An Exploratory Study on the Interaction between Learning Orientation and Environmental Turbulence - The Case of Railway Public Organizations - (학습지향성과 환경격변성의 상호작용에 관한 탐색적 연구 - 철도공기업을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to depict statistically and exploratively the interrelationship among learning orientation, environmental turbulence, and performance in the railway public organizations. To attain this purpose, a questionnaire was provided based on literature survey, and 616 respondent's data received was tested for its validity and reliability. And then, simple and vertical regression analysis were performed. The main findings are as follows: First, learning orientation has a relatively positive effects on performance. Second, environmental turbulence shows a partial moderating effects on the relationship between learning orientation and performance. These findings suggest that learning orientation do exist as an important organizational cultural dimension that contributes to the acquisition of sustainable competitive advantage, and some restrictive factors of public organizations seem to inevitably disrupt the intrinsic necessity of learning in the railway organizations.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to quantitatively identify the environmental contribution generated by urban rail users in the metropolitan area. Method: As for the analysis method, the mode choice and assignment of the traffic demand analysis were repeatedly performed on the assumption that each line was not opened for the metropolitan urban railway lines 1 to 9. After that, the environmental contribution according to changes in demand for the road was analyzed. Result: The total amount of carbon dioxide emissions and benefits were found to be the largest for subway line 1. However, when considering the number of stations and length, it was analyzed that the environmental contribution was the greatest in Metro Line 4. Conclusion: Measures to promote the use of public transportation are representative of environmental improvement policies, but there is a limit in that it is difficult for actual users/non-users to feel it. Therefore, it is judged that it is necessary to quantitatively present the effect in order to improve and spread awareness of the environment.

  • 21세기의 사회적 환경변화는 크게 개도국의 인구증가, 선진국 인구감소, 인구의 노령화(2025년 전세계 인구의 20%가 65세 이상)와 연관된 인구통계의 변화와 경제발전으로 인한 세계화, 도시화(현재 전세계 인구의 45%가 도시지역에 생활하고 있으나, 2025년에는 60%로 증가) 등의 문제가 나타날 것으로 예측되며, 이로 인해 유동인구 및 물동량의 증가로 수송시스템에 대한 수요가 급격하게 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 특히 철도는 안전성, 정시성, 환경친화성, 대량수송성, 경제성 등에 장점을 바탕으로 국가교통의 핵심수단으로 확대되고 있다. 그러나, 미래사회는 각종 재해, 테러 등 다양한 위험원의 증가에 노출되면서, 안전에 대한 사회적 요구도 또한 증대될 것이다.   • In 2004, KTX operated in Korea on the 5th in the world. But there are various factor on planed schedule delay of Big National Construction Project like Seoul-Busan High Speed Rail Project(Seoul-Busan HSR). For example, Often change of government policy, project management control problem of design and construction, conflict of interested party like environmental organization/resident are the main delay factors. The suggestions for improvement of the construction schedule through the Seoul-Busan HSR will help to make a new leap forward in rail construction.

Characteristics of Fe Reduction Process of Shallow Groundwater in a Reclaimed Area, Kim-je (김제시 간척지역 천부 지하수내 철 환원작용 특성에 대한 고찰)

  • The study area is located on the western coastal region of Korea, partly had been reclaimed lands. Groundwaters of the coastal area show lower Eh and DO values (Eh: 0.57 V ${\rightarrow}$ 0.13 V, DO; 9.7 mg/l ${\rightarrow}$ 1.3 mg/l), and higher Fe concentrations (> 20 mg/l) than those of the inner land (< 0.3 mg/l), indicating that the redox condition of groundwater changes from oxic into suboxic/anoxic conditions as it flows from the inland toward the coastal area. In addition, Fe speciation of groundwater from the coastal area demonstrates that the most dissolved Fe exist as $Fe^{2+}$, reflecting that groundwater is under the anoxic condition to sufficiently occur Fe reduction. According to the result of Fe extraction with the sediment samples from three wells (A, B, C), the sediments provide enough $Fe^{3+}$ to occur the Fe reduction in the groundwater. Integrated all results of the groundwater and sediment, we infer that the Fe reduction to occur in groundwater is associated with the reclamation processes of the study area.
