Case Study of Precast Concrete Erection Work of the Heavy-Loaded Long Span Structure (초대형 건축물의 PC부재 양중작업 사례연구)

  • Along with the logistics development, heavy-loaded warehouses and sales facilities tend to be bigger and designed as a PC structures. PC erection work of heavy-loaded structures is influenced by various factors, including the required construction duration, site and surrounding situations, safety, PC member procurement, equipment rental cost, which ultimately impact the construction cost. It requires creative efforts and a lot of time when preparing an erection plan in consideration of these factors, and the plan prepared has a great influence on safety as well as the construction duration and cost. However, many engineers do not have enough experiences on PC erection work of heavy-loaded, long span structures, making it difficult for them to set erection plans and establish simulations. The study's results will provide a knowledge to obtain a solution for engineers to establish PC erection plans of heavy-loaded, long span structures.

  • Recently, the trend has been for buildings to become larger and more sophisticated, and this has created safety issues. Because the buildings are big it takes lots of time to check building codes related to anti-disaster and safety manually, and there is the high possibility of making mistakes. Due to these problems, according to a study, 83% of architecture and construction workers believe that an automated code-checking system is needed. This study researches past automated code checking systems and research activity, and using Building Information Model (BIM) technology, determines the feasibility of developing a system to automatically check domestic codes related to egress and anti-disaster. This paper describes the necessity of an automated building code checking system and expected effects. It then reports whether the methods used in previous studies can be deployed in domestic building code checking and discusses problems and limitations. It also suggests an alternative approach. Although this study covers limited codes related to egress, we need to find out what is needed for automatic general code checking system and do further studies for that.

Development of a Design Chart for the Initial Design Stage of Very Large Floating Structures (초대형 부유식 해상구조물의 초기 설계를 위한 설계차트 개발)

  • We developed a design chart for very large floating structures through intensive hydroelastic analysis. Using this chart, one can predict the hydroelastic response of very large floating structures preliminarily at design stage without the cost-demanding hydroelastic analysis. This paper presents two new design charts based on the theory of VLFS. The purpose of the first design chart is to determine RAOs of the maximum longitudinal stress of VLFS considering properties of waves and structures. The design chart I can be applied to any sizes of VLFS in same aspect ratios and dimensionless stiffness parameters. The second design chart is developed to take into account the actual wave condition by using the Bretschneider spectrum with Beaufort sea state.

  • 최근 건축용 강구조물이 초대형화 및 초고층화됨에 따라 용접물량의 급증하고 있으나 3D 직종에 대한 회피현상으로 용접기능자의 감소 및 인건비의 급증 등으로 인하여 건축용 강 구조물 제작시 경쟁력이 갈수록 저하되고 있다. 이에 대한 자구책으로 강 구조물 제작업체에서는 생산 성을 한층 배가 시킬 수 잇는 용접시공 기술을 자체 개발하거나 외부로부터 도입하고 있다. 본 보에서는 당사를 비롯하여 여러 업체에서 최근 개발된 용접기술 특히 대전류 SAW 기법, SESNET 기법 등의 초대입열 용접기술, Metal cored wire나 TIME 기법에 의한 고능률 GMAW 기법 및 Robot 용접 등에 대하여 간략히 기술하였다. 이 용접기술들의 적용에는 대개 고가의 시설투자가 수반되나, 이는 생산성 증가에 따른 원가절감으로 충분히 상쇄될 수 있다. 그러나 상기된 용접기술들의 적용에 대한 성패는 용접장비의 특성, 용접조건의 확립, 모재의 특성 혹은 주변 자동화 기술 및 상호 종속적인 관계에 크게 의존된다. 따라서 가 강 구조물 제작업체에서는 세심한 주위환경 분석을 토대로 각 업체에 가장 합당한 용접기술을 선정 및 적용하여야 하겠다.

  • 본 논문은 대형 건축물 내에서의 보행자 대피 시뮬레이션을 위해, 광범위한 네트워크 모델과 세밀한 네트워크 모델을 통합하는 방법과보행자가 자연스럽게 벽이나 장애물을 피하면서 이동할 수 있도록 하는 개선된 보행자 이동 모델을 제안한다. 제안하는 네트워크 모델을 통해 기존의 광범위 네트워크 모델에서 분석할 수 없는 보행자 개개인의 이동정보를 세밀한 네트워크보다 적은 양의 연산으로 계산할 수 있었고, 개선된 보행자 이동 모델을 통해 보행자가 자연스럽게 벽이나 장애물을 피하면서 이동할 수 있도록 하였다. 제안하는 방법을 대형 건축물인 코엑스 몰에 적용하여 대피 시뮬레이션을 수행한 결과, 3000명의 보행자에 대해 초당 10번 이상의 시뮬레이션 정보를 계산할 수 있었고, 대피 시의 방향 유도에 따른 대피 시간을 확인할 수 있었다.

Retrofit of Artificially Perforated Shear Wall in Existing Structure (인위적인 개구부를 가지는 전단벽의 보강)

  • A series of three shear wall specimens were tested under constant axial stress and reversed cyclic lateral loading to evaluate the capacity of seismic retrofit proposed for the shear wall with the opening induced by remodeling. One specimen was tested in the as-built condition and the others were retrofitted prior to testing. The retrofit involved the use of carbon fiber sheets and steel plates (thickness ; 3mm) over the entire face of the wall. Specimens were 1/2-scale representations of a one-story wall in a Korean apartment building that was built in 1980. The test results showed that failure mechanism of specimens governed by shear fracture and the strength of specimens was varied with according to the retrofitting strategies.

  • Because of the characteristics relating to high tensile ductility, High Performance Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composites (HPFRCC) are studied to be adopted in repair and retrofit of buildings. A series of three shear wall specimens was tested under constant axial stress and reversed cyclic lateral loading in order to evaluate the seismic retrofit that had been proposed for the shear wall with the opening. The retrofit involved the use of newly developed ECC and MDF(Macro Defect Free), both of which are sprayed through the high pressure pump, over the entire face of the wall. The results indicate that two difference types of retrofitting strategy make the different effects of a rise in the strength and ductility of each specimen.

Study on Exposed Piping with High Risk of Fire (화재 위험성이 높은 노출배관 사용에 관한 연구)

  • PVC pipe has excellent corrosion resistance and chemical resistance and is broadly used. However there are no regulations regarding exposed piping material in buildings. There is growing concern about the vulnerability of piping to fires and generating toxic gas. Exposed piping should be made of incombustible materials to prevent spreading of toxic gas and to minimize damage to life and property in case of fire. Many big structures are being built, and concerns regarding damage by fire are continuously growing. In these circumstances, we should reinforce fire safety standards for buildings and heighten safety consciousness to become a well-developed country. For these reasons, we investigated the materials used for exposed piping and the standards of well-developed countries to enhance safety. We tried to figure out the alternatives by examining the actual conditions of each region's buildings. Based on the use of incombustible materials for exposed piping in each region, we tried to enhance the effectiveness for safety by suggesting revisions for related laws and regulations.

Structural Performance of Reinforced Concrete Shear Walls Partially Cutted for Opening (개구부 설치를 위해 인위적 손상을 가한 전단벽의 구조성능 평가)

  • The more demands on efficient utilization of resources, the more structural engineers prefer to select remodeling to improve old building's capacity. A series of four shear wall specimens were tested under constant axial stress and reversed cyclic lateral loading in order to evaluate the effect of the opening on the lower center of the wall induce by remodeling. Consequently, the existence of opening was verified to induce a different failure, which was caused by reduction of compression strut area formed on the wall to diagonal direction. Especially, the ultimate strength of the wall with an opening was revealed approximately 35% lower than that of the wall without an opening. And the similar results were appeared in characteristics of stiffness and energy dissipation capacity.
