamental(flowering) days. The plant height is 60.3 cm with 70.3 number of leaves. The stem diameter and internode length is 1.2 cm and 1.1 cm, respectively, meaning the plant is compact and sturdy. And the number of seed per a capsule is 251.1. The results of these evaluation, therefore, suggest that seedling Lilium longiflorum 'Charm' can be used as a pot plant due to its short stems, many number of flowers per plant, long ornamental period, strong growth habit with many leaves and thick stem diameter.

A new gerbera cultivar 'Sunny Lemon' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science (NIHHS) in 2009. A cross was made between 'Pavlov' and 'Patrick' with pink and semi-double in 2006. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2006 to 2009), it was selected for the use of cut flower. 'Sunny Lemon' is a vigorous cultivar with yellow flower color (RHS Y9C), brown center and semi-double. The average flower diameter is 11.0 cm. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 7.63 cm and 2.59 cm, respectively. Days to first blooming are 84.5, approximately 2 weeks earlier than the standard cultivar. It produces a large yield with continuous supply of cut flowers and has adequate peduncle height. We believe that 'Sunny Lemon' has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivars and increasing farmers' income.

A new gerbera cultivar 'Whiteny' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science in 2009. A cross was made between 'Wonder King' with white semi-double and 'Ever Green' with pale greenish white and semi-double in 2007. After evaluation of the characteristics for four years (from 2007 to 2010), it was selected specially for the use of cut flower. The 'Whiteny' cultivar has pure white color (RHS W155D) with black disc center and semi-double flower. The average flower diameter is 11.5 cm, large-sized flower. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 7.8 cm and 2.2 cm, respectively. It has a long peduncle height, 52.2 cm, and longer vase life, 12.1 days. And it is also adaptable to the local cultural environment of Korea. It is expected that if the 'Whiteny' cultivar is planted, the royalty paid to foreign varieties can be saved. And the local growers will also be benefitted since the cost of cultivars will be lower than the imported ones.

Cymbidium is one of the largest genus in the orchid family and a number of hybrids have been bred in the world. During mass-propagating the Cymbidium "Dongyang" using the meristem culture technology, a useful leaf mutant was selected from the protocom like bodies. The new Cymbidium variety by in vitro mutangesis from "Dongyang" was named as 'Daegook' in 1998. Compared to Dongyang, "Daegook" mutant has white or yellow stripes along the margin of leaves and flowers. The plant length of "Daegook" was shorter than "Dongyang" and the mean length and width of leaf in "Daegook" was 40 cm and 1.6 cm, respectively. The new variety, "Daegook", is expected to be a popular Cymbidium variety among consumer as a ornamental orchid mutant for pot culture by its fine and unique stripes and growth characters.

I studied on the dual principle the negative-positive toward 'the motion of Taijiquan'. The results are as follows. The grade of comprehension on the dual principle for the negative-positive for human-body is equal to the comprehension on Taijiquan. YeoBiSae is judged abstractly for the image of MuGeug and GiSae for the image of TaeGeug on the motion of Taijiquan progressing program. The motion of Taijiquan is divided up the extension and contraction. In the motion of Taijiquan, the extension exercises make use of positive energy and DogMaeg(독맥), the contraction exercises make use of negative energy and ImMaeg(임맥).

국내의 오이 양액재배기술은 그 역사가 짧을 뿐만 아니라 아직은 학문적인 전문성이나 기술적인 세분화 및 다양화 정도에 있어서 양액재배가 발전된 선진국에 비해 저위 수준에 머물러 있다. 특히, 양액재배 오이는 생육이 빨라 수확시기가 단축되므로 수확기가 단기간에 집중되는 반면, 후기에는 초세가 약화되기 쉬우므로 수확량이 좋지 않은 점이 지적되고 있으며, 저일조ㆍ저온기에 정식되는 작형에서는 과실의 착과율이 저하되는 경우가 많으므로 고형배지경에 있어서 배지의 선택이나 근권온도, 산소 등의 관리에 주의를 기울임과 동시에 정지적엽방법의 개선과 전문적인 요구되는 양액관리기술의 체계적 정립을 통해 오이양액재배시 문제가 되는 조기노화의 원인을 사전에 방지하므로써 장기재배가 가능토록 함과 동시에 양액재배 오이의 생산성과 품질을 획기적으로 향상시킬 수 있는 재배법과 기술체계의 확립이 시급하다. Fragaria ${\times}$ ananassa (Duch.) cultivars, 'Wongyo 3 115' a nd 'Wongyo 3 116', we re bre d as a n inte rme diate parent l ine using heterosis of $F_1$ hybrids in octoploid strawberry. These two new cultivars were developed as inbred lines ($S_9$ generation) propagated from both seed and runners/stolons. 'Wongyo 3115', an inbred line derived from the 'Benihoppe' cultivar, has a semi-upright plant shape showing a vigorless growth habit, weaker than the original 'Benihoppe' cultivar; it has early flower bud differentiation and produces 10 flowers per cluster when grown from healthy seed. 'Wongyo 3115' has low yields of conical type fruit with pink colored skin; average fruit weight is approximately 11 g. The important characteristic of 'Wongyo 3115' is its excellent fruit firmness, firmer than the original variety. 'Wongyo 3116', an inbred line derived from the 'Doyonoka' cultivar, has an upright plant shape, vigorless growth habit, weaker than that of the original 'Doyonoka' cultivar; it has early flower bud differentiation and produces 8 flowers per cluster when grown from healthy seed. 'Wongyo 3 116' has oblate type fruits with red skin and an ave rage weight of approximately 12 g. The important characteristics of 'Wongyo 3116' are excellent fruit shape and higher yield than other inbred lines, although it produces small fruits compared to the original cultivar. Both cultivars have excellent taste, high sugar/acid ratio, and good texture. In regards to disease and pest resistance, 'Wongyo 3115' and 'Wongyo 3116' have a tendency to be sensitive to powdery mildew, anthracnose and the two-spotted spider mite.
