Investigation of wearing behaviors and consumer's needs for summer golf wear (하절용 골프웨어의 착용실태 및 소비자 요구도)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate consumer's needs for golf wear and to suggest a direction of product development and planning, based on the analysis of golfer's needs. The subjects used for the research were 150 male and female golfers who were in golf practice fields. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, ANOVA, t-test and Duncan test. In summary, the results of this study were as followers; Dimensions of consumer's needs for golf wear were extracted from factor analysis as following properties; fashion/design property, textile property, hygiene property, body-shaped property. The most important consumer's need for golf wear was "wearing comfort" and second one was "moisture absorbency" Respondents evaluated that wearing comfort, stretchability, tactile, size of golf wear were very important but price, pilling, shrinkage or color-fading after laundry of golf wear were relatively less important. The evaluation of consumer's needs for golf wear according to demographic information had significant difference. The female golfers were found to consider that fiber characteristics, easy-to-laundry, wrinkle resistance, stretchability, sewing quality were relatively more important, when compared with the male golfers. Also, There were significant differences on the evaluation of consumer's needs for golf wear on fiber characteristics, stretchability, brand name between age groups.

A study on the Wearing Pattern and Design Preference of Shoes for Men (직장남성들의 구두착용실태와 디자인 선호도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the wearing pattern and design preference of shoes for men, and to develop the possibility and strategy of the shoes market for the shoes marketers and manufacturers. In this study, the data obtained from 285 respondents were analyzed by the descriptive statistics. The results from the data were as follows : The most frequent brand among the 45 shoes brand by 285 respondents described in free style was 'Esquire'. The 268 respondents possessed two shoes or more, the most frequent shoes' color was black, and the most preferred brand was 'Kumkang'. The 195 respondents indicated the discomfort of ready-made shoes, The 198 respondents discarded their shoes 'on the reason of worn-out', the 98 respondents indicated that the most important thing in the purchasing point was 'the comfort of shoes' The respondents preferred shoes with 'slip-on type', 'cow leather', 'semi-rounded toe', 'no-metal ornaments', 'moccasin tip', 'leather-sole', and '3cm heel'. Finally, this study proposed that the best strategy for shoes marketers and manufacturers was to upgrade the comfort of shoes by design(line) and the material with functional textures.

A Study on the Use of Information Sources and the New Generation Women's Jeans Wearing Attitude (신세대 여성의 진바지 착용태도와 정보원 활용에 관한 연구)

  • This dissertation was aimed to analyze correlation between jeans wearing attitude and the use of information sources which influnece the new generation consumers' marketing strategies of jeans industry. Subjects were 443 new generation women living in Seoul. Data were obtained by self administered qestionaire and analyzed by SPSS package. The main findings of this research are as follows : 1. A result of factor-analysis of the new generation consumers' jeans wearing attitudes variables were typed 5 factors of practicality pursuit, fashion pursuit, sexual attraction pursuit, individuality pursuit and famous brand pursuit. 2. A result of factor-analysis of the use of information sources variables were classified 4 factors of marketer-dominted sources, neutral sources, consumer.dominated sources and personal sources. 3. In anlysis between jeans wearing attitudes and demographic characteristics, fashion pursuit, individuality pursuit and sexual attraction pursuit showed significant difference partially 4. In analysis between the use of information sources and demographic characteristics, marketer-dominated, neutral and personal sources showed significant difference partially. 5. In correlation and regression between jeans wearing attitude and the use of information sources, there were high relations partially and fashion pursuit variable of jeans wearing attitude was the most influential.

The Attitudes toward Underwear, and the Wearing & Purchase Practice of Underwear Items: Focused on Middle School Girls and Their Mothers in Chongju (속옷에 대한 착용태도 및 구매실태: 청주시내 여중생과 어머니를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study were to compare the wearing and purchase practice of underwear items, and the attitudes toward underwear in middle school girls with those of their mothers in Chongju city. The questionnaires were to measure the demographic information, wearing and purchase practice of underwear items, and attitudes toward underwear. As statistical analysis, frequencies, $X^2-test$, and t-test were used. The results were as follows: 1. There were partially significant difference beween middle school girls and thier mothers of wearing and purchase practice of underwear. 2. The most important factor was size when they purchase their underwear. As the next important factor, middle school girls considered design, while their mother considered functional properties. 3. Middle school girls were more interested in the design aspect or brand name of underwear and less concerned about functional or practical aspects than their mothers in the attitudes toward underwear.

High School Boys′ Satisfaction with a Korean Traditional Style Uniform and Image Evaluation (우리옷 교복 착용 남자고등학생의 교복만족도와 이미지 평가)

  • The purpose of this paper was to understand the relationship of high school boy's satisfaction with a Korean traditional style school uniform and their attitudes and image evaluation to male regarding wearing school uniforms. A survey was administered to 128 male high school students. To find our factors of their attitudes and their images regarding wearing school uniforms, Varimax rotated factor analysis was adopted. The results showed that each few factors were identified in their wearing attitudes and images. Multiple regression analysis was to investigate the relationship between these factors and the satisfaction with their school uniform. As a result of this, if their satisfaction becomes greater, they tend to recognize the distinctive design of their school uniform and wear their school uniform on various occasions. In addition, the more they become satisfied with their school uniform, the more the students are comfortable with the uniform and recognize it as a symbol of status as well. The relationship between the factors of their wearing attitudes and satisfaction with their school uniform shows that of their satisfaction becomes greater, they recognize the school uniform as good looking, comfortable and as an intelligent image. The analysis of their attitudes and images indicates that the factor of a good looking images is correlated with all factors of their attitudes. Therefore the attitudes of high school boys toward wearing a school uniform have been changed and revealed to be different from previous research results.

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of senior simulation on geriatric unit nurses' attitude and job satisfaction toward the elderly with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were the 30 nurses who are working in geriatric units in a general hospital in Daegu, Korea and who were well informed about the purpose of this study and allowed to join the study. The data were collected from August 23 to September 6, 2006. The experimental procedure was to do activities for daily living for 45 minutes wearing senior simulation suit. Self administered questionnaires were used to ask the nurses' attitude toward the elderly and job satisfaction in their work before, right after, and one week after senior simulation. According to the results of this study, there were significant changes in the geriatric nurses' attitude toward the elderly and job satisfaction after aging simulation implying that senior simulation is an effective intervention to facilitate nurses to do quality care for the elderly with sympathetic understanding and attitude. Senior simulation needs to be applied to geriatric education for the nursing students and health care providers who are involved in care for the elderly.

  • School uniforms are mass produced by large companies and prominent fashion designers. However many high school students modify their uniform or use fashion accessaries to pursue their individualities and their unique style. The objectives of this research were to identify uniform modification and fashion accessory wearing according to the attitudes toward uniform of high school students. The results were as follows; 1. Factors of the attitudes toward school uniform were style and brand, fashion, role intimation, individuality, and neatness. High school students were classified as the uniform indifference group, the pro-uniform group, and the centrist-uniform group according to their attitudes toward uniform. 2. Many students in academic or boys' high schools were classified into the centrist-uniform stoup, and many in art & physical educational or coeducational high schools were classified into the pro-uniform group. The pro-uniform group modified uniform more and stated that the regulation on the fashion accessory wearing was very strict. The uniform indifference group modified uniform less than other groups and complained less about regulation of fashion accessary wearing. 3. Students in art & physical educational high schools showed more positive tendency toward uniform attitudes, uniform modification, and fashion accessary regulation compliances.

Teenager's Attitudes toward Clothing & School Uniform (청소년의 의복태도와 교복착용에 대한 태도)

  • Teenagers are fast in growth and very sensitive. They are more interested in appearance and clothing and they use it as a method of expressing themselves. Thus they show different attitudes toward clothing. This study is to survey teenagers' attitudes toward clothing, especially school uniform and to understand their psychological characteristics about clothing. The purpose of this study is to provide useful data in designing teenagers' school uniform which can serve to fulfill their clothing desire and beautiful school life. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. As of paradigm in clothing, they value individuality, economical efficiency, practicality, fashion, and conformity of clothes in the order of importance. They considered individuality value the most important. Students' preference of school uniform is not positive over all. About 60% of students support wearing uniform, and 50% like wearing uniform on the way to school. The reasons for wearing school uniform are psychological stability and economical efficiency. They think school uniform is well fitted for the student position and don't have to care about clothing if they wear school uniform. 63% of them prefer wearing famous brand but they think the price is too high. Comparing with male student, female students place more value on latest fashion and are more likely to purchase brand object than male students do. Female students have more experience in modification of school uniform than male students do. Based on the result of this study, we need to understand the students' attitudes toward school uniform and to accept demand of teenagers' idea in production of school uniform.

Perceptions and Attitudes toward Use of Loupes among Dental Hygienists (치과위생사의 루페 사용에 대한 인식 및 태도)

  • The aim of this study was to examine the perceptions and attitudes of dental hygienists on the use of dental loupes. A questionnaire survey was conducted to 180 dental hygienists working at dental institutions and public health centers. 4.6% of all respondents answered that they use dental loupes currently, and 38.9% answered that they need to introduce dental loupes in the dental clinic. About half indicated that loupes were a benefit to improved vision(53%) and Improved clarity(44%). The most commonly reported disadvantages to loupes wear were limited depth of vision(39%) and overall dependency. It was confirmed that most dental hygienists did not use loupes, there was little interest in loupes. More research is needed on the effects of loupes in dental practice.

A study on differences in body comparison, body satisfaction, and appearance management behaviors according to socialcultural attitudes toward appearance among adolescents in Gwangju and Jeonnam province- by sex and age (광주·전남지역 청소년의 외모에 대한 사회문화적 태도에 따른 신체비교, 신체만족과 외모관리행동 연구 - 성별과 연령을 중심으로 -)

  • This study examined whether any differences were found in body comparison, body satisfaction, and appearance management behaviors according to socialcultural attitudes toward appearance among male and female adolescents in Gwangju and Jeolla province. It was conducted by a self-report survey of 598 male and female students in eigth and eleventh grades in Gwangju and Jeonnam province, South Korea. The collected survey data were analyzed by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, Factor analysis, ${\chi}^2$ test, K-means cluster analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's grouping using SPSS/PC WIN 19.0 statical program. The results were as the following: Adolescents perceived and internalized more highly than the common level the socialcultural value toward appearance, especially for female, and by age, juniors in high school than in middle school. Socialcultural attitudes toward appearance could be classified into four categories: 'Accepted type', 'internal type', 'aware type', and 'unaccepted type'. Students who were classified as 'accepted type', and 'internal type' showed lower level of body satisfaction and compared their bodies more often with others. They also actively received appearance management behaviors. Therefore, they showed positive attitude toward cosmetic surgery and functional garments. They also worked hard to reduce their weights just to show off to others. In conclusion, it is necessary for education programs to protect self-esteem of adolescents from the socialcultural distortion to appearance.
