Objectives : This study was performed to enhance a rate of Using oral clinic and to search related factors of using oral clinics. Methods : The subjects of the study were 74,698 subjects who answered to the 2007 korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based survey. Answers of 73,836 subjects were used for the final analysis. We used spss of version 12.0. This study conducted a Chi-square test to identify using oral clinics rate according to characteristics of subjects and a multivariate logistic regression analysis to identify whether they are independently significant. Results : Tooth scaling experiences were responded by 10,060 subjects(25.6%). Grade and metropolis, economic level had significant associations with using oral clinic experiences. The rate of using oral clinic showed significant difference in point, depending on general characteristics. Their oral health showed significant difference in point between using oral clinic experience and non-experience groups. According to the multiple logistics regression analysis whose significant independent variables were sex, grade, metropolis, economic level, blooding gum, tooth brushing, oral malodor. Conclusions : The policy is needed to prevent economic constraints from worsening oral health by supporting the poor. And our government should eventually prepare a public relation program suitable for public.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of 'The Reading with Library' program in the national library for Children and Young Adults. For this study, data was collected through surveys with 590 children in 46 institutions that participated in '2009 The Reading with Library'program. The study mainly focused on three factors - Children's Self-Esteem, Sociality, and Reading Ability and Questionnaire surveyed. The study revealed that 42(91.3%) among 46institutions showed improvement in the Children's Self-Esteem, Sociality, and Reading Ability test. As the result, 11 institutions (23.9%) were influenced by the program.

The incidence of endobronchial tumor in the pediatric period is very rare and the symptoms are very close to those of respiratory tract infection. Diagnosis can be delayed because of low clinical suspicion and the many ways in which these tumors can present. We report the first case, in Korea, of a pulmonary carcinoid tumor that presented with recurrent pneumonia at the same location in adolescence. Treatment is surgical and geared towards complete resection while sparing healthy lung parenchyma. Long-term and careful follow up is recommended to detect local and distant metastasis.

This study evaluated the core project operations of the National Library for Children & Young Adults to provide suggestions for its key functions and project operations plan. For this purpose, we conducted a survey for children's librarians and a focus group interview with the directors of children's libraries. The result showed that the overall functions were considered important and the contributions of the core project operations were rated positively. Among the core projects, 'Reading Promotion Program for Children' appeared to contribute most, while the most needed areas were contents development and continuous support for the reading promotion program for young adults. In addition, the need for diverse contents development, instructors and education tools were suggested for continuing education program, along with strengthening policy development and research functions.

The purpose of this study is to explore in depth experience of child secondary victimization after sexual violence incident. In order to achieve this study goal, this study contact six child who experienced sexual abuse and acknowledged secondary victimization, and collected data by indepth interview about 2~4 times. collected data was analysed by Colaizzi's analysis method. The results of this study can draw six subcategories. Six subcategories are 'school to collapse protective device', 'family not to depend on' 'judicial authority to fester a wound' 'assailant to rub salt into a wound', and the people around him merely looked on. secondary victimization of child sex abuse victims signify experience to give menace such as huge blow after first victimization. Based on result of analysis, this study suggest and implication of social welfare to prevent Secondary Victimization of sexual violence victim child.

This study was intended to verify the impact on the quality of service for employees of youth training facilities. The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for improving service quality by analyzing the factors influencing service quality of youth training facility workers. Data were collected from 110 youth training facilities in Busan. The results showed that social support, emotional labor and self-efficacy had a static effect on the quality of service. Based on the results of this study, the following suggestions were made. First, in order to enhance social support, it is necessary to strengthen regular networking with other agency workers, interview with middle managers, and counseling. Second, to raise emotional labor, it is necessary to imprint a sense of mission as a youth leader. Psychological and emotional programs should also be developed and implemented. Third, in order to increase the self-efficacy, it is necessary to strengthen the administrative super vision and strengthen related education such as image making.

This study aims to understand the relationship between the practice of physical activity guideline for adolescents presented by government agencies and smartphone problem experience. To that end, the association between the practice of physical activity guideline and smartphone variables was analyzed by utilizing 62,225 data from "2017 Youth Health Behavior Survey" and multiple regression analysis was conducted using the SPSS 23.0 program. The analysis showed that all physical activity variables, except for "physical activity for more than 60 minutes," have negative effects on the smartphone problem experience. In addition, students who practice physical activity guideline presented by government agencies, such as aerobic exercise, muscular exercise, participation in sports clubs, and sedentary behavior, experienced less smartphone problem compared to those who did not practice, which showed significant differences in gender. According to the results of this study, it is thought that academic in-depth research using this guideline and differentiated physical activity promotion programs by gender will be possible in order to prevent smartphone addiction.

School closures during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic have been outlined in studies from different disciplines, including economics, sociology, mathematical modeling, epidemiology, and public health. In this review, we discuss the implications of school closures in the context of the current COVID-19 pandemic. Modeling studies of the effects of school closures, largely derived from the pandemic influenza model, on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 produced conflicting results. Earlier studies assessed the risk of school reopening by modeling transmission across schools and communities; however, it remains unclear whether the risk is due to increased transmission in adults or children. The empirical findings of the impact of school closures on COVID-19 outbreaks suggest no clear effect, likely because of heterogeneity in community infection pressure, differences in school closure strategies, or the use of multiple interventions. The benefits of school closings are unclear and not readily quantifiable; however, they must be weighed against the potential high social costs, which can also negatively affect the health of this generation.

Objectives：Mental health problems have been found to be more common among juvenile delinquents. This report assessed the reliability, and validity of the MAYSI-2K(Massachusettes Youth Screening Instrument-2 Korean) in Korean delinquents to examine the utility as a screening measure. Methods：The study consisted of 119 male juvenile youths(mean age 16) who admitted in the probation & detention office. They completed an assessment battery including MAYSI-2K and K-YSR(Korean-Youth Self Report) upon entry. Factor analysis, reliability test, and validity test were conducted. Results：The results of factor analysis represented 14 factors which showed more factor structures in comparison with published factor loadings of 7 in the MAYSI. In factor analysis according to the each subscale of the MAYSI, the internal coefficients of 7 subscales ranged from .142 to .756. Test-retest reliability revealed significant correlations(r= .84). There were significant correlations among subscales of MAYSI-2K and K-YSR. Conclusion：Our findings suggested that MAYSI-2K might be a useful screening measure. But further studies with extended number of subjects and culturally appropriate items are required for clinical utility of the MAYSI-2K in Korean delinquents.

Although the need for education on sexually-transmitted-infections (STIs) for adolescents has been increasing, a limited number of adolescents receive STI education. Importantly, the exposure of youth to an STI during their adolescence period can seriously affect their genital health. Smartphones are an innovative medium that can be used to change individual behaviors, especially useful when used to educate adolescents. Therefore, we developed a customized smartphone application for Korean adolescents. The application was based on Dick and Carey's instructional system design model. In this paper, we describe the process for development of the smartphone application, and the strategies we applied to attract adolescents to use the smartphone application. Six experts verified the educational content of the application. The application's easygoing words were chosen to help adolescents understand the topic. Strategies such as cartoon clips, secret chat rooms, buttons changing color from blue to grey, questions and answers, and a repeated-learning function were used to attract Korean adolescents to the application. The smartphone application developed in this study could be used in schools, youth centers, and hospital centers to improve STI knowledge, STI prevention, and STI coping skills.
