An Alternative One-Step Computation Approach for Computing Thermal Stress of Asphalt Mixture: the Laplace Transformation (새로운 아스팔트 혼합물의 저온응력 계산 기법에 대한 고찰: 라플라스 변환)

  • Computing low temperature performance of asphalt mixture is one of the important tasks especially for cold regions. It is well known that experimental creep testing work is needed for computation of thermal stress and critical cracking temperature of given asphalt mixture. Thermal stress is conventionally computed through two steps of computation. First, the relaxation modulus is generated thorough the inter-conversion of the experimental creep stiffness data through the application of Hopkins and Hamming's algorithm. Secondly, thermal stress is numerically estimated solving the convolution integral. In this paper, one-step thermal stress computation methodology based on the Laplace transformation is introduced. After the extensive experimental works and comparisons of two different computation approaches, it is found that Laplace transformation application provides reliable computation results compared to the conventional approach: using two step computation with Hopkins and Hamming's algorithm.

Numerical Modeling for the Identification of Fouling Layer in Track Ballast Ground (자갈도상 지반에서의 파울링층 식별을 위한 수치해석연구)

  • Recently, attempts have been made to detect fouling patterns in the ground using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) during the maintenance of gravel ballast railway tracks. However, dealing with GPR signal data obtained with a large amount of noise in a site where complex ground conditions are mixed, often depends on the experience of experts, and there are many difficulties in precise analysis. Therefore, in this study, a numerical modeling technique that can quantitatively simulate the GPR signal characteristics according to the degree of fouling of the gravel ballast material was proposed using python-based open-source code gprMax and RSA (Random sequential Absorption) algorithm. To confirm the accuracy of the simulation model, model tests were manufactured and the results were compared to each other. In addition, the identification of the fouling layer in the model test and analysis by various test conditions was evaluated and the results were analyzed.

A Study on the Traffic Volume Correction and Prediction Using SARIMA Algorithm (SARIMA 알고리즘을 이용한 교통량 보정 및 예측)

  • In this study, a time series analysis technique was applied to calibrate and predict traffic data for various purposes, such as planning, design, maintenance, and research. Existing algorithms have limitations in application to data such as traffic data because they show strong periodicity and seasonality or irregular data. To overcome and supplement these limitations, we applied the SARIMA model, an analytical technique that combines the autocorrelation model, the Seasonal Auto Regressive(SAR), and the seasonal Moving Average(SMA). According to the analysis, traffic volume prediction using the SARIMA(4,1,3)(4,0,3) 12 model, which is the optimal parameter combination, showed excellent performance of 85% on average. In addition to traffic data, this study is considered to be of great value in that it can contribute significantly to traffic correction and forecast improvement in the event of missing traffic data, and is also applicable to a variety of time series data recently collected.

Development of a Nondestructive Seismic Technique for Flexural Rigidity of Concrete Track as Slab Displacement Index (콘크리트 슬래브궤도의 휨강성 평가를 위한 비파괴 탄성파 기법의 개발)

  • Recently, concrete tracks are introduced into high-speed railroads as an alternative to ballast tracks. Concrete tracks are superior to ballast tracks in the aspect of durability, maintenance and safety. However, deteriorated stiffness of railroad bed and settlement of soft ground induced by trapped or seepage water lead to problems in safety of train operation. In this research, flexural rigidity of concrete tracks was employed as an index of track displacement and a new seismic technique called FRACTAL (Flexural-Rigidity Assessment of Concrete Tracks by Antisymmetric Lamb Waves) method was proposed to delineate flexural rigidity of concrete tracks in a 2-D image. In this paper, to establish theoretical background, parametric research was performed using numerical simulations of stress-wave tests at concrete tracks. Feasibility of the FRACTAL technique was proved at a real concrete track for Korean high-speed trains. Validity of the FRACTAL technique was also verified by comparing the results of impulse-response tests performed at the same measurement array and the results of DC resistivity survey performed at a shoulder nearby the track.

  • This paper studied the cause of the deterioration of the four 3-Arch tunnels built in mid-1990. The common deteriorations of the four 3-Arch tunnels were longitudinal cracks, leakage and efflorescence at the same parts of lining concrete. Three fourths of 3-Arch tunnels, there was high percentage longitudinal cracks and a quarter was low frequency about longitudinal cracks. So the material reviewed to find out the differences between two groups in construction process and analysis was conducted such as non-destructive testing, precise visual survey and safety evaluation of one tunnel which had bad ground condition As the result, the tunnels were safety condition and the primary deterioration occurred during the construction process, namely, problems arrangement of rebar and the effects of the blast at middle tunnel.

  • Overall 25~30 new golf courses are opening in Korea these days, and total annual rounds have been also increasing by 10~15% every year. The Korean golf industry is being recognized as the largest growing golf industry in the world. However, it is easily defined that there are many problems of golf course development and construction methods such as construction fees. The average construction cost for golf course development and golf course maintenance fees in Korea are much more than the cost in the USA and other countries. It may be due to the fact that USA golf course development is managed by a highly developed construction method and well trained specialists. This study will be concentrated on one of the major differences, which is about cart path material; this causes a big difference of construction and maintenance fees. In order to overcome this study, concrete and asphalt will be specified as the main cart path material. Also, some case studies and construction regulations of golf course development in the USA will be introduced for a better understanding of this study.

  • SWAT 모형은 우리나라 논 지역에서의 수리관행을 이행할 수 있도록 관개용수의 공급과 담수지역에 대한 성분해석에 대한 기본적인 틀을 갖추고 있으며, 각종 물관리 체계의 조작이 가능한 우수한 모형이다. 그러나, 실제 우리나라 농업지역에 관개용수를 공급하고 담수상태의 논 지역을 충분히 모사하지 못하고 있다. 따라서, 이러한 결함을 제거하기 위해서는 SWAT 모형의 관개용수공급과 관련한 내부 모듈의 전면적인 수정$\cdot$보완과 교체작업이 필요하였다. 이러한 SWAT 모형의 문제점 해결을 위해 우리나라 는 농사의 특징인 담수를 고려하고, 관개량 및 관개일정을 제어하여 담수 논에 대한 수문성분이 전체 하천유출을 포함하는 수문순환 과정에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 평가할 수 있는 SWAT-AGRIMAN(SWAT-AGRIculture MANagement) 모형을 개발하였다. 개발된 SWAT-AGRIMAN 모형을 보청천 기대교 상류유역에 적용하였고, 적용결과를 SWAT 모형에 의한 모의결과와 비교$\cdot$평가하였다. 관개용수의 수원의 제기능 여부 및 담수상태의 유지여부와 논의 침투량 및 증발산량, 유역 출구에서의 유출량의 변화특성을 살펴보았으며, 실제 관측유량과의 유출율, 평균제곱근오차(RMSE), 모형효율계수(ME), 상관계수(CORRL), 결정계수($R^2$)의 비교$\cdot$분석을 통해 모형을 평가하였다.

  • 송전전압을 배전전압으로 변성하여 고객에게 배분하는 154kV 주변압기의 경우 과거 옥외철구형 변전소에서는 주로 동을 이용한 모선을 이용하였다. 최근 부지확보의 어려움 및 빈번한 민원 발생으로 지하 또는 옥내변전소로 바뀌어 가는 추세이고 과거 동모선 방식에서 케이블을 이용한 방식이 선호되고 있다. 모선방식의 경우는 구리나 알루미늄 바의 부식문제, 습기문제, 그리고 좁은 공간에서 사용시 절연 문제 등과 관련하여 지속적인 관리가 요구되고 있으나 케이블을 사용할 경우 이러한 문제들로부터 벗어날 수 있는 이점을 가지고 있다. 그러나 케이블을 사용하여 대전류를 송전할 경우 단일 케이블의 허용전류 용량에 따른 제한으로 복수의 케이블을 병렬 연결하여 사용하여야 한다. 그러나 케이블 동상 병렬사용시 케이블 포설 방식에 따라 동상간의 불평형전류 차가 심하게 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 송 배전 선로의 불평형전류 현황을 알아보고, 송전선로에 있어서 상배열 변경 및 배전선의 동상 케이블 배열방법을 변경함으로써 불평형전류를 최소화 하여 최적의 계통상태 유지를 위한 방안을 찾고자 한다.

  • 변화, 발전하는 IT기술과 디지털 기술, 그리고 네트워킹 기술 등에 따라 변전소의 운용 및 자동화 부문에 있어서도 적지 않은 변화가 일어나고 있다. 변전소의 건설 및 운용 면에 있어서도 예외가 아니며, 관련된 관심 사항으로는 시스템 구축 및 운용 시의 경제적인 측면, 시스템의 신뢰성, 그리고 유지보수 및 설비 관리의 효율성 등을 언급할 수 있다. 최근의 기술 추세는 Ethernet 통신 기반의 Network Device를 근간으로 하는 시스템으로의 변신을 주장하고 있으며, 세계 유수의 전력 설비 Maker에서도 이에 부응하기 위한 Network Device를 개발, 출시하고 있는 실정이다. 당소에서도 이와 같은 기술 추세에 부응하여 소위 미래형 변전소에서 요구되는 각종 ND의 개발을 추진하고 있으며, 그 첫번째 결과물로 154kV GIS의 운용 시에 요구되는 각종 제어 및 감시를 위한 Digital Control Unit(이하 DCU)을 개발하였다. 두 번째로 이와 같은 DCU와 연계하여 기존의 Remote Control 기능을 구비하고 상위시스템과 연결되며 변전실내에서 운용되는 Remote Control Unit(이하 RCU)을 개발하였다. 마지막으로 예방진단 시스템과 관련하여 주요 전력 설비의 상태 정보를 취합하는 Serial 통신 기반의 Static Type의 Diagnostic Analysis Unit(이하 DAU)을 하나의 Network Device로 개발함으로써 감시, 진단, 제어 등의 요구기능이 일체화 된 네트워크 기반의 미래형 변전소 자동화 시스템 구축에 한걸음 다가가는 기반을 마련하였다.

Design and Implementation of A effective Complex Fire Detector Module (효과적인 복합 소방 관제 모듈의 설계 및 구현)

  • Existing fire detector modules providing a simple fire alarm function have many drawbacks such as high installation, management and maintenance costs, and low scalability. In this paper, an add-on type complex fire detector module with high scalability and functions of examining the receiving units for fire sensors and itself has been developed, which enhances the reliability, stability, and economic feasibility of the existing fire detector modules. Information on when and where fire occurs, provided by the developed module, enables people to extinguish the fire immediately and minimize the damage of lives and property and also to systematically manage the fire-fighting related history and contribute to the prevention of fire.
