  • A study about collision resolution is needed because huge file, video and multimedia information are transmitted to wireless LAN. CSMA/CR protocol guarantees fairness, but doesn't consider QoS. To practicalize CSMA/CR protocol in saturation fully-connected single hop network environments, this paper proposes method of collision compensation. previous CSMA/CR protocol chooses CR Slot only considering fairness, but this paper chooses front CR Slot for compensation of collision to station experiencing collisions. The station transmits jam signal and has channel priority of transmission. So transmitting efficiency and successful transmission probability rise. This proposed simple method can offer benefit to station experiencing collisions without additional hardware cost.

  • In content consumption environment with various live TV channels, VoD contents and web contents, recommendation service is now a necessity, not an option. Currently, various kinds of recommendation services are provided in the OTT service or the IPTV service, such as recommending popular contents or recommending related contents which similar to the content watched by the user. However, in the case of a content viewing environment through TV or IPTV which shares one TV and a TV set-top box, it is difficult to recommend proper content to a specific user because one or more usage histories are accumulated in one subscription information. To solve this problem, this paper interprets the concept of family as {user, time}, extends the existing recommendation relationship defined as {user, content} to {user, time, content} and proposes a method based on deep learning algorithm. Through the proposed method, we evaluate the recommendation performance qualitatively and quantitatively, and verify that our proposed model is improved in recommendation accuracy compared with the conventional method.

  • The switch from analog to digital broadcast television is extended rapidly. The DTV can offer multiple programming choices, interactive capabilities and so on. Moreover, with the spread of Internet, the information exchange between the communities is increasing, too. These facts lead to the new TV service environment which can offer customized TV programs to personal/community users. This paper proposes a 'Customized Digital TV System for Individuals/Communities based on Data Stream Mining' which can analyze user's pattern of TV watching behavior. Due to the characteristics of TV program data stream and EPG(electronic program guide), the data stream mining methods are employed in the proposed system. When a user is watching DTV, the proposed system can control the surrounding circumstances as using the user behavior profiles. Furthermore, the channel recommendation system on the smart phone environment is proposed to utilize the profiles widely.

A Study on the Influence of Customer Experience on the Intention to Stay in Store -The Moderating Role of Self-Construal Levels- (고객경험이 매장 내 체류의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 -자기해석수준의 조절효과를 중심으로-)

  • In recent years, consumers emphasize the various sensory experiences in the process of shopping rather than the practical value of shopping results. In order to satisfy consumers' diverse needs, retailers transform their offline stores into experiential spaces to encourage consumers to experience diverse and enjoyable experiences. This study divided the sub-factors of customer experience into hedonic experiences, functional experiences, and social interaction experiences, and investigated the effect of sub - factors of customer experience on consumers' enjoyment and intention to stay in off-line store. In addition, it is assumed that there will be a difference in the influence of three levels of customer experience on enjoyment according to the consumer's self-construal levels. As a result of this study, all of the hypotheses were supported except hypothesis 1 that the customer's hedonic experience has a positive effect on pleasure. In addition, as a result of verifying the moderating effect of self-construal levels, the self-construal level of consumers has no significant effect on the path of hedonic experiences on pleasure, but significant moderating effects of self-construal levels were identified in the pathways of functional and social interactive experiences on pleasure. The results of this study will be helpful in identifying and utilizing differentiated experience marketing strategies in the off-line stores that only offline channels can have in the fierce competition due to the diversification of distribution channels.

  • Focusing on the information sender, message, channel, and receiver, the existing information theory deals with the noise, information contents, and probability of choice, which involve in the process of information transmission. In the current digital environment, besides simply conveying information itself through media, the important issue is how to efficiently convey information. Therefore, we need to analyze the theory in different perspective, and to research the Information redundancy for the methodology of information design. The redundancy causes the receiver to have attraction to the information and to reduce its contents due to its supplement and repetition. So it can play a role of efficient communication method. The concept of redundancy is applied to the communication of art such as literature, architecture, painting, and design to accomplish efficient communication. In order to get persuasive information design for the receiver's perspective we need to make use of this concept. The redundancy can be applied with the technical aspect of multimedia and Interaction, which add supplemental expression, or sort of event for the receiver's experience and memory. In the process of constructing information it can be applied with the structure of gaming redundancy, entropy, the accumulating communication code using entertaining feature, and storytelling methodology. The noise and entropy could be used for the means of making redundancy, not the obstacle to information. The redundancy gives the receiver attraction on the information and makes them have strong will of interpreting it so that the purpose of conveying information will be accomplished efficiently.

  • The emergence of new communication media, digital, is something of a wonder, as well as a cultural tension. The industrial technologies that dramatically expand human abilities are being developed much faster than the speed of adaptation by humans. Without an exception, it creates new contents and form of the culture by shaking the very foundation of the notion about human beings. Korean broadcasting environment has stepped into the era of multi-media, multi-channel as the digital technology separated the media into network, cable, satellite and internet. In this digital culture, broadcasting, as a medium of information delivering and communication, has bigger influence than ever. Such changes in broadcasting environment turned the TV viewers into new consumers who participate and play the main role in active communication by choosing and using the media. This study is trying to systemize the question about the core identity of broadcasting through brand as the consumers stand in the center of broadcasting with the power to select channel. The story schema theory can be applied as a cognitive psychological tool to approach the active consumers in order to explain the cognitive processes that are related to information processing. It is a design with stories, which comes up as a case of a brand's story telling. The range of this study covers the current issue and educational programs in network TV during the period of May and August of year 2005. The cases of Korean and foreign programs were compared by the station each program is broadcasted. This study concludes that it is important to take the channel identity into the consideration in the brand strategy of each program. Especially, the leading programs of a station must not be treated as a separate program that has nothing to do with the station's identity. They must be treated to include the contents and form that builds the identity of the channel. Also, this study reconfirmed that building a brand of the anchor person can play as an important factor in the identity of the program's brand.

The Combined AMC-MIMO System with Optimal Turbo Coded V-BLAST Technique to Improve Throughput and SNR (전송률 향상 및 SNR 개선을 위한 최적의 터보 부호화된 V-BLAST 기법을 적용한 AMC-MIMO 결합시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose and observe the Adaptive Modulation system with optimal Turbo Coded V-BLAST(Vertical-Bell-lab Layered Space-Time) technique that is applied the extrinsic information from MAP Decoder in decoding Algorithm of V-BLAST: ordering and slicing. And comparing the proposed system with the Adaptive Modulation system using conventional Turbo Coded V-BLAST technique that is simply combined V-BLAST with Turbo Coding scheme, we observe how much throughput performance and SNR has been improved. In addition, we show that the proposed system using STD(Selection Transmit Diversity) scheme results in on improved result, By using simulation and comparing to conventional Turbo Coded V-BLAST technique with the Adaptive Modulation systems, the optimal Turbo Coded V-BLAST technique with the Adaptive Modulation systems has SNR gain over all SNR range and better throughput gain that is about 350Kbps in 11dB SNR range. Also, comparing with the conventional Turbo Coded V-BLAST technique using 2 transmit and 2 receive antennas, the proposed system with STD scheme show that the improvement of maximum throughput is about 1.77Mbps in the same SNR range and the SNR gain is about 5.88dB to satisfy 4Mbps throughput performance.

  • This paper describes an efficient design of a multi-standard Viterbi decoder that supports multiple constraint lengths and code rates. The Viterbi decode. is parameterized for the code rates 1/2, 1/3 and constraint lengths 7, 9, thus it has four operation modes. In order to achieve low hardware complexity and low power, an efficient architecture based on hardware sharing techniques is devised. Also, the optimization of ACCS (Accumulate-Subtract) circuit for the one-point trace-back algorithm reduces its area by about 35% compared to the full parallel ACCS circuit. The parameterized Viterbi decoder core has 79,818 gates and 25,600 bits memory, and the estimated throughput is about 105 Mbps at 70 MHz clock frequency.

  • In this paper, we propose a CMOS FM RX front-end structure with an automatic tunable input matching network and implement it using a 65nm CMOS technology. The proposed FM RX front-end is designed to change the resonance frequency of the input matching network at the low noise amplifier (LNA) according to the channel frequency selected by a phase-locked loop (PLL) for maintaining almost constant sensitivity level when an embedded antenna type with high frequency selectivity characteristic is used for FM receiver. The simulation results of implemented FM front-end show about 38dB of voltage gain, below 2.5dB of noise figure, and -15.5dBm of input referred intercept point (IIP3) respectively, while drawing only 3.5mA from 1.8V supply voltage including an LO buffer.

An Study of Operational Strategy for Special Libraries on Social Network Service (SNS) (전문도서관의 소셜네트워크서비스 운영방안 연구 - 해양과학도서관 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • This study proposes a customized SNS operational strategy for special libraries based on a case study on the Ocean Science Library (OSL) of South Korea. The study conducted an in-depth analysis on an organizational structure, manpower, contents, and promotion. The outcome of SNS operational strategy deducted from this study can be categorized into several items, including: (1) a selection of an appropriate SNS channel, which meets the objective of the operation; (2) a formal division of works for SNS operation; (3) a designation of full-time managers and an establishment of a task force team; (4) a specialization of contents according to specific subjects; (5) on/off-line promotions focused on events, which encourage participations; (6) an improvement of contents through regular log analyses; and (7) a promotion of library website access through SNS, and so on. This research also suggested the strategies for the development of SNS operation: strengthening of communication and cooperation among librarians; distribution of academic and research outcomes of the umbrella organization; enhancement of a role as a communication channel between librarians and users, and carry out a role as a 'social curator.'
