유한요소프로그램을 이용한 철도판형교의 동적거동 (Dynamic Behavior of Plate Girder Railway Bridges using the Finite Element Code)

  • Investigation on the dynamic behavior of railway bridges has not performed widely to date except high-speed railway bridges. In this study, 3-dimensional model is used for the finite element analysis of plate girder railway bridges. Train loads obtained through statistical approach of the measured true train loads are used. Numerical analysis is carried out about a 18m-span bridge. This result is compared with that of the experimental test of existing plate gilder railway bridge without ballast. The good agreement was obtained through the comparison. Judging from the analysis, resonant speed of diesel locomotive train is about 120km/h. However, the resonance for the other train is not found from the analysis.

철도판형교 무근콘크리트 교각의 전도 보강기법 (Strengthening method against Overturn of Plain Concrete Gravity Pier for Open-Steel-Plate-Girder Railway Bridges)

  • Open-Steel-Plate-Girder railway bridges, in general, have plain concrete gravity pier without piles at foundations. Such piers are vulnerable to be overturned against braking forces and ground shakings during an earthquake. Thus, this study suggests a strengthening method using earth anchors to improve the resistance of plain concrete gravity piers to the overturn of themselves. Also, a filed test was performed for the as-built and the strengthened pier and the test results were compared to assess the strengthening effect. The earth anchors increased the ultimated capacity for the pier's overturn. Finally, a FE analysis was conducted using nonlinear elements for soil to understand the distribution of the soil stresses for the as-built and the strengthened pier.

  • Line type rigid bearings for Open-Steel-Plate-Girder railway bridges have several problem in service, and they are unstable structurally. Thus, spherical bearings having advanced maintenance capability and device to resistance up-lift are developed and replace the existing ones. A experiment of maintenance for a new placed spherical bearings under real Open-Steel-Plate-Girder bridge is conducted and their good maintenance performance is proved. The dynamic behavior of the bridge is measured and analyzed for the two cases of the existing and replacing bearings. Therefore, the effect of the new spherical bearings on the railway bridge is assessed.

  • Railway plate girder bridges have characteristics that are not show dominant frequency in dynamic response frequencies like obtained vertical acceleration on the bridge during the train passing because the train loading relatively bigger than the bridge self-weight. This paper experimentally confirmed in FFT result has various frequencies due to inherent characteristic of railway train loading. To establish classification of dynamic frequency range in railway bridge acceleration during the train passing, vibration frequencies result from experimental test are analyzed concerning actuation vibration factors. Factors are train velocity, train type, mass ratio of vehicle/bridge, stiffness of bridge, bridge/track and vehicle/track. From the result, it is proposed that the frequencty classfication table with corresponding factors. Using the proposed table to develop rehabilitation technique of the plate girder bridge, to expect vibration reduction and comfort enhancement of the railway plate girder bridge.

기존선 철도차량을 이용한 철도교의 상호작용해석 (Vehicle-Bridge Interaction Analysis of Railway Bridges by Using Conventional Trains)

  • 본 논문에서는 다양한 차종의 영향을 반영할 수 있고, 차량과 교량의 연성 운동방정식을 구성하여 시간 단계별 직접해를 산정할 수 있는 수치해석기법을 제시하였다. 운동방정식의 해는 직접적분법인 Newmark ${\beta}$을 이용하여 해석 단계별로 구성된 유효강성행렬과 유효하중벡터를 바탕으로 정적평형방정식의 해를 구하는 원리와 동일하게 산정하였다. 또한 해석의 효율성을 증진시키기 위하여 유효강성행렬은 Skyline 법에 의해 재구성하였으며, Cholesky의 행렬 분해기법을 동시에 적용하여 직접적인 역행렬 계산에서 야기되는 오차의 발생을 최소화 하였다. 또한 기존선 철도차량인 새마을 PMC 열차와 디젤 견인 무궁화 열차에 대한 3차원 정밀수치해석 모델을 개발하였고, 각 차량은 차체와 전 후방 대차에 각각 6자유도씩 고려하여 총 18자유도로 수치모델을 작성하였다. 교량은 3차원 공간뼈대 요소를 이용하여 모델링하였고, 차륜과 레일 접촉면의 불규칙성은 미국의 FRA에서 규정하고 있는 연직방향 및 횡방향틀림에 대한 PSD 함수를 이용하여 궤도틀림을 수치적으로 구현하였다. 제시된 수치해석 기법은 12 m, 18 m형 판형교의 실측결과를 이용하여 타당성을 검증하였으며, 실측 및 수치해석결과는 교량의 1차 휨 고유진동수의 2.0배를 기준으로 Low pass filtering 하였다.

선로 이송 가설공법을 적용한 철도판형교 유도상화 (An experimental construction of railway steel plate girder strengthen adding ballast system by transport equipment)

  • It has been applied using cranes or insertion methods to install heavy structures to strengthen existing railway bridges. These methods are uneconomical because of two reasons. The first one is it is required to construct approach roads for heavy equipment and/or working yard. The second one is the electric lines shall be cutoff during construction. Both require additional construction cost and duration. In this study, new transport equipment was developed which can be applied to heavy structures up to 100 ton. Using this method, the heavy structure can be loaded into the new transport equipment at working yard and transported to the working site. This method can be applied, but not limited to railway bridge or roadbed rehabilitation. It was found that the precious construction can be achieved to install heavy structure using this method. The experimental construction to make non-ballast girder bridge composite with new pc deck slab using this method was carried out for Jewon bridge. The example bridge is in extreme condition because it locates above national road #38 within extreme transition curve and has 10 ‰ slope and skew. The experimental construction results were satisfactory both for safety and construction precision.

PC-Slab 합성 철도판형교 유도상화 시험부설에 따른 성능 비교평가 (Capacity evaluation of PC-slab composite actions for the railway steel plate girder according to an experimental construction)

  • There are more than 800 railway steel plate girder bridges which are in use and the total length is approximately 50 km. Among these, it shall be pointed out that non-ballast rail systems which lay on wood sleepers are the most critical members. To strengthen this type of structures, mainly two methods have been applied. The first one is the most typical method which is to replace the girders with slab girder system or steel composite girders and to add ballast. It is not uncommon that the construction cost of substructure is more than ten time higher than that of superstructures and even in this case, the structural uncertainty for the substructures is not diminished. To resolve above mentioned problems, new method was developed to rehabilitate railway steel girder bridge by adding PC-slab using transport equipment. Using this method, substructure strengthen is rarely required because the additional weight to the bridge superstructure is only up to 1.0t/m. Also it was possible to save the construction cost by reducing construction duration and by simplifying the construction process. Experimental construction was performed for Jewon bridge and measurements were performed before and after construction to verify the bridge capacity.

  • Field measurements were conducted to analysis lateral dynamic characteristics of existing steel plate girder railway bridges without ballast. Three bridges which have 9m, 12m, 18m span length in Kyoung-Bu Line were selected for test. According to the each bridge, dynamic lateral deflections and accelerations were measured. From the present study, it was observed that dynamic lateral amplification phenomena caused by a fluctuation of lateral force were occurred under the current running circumstances. Lateral deflections were occurred below than that specified in Korean railway bridge specification, but lateral accelerations is a match for vertical accelerations. From now on, it is in need a plan to reduce lateral accelerations for the conventional railway Line speed up.

  • After the development of practical technology for tilting system, tilting trains are operated on conventional lines of KORAIL. As the running speed of trains is increased, it is very important to investigate the dynamic characteristics of plate girder bridges with direct track fixation. Therefore, this paper reviews the dynamic interactions between tilting train and welded plate girder bridges designed by L-22, a standard load type of KORAIL. The span lengths of plate girder analyzed here are 6.6m, 9.7m, 12.9m, 16.0m, 19.2m, 22.3m, 25.4m and 31.1m. Using 2-D dynamic analysis, the critical velocity of tilting train, vertical deflection ratios of plate girder and maximum accelerations of car body are calculated. And the analytical results are compared with those of design criteria.

  • A real train load fluctuates along the track because of complicated movements(Bouncing, Rolling, Pitching and Yawing) and rail conditions. This research has for its object in development of a numerical train load model including fluctuation characteristics of lateral forces. It is based on Klingel movement theory of a wheelset on straight track. it presents a propriety of application by comparison between a 3D-Numerical analysis result using this train load model and a measured data. And this paper presents further study subject to improve a method about the train load modeling.
