Suggestion of the Developing the Dance Major Curriculum on the Basis of Employment (시장중심 무용학과 교과과정 모형 개발 제안)

  • The purpose of this study is to make proposal an oriented-market curriculum of related dance major through analyzing the current curriculum and graduates' employment rate and occupational category of ten universities for last 3 years. This study suggested that Employment rate of the related-dance department graduates decreased considerably last year, which frist asked health insurance for calculating employment rate compared with 2008, 2009 year. The occupational category which is related dance occupied over half of whole occupation and office and sport job were taken to scale. It was necessarily to set up subjects such as body structure and function, administration, management, IT, integration, performance project, pedologics, and gerontology to meet the demand of times. The development of new job market which is connected with related-job subjects will be needed to increase employment rate and variety of occupational category of graduates from dance department.

The Verification of Physique and Physical Fitness Differences Through Bone Age and Chronological Age Among Adolescents (청소년들의 골연령과 역연령을 통한 체격과 체력의 차이 검증)

  • This study was conducted on the assumption that bone age would be more effective when it comes to physique and physical fitness assessment for adolescents, and the purpose of this study was to identify the differences in physique and physical fitness for students in their adolescence through bone age and chronological age in order to contribute to the well-balanced physique and physical fitness development in adolescents and the health improvement in students. Total 874 adolescents(483 males, 391 females) aged 11~16 were selected as subjects out of the total population of 1100 adolescents aged 6~16 based on the PAPS(Physical Activity Promotion System) and age standards of the TW3 method; and skeletal maturation, which symbolize the indicators of biological maturation, were evaluated by using the TW3(Tanner-Whitehouse 3) method after hand-wrist radiographs, and birth date was used for chronological age. A stadiometer and InBody 270 (Biospace, Korea) were used to measure 2 components in physique. A total of 7 components in physical fitness, which included muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, power, cardiovascular endurance, balance, agility, were measured as well. A independent samples t-test was conducted for data processing using SPSS 25.0, and the significance level was set at p< .05. The study results are as follows. First, bone age and chronological age used for physique comparison in males aged 11 and 12, height and weight showed significant difference; in males aged 13, weight showed signicant difference. Weight and height in females aged 11, and height in females aged 12 showed significant difference. Second, bone age and chronological age used for physical fitness comparison in males aged 11, muscular strength, power, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance showed significant difference; in males aged 12, muscular strength. power, cardiovascular endurance; in males aged 13, flexibility showed significant difference. Muscular strength, power, flexibility, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance in females aged 11, and flexibility in females aged 14 showed significant difference. As a result, this study concluded that in a period of rapid skeletal growth, evaluating physique and physical fitness based on bone age is more accurate than evaluating based on chronological age.

Directions to Improve Specialized Knowledges and Practical Abilities for Taekwondo Majoring University Students (태권도 전공 학생들의 태권도에 대한 전문지식과 전문 실기 능력 향상을 위한 개선 방향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify contents of Taekwon and to improve specialized knowledges and practical abilities for Taekwondo majoring university students. The sample was categorized into college and student. The first round survey was divided into two parts in finding possible ways to improve practical abilities from students and school authority perspectives. The second round was conducted through survey by dividing respondents into students and school authority. The third round was performed to identify the nessessities and problems in relation to specialized knowledge and practical abilities such as sparring, poomsae, and demonstration. Based on the findings, three critical themes were identified: motivating them to accumulate specialized knowledge, providing opportunities to practice, and offering diverse job directions. Students indicated several critical themes such as recognition of job opportunities in different domains, endeavour to increase communication ability with others in different domains, reconsideration to learn things in different domains, and efforts to take an interests in life-time Taekwondo. The findings provide ideas in applying practical knowledge into the field and in changing students' perception in terms of Taekwondo majoring. They are specialized knowledge and practical ability improvement based upon college authority and students (15 college authority items, 9 student items).

The Analysis on Scope and Sequence of Physical Education Major Curriculum In Korea Universities (체육교육학과 전공교육과정의 스코프 및 시퀀스 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze scope and sequence of undergraduate curricula in the department of physical education. For this purpose, this paper has used the types of undergraduate subjects, which are based on analysis tools on the scope and the sequence of the Department of Education major curriculum by Kim and Lee(2005). The major results of this study were as follows. First, the proportion of major content knowledge is far more pedagogical content knowledge. Second, the scope of Physical Education major curriculum is too much stressed on 'the subjects of major content' and on 'the subjects of specific area' than 'the subjects of major skills' and 'comprehensive problem solving'. Third, the Physical Education major curriculum has shown the specific sequence; introduction/foundation courses and theory courses, application courses orderly. Whileas, application course and synthesis course are slim to none.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 발목관절의 발등굽힘 가동범위에 따라 동적 균형능력을 평가하는 Y-Balance Test와의 관계를 규명하고자 하였다. 이 연구 결과 HADR군에서 PLRD(P<.05)와 CS(P<.01)에서 유의한 차이가 나타났으며, 발목관절 발등 굽힘의 가동범위와 뒤안쪽 도달거리(PMRD), 뒤가쪽 도달거리(PLRD) 및 종합점수(CS)만 중등도의 유의한 상관관계가 나타났다. 따라서 발목관절 발등굽힘의 감소는 균형능력 능력을 감소와 관련이 있으며 축구선수의 손상의 예방하기 위해서는 정기적인 발목 관절가동범위를 평가가 필요한 것으로 생각된다.

  • 본 연구는 전방머리자세 대학생을 대상으로 목뼈안정화운동이 머리뼈척추각, 깊은목굽힘근 지구력 및 뒤통수밑근 근긴장도의 변화를 알아보고자 하였다. 이 연구 결과 CSEG에서 CVA, DNFET에서 유의하게 증가하였으며 뒤통수근 근긴장도에서는 경직도에서만 유의하게 감소하였다. 목뼈 안정화운동은 목뼈의 중립자세를 유지하면서 깊은목 굽힘근 활성화되고 근지구력이 향상되었으며, 턱을 당기는 동작으로 튀통수근의 경직이 감소한 것으로 생각된다. 또한 지구력 증가시키고 근 긴장도에 감소는 통증을 조절함에 있어서도 도움이 될 것이다. 따라서 목뼈안정화운동은 깊은목굽힘근과 뒤통수근의 개선을 위한 중재방법임을 확인할 수 있었으며, 전방머리자세 예방하기 위해 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

Comparison of Nutrient Intakes, Serum Minerals and Lipids between Physical Education Major and Non-major Students (체육전공과 비전공 남학생의 영양섭취, 혈청 무기질과 지질 함량 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate daily nutrient intakes, serum minerals and lipids in university students majoring in physical education. Anthropometric measurement, dietary survey, and blood analysis were conducted and compared between physical education major (PM) and other major (OM) students. Average age was 21.3 years for PM students and 20.8 years for OM students. Body weight and BMI of PM students were significantly higher than those of OM students (p<0.05). Systolic blood pressure of PM students was significantly lower than that of OM students (p<0.05). Daily energy intake was 2,047.4 kcal for PM students and 2,393.9 kcal for OM students, indicating a significant difference. Carbohydrate and vitamin B1 intakes of PM students were significantly lower than those of OM students. Serum calcium was significantly higher in PM students while serum phosphorus and magnesium levels were higher in OM students. Serum total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol were significantly lower in PM students while HDL-cholesterol was lower in OM students. In conclusion, university students who major in physical education showed higher serum calcium, lower serum phosphorus and magnesium, and lower systolic blood pressure and serum cholesterol levels than other major students. These results show that physical activity as a major course of study is associated with decreased blood pressure and blood lipids as well as altered serum mineral levels.

The Nutrition Knowledge, Attitudes, and Dietary Habits of Physical Education Majors and Non-majors of Male College Students (체육전공 남학생과 비전공 남학생의 영양지식, 식태도 및 식습관에 관한 연구)

  • This study was performed to investigate the nutrition knowledge, attitudes, and dietary habits of physical education (PE) major and non-majors of male college students. The subjects were 253 students residing in Gyeonggi area. Nutrition knowledge scores of PE major students were lower than that of non-major students. Both PE major and non-major students reported TV, radio, and internet as their primary sources of nutrition information. Overall dietary attitude scores of two groups did not differ significantly, but PE major students showed more positive attitudes than non-major students for 'Enjoy eating foods that are good for health'. PE major students took more number of meals a day and took more irregularly than non-major students. Also they used more nutrient supplements than non-major students. PE major students drank more amounts of alcohol and drank more frequently than non-major students. But the smoking status of the two groups was not significantly different. PE major students scored higher than non-major students in dietary habits on balance of meals in spite of their low nutrition knowledge scores. A Kinematics Analysis of Handstand of University Students Majoring in Physical Education (사범계 체육전공 대학생 물구나무서기 동작의 운동학적 분석)

  • The purpose of the study is to search for the possibility of the application of kinematics analysis to physical education at schools and expand its scope of application. This study chose 9 college students majoring in physical education and classified them into type A group who can make the straight, vertical handstand, type B group whose waist is bent, type C group who cannot handstand completely. The center of mass, distance between hand and leg, and the angle and angular velocity of each joint were obtained. The result of this study is this. 1. The time for CM showed 6:4 for A group and 5:5 for B and C groups. The distance between hand and foot in the event 3 was 44% of the height for A group, and 41% for B and C groups. A Group showed the higher CM positional significant difference, it was vertically direction below the hip joint at front. For significant difference of the B Group showed horizontal and vertical velocity of the CM, the highest vertical was obtained in phase 3. The difference of angle of shoulder join in the flexion/extension was showed gradually extension event 2 and the height angular velocity was at phase 3 in the A group. 2 The analysis of the handstand motion revealed that the phase 3, but the maintenance of posture start part the handstand is also very important. Through these results, this study confirmed that the time for phase of the CM, horizontal and vertical positions, velocity, the distance between hands and foot, and the difference of the angle and angular velocity of hip joint and shoulder joint can be set as the variables of analysis. It was also definite cause that the handstand motions of college students majoring in physical education had many difference in performance.

The Effects of Smoking on Aerobic Physical Fitness Factors among Physical Education Major Male University Students Participating in Regular Exercise (체육전공 남자 대학생의 흡연여부가 유산소 체력요인에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of smoking on aerobic physical fitness among physical education major male university students participating in regular exercise. Methods: A group of 42 healthy male students majoring physical education were divided into two groups: non-smokers (n=$26, 20.61{\pm}2.78 $yrs) and smokers (n=16, $21.25{\pm}2.29 $ yrs). Graded exercise testing for maximal oxygen consumption ($VO_2max$) was measured by Bruce protocol. Results: $VO_2max$ was not different between non-smokers and smokers, however, exercise duration time in non-smokers was more longer than smokers'. In non-smokers, ventilatory threshold (VT) time was delayed longer than smokers (p<0.01). %VT/VEmax was significantly different between non-smokers and smokers (p<0.01). Resting heart rate (p<0.01) and recovery heart rate at 80 seconds (p<0.01) in non-smokers were significantly lower than those of smokers. The decrease in heart rate recovery in non smokers was greater than in smokers at 40(p<0.05), 60(p<0.05) and 80(p<0.01) seconds. Conclusions: These results suggest that smoking has negative effects on aerobic fitness of male university students in physical education major.
