DVB-RCS NG 기반 고효율 저전력 위성리턴링크 전송기술

  • 본 논문에서는 2009년 5월부터 유럽 DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting)를 중심으로 본격적으로 진행되고 있는 차세대 VSAT(Very Small Aperture Terminal) 시스템 표준기술인 DVB-RCS (Return Channel via Satellite) NG(Next Generation) 표준의 시스템 및 서비스 개요와 표준화 ad-hoc 기술 그룹회의에서 제안된 기술들에 대해서 소개하고자 한다. DVB-RCS NG 표준은 2008년 5월부터 DVB-RCS CM (Commercial Module)과 시스템 interoperability 테스트 관할 협의체인 유럽의 Satlabs를 중심으로 새로운 규격 작업을 위한 상업적 요구사항 선정 및 구체적인 서비스/시스템 모델을 수립하였다. DVB-TM (Technical Module)과 CM을 거쳐 최종적으로 SB(Steering Board)에서 2008년 10월에 승인을 받고 RCS ad-hoc 그룹은 study mission을 수행하게 되었다. 2008년 11월부터 DVB-RCS NG 규격을 위한 call for technology 작업, 제안된 기술에 대한 평가 방법, 이를 평가하기 위한 system그룹 및 study 그룹이 결성되어 2009년 1월에 call for technology가 공지되고 2009년 5월 4일까지 20개 기관으로부터 19개의 기고서가 제출되었다. 본 고에서는2009년 7월 회의까지 검토된 후보기술에 대한 소개와 향후, RCS NG 표준에서 유망한 기술에 대하여 다루고자한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 유럽 EU를 중심으로 활발하게 진행되고 있는 이동형 광대역 차세대위성방송/통신 융합기술에 대한 표준화 동향에 대해 언급한다. 특히, 최근 위성기반 유럽 DVB를 중심으로 이동형 서비스를 추구하고자 기술개정의 필요성을 보여준 DVB-S2M(Mobility)와 현재 표준화 진행중에 있는 Mobile DVB-RCS 표준을 소개하고 이와 관련된 주요 핵심 기술 및 향후 전망을 중심으로 논의하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the performance of soft decision e-BCH codes which presented in DVB-RCS NG system. However, the performance of soft-decision decoding for e-BCH is not much improved as to increase the iterations. Therefore this paper proposed rate-compatible TPC which makes various coding rates by zero padding the row and/or column to adapt next generation (NG) DVB-RCS system. And so we proposed new model of extended BCH code and researches how to develop performance of extended BCH code.

  • In this paper, we proposed advanced T-DMB system which is based on Eureka-147 using UEP coding methods and hiererchical modulation for providing additional services while maintaining BER performance. We simulated the proposed advanced T-DMB system using unequal l6QAM modulation scheme combined with various bit split methods and coding methods such as double binary turbo code of DVB-RCS standard and LDPC code of DVB-S2 standard. In the simulation results, double binary turbo code and LDPC code of proposed advanced T-DMB system have coding gain of 2dB and 3.5dB compared to conventional T-DMB system respectively.

  • T-DMB(Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) system, is based on the Eureka-147 standard, provides various multimedia data services. However T-DMB system needs upgrades for more various services and better services. Therefore, we proposed advanced T-DMB system using unequal error protection system and hierarchical modulation in this paper while maintaing backward compatibility. And we simulated various bit split methods and double binary turbo code of DVB-RCS standard as method of LP data stream for additional service of advanced T-DMB. As the simulation results, double binary turbo code of proposed advanced T-DMB system have each coding gain of over 2 dB compared to conventional T-DMB.

  • In this paper, we analyze the most suitable RA method among PAMA, DAMA, and RA classified by the multiple access method of satellite communication in the rapidly changing traffic environment according to the emergency and tactical situation. It suggests an alternative to improve the limit of output degradation. Based on the CRDSA protocol selected as the standard of DVB-RCS2 among the current satellite communication methods, CRDSA2R (Contention) maintains an optimal RA channel environment by checking the limitations in an environment where packet volume is rapidly increasing and observing channel load and channel conditions. We propose a Resolution Diversity Slotted ALOHA with Adaptive Random Access.

  • This paper is related with optimum burst structure design for high efficient TDMA satellite return link transmission. In general, some typical burst structure for data transmission is composed of a pair of preamble and traffic data in the DVB-RCS (Digital Video Broadcasting. Return Channel via Satellite) and IPOS (IP over Satellite) standard. This structure has some difficulties to increase spectral efficiency that it requires a large of preamble length, high SNR environment, or receiver complexity. To cope with them, burst structure with distributed pilot symbol can be used to alleviate the residual frequency offset effect by calculating accurate frequency offset than conventional one. In particular, we investigate some relevant to proposed distributed pilot structure, previously and analyze their strong points/drawbacks in terms of synchronization to draw the most appropriate one.

A Study on layered Space Time Trellis codes for MIMO system based on Iterative Decoding Algorithm (MIMO 시스템에서 반복 복호 알고리즘 기반의 계층적 시공간 부호화 방식 연구)

  • The next-generation wireless communication requires fast transmission speeds with various services and high reliability. In order to satisfy these needs we study MIMO system used layered space time coded system (LST) combining space time trellis codes (STTC) with turbo codes. In LST, two codes that are inner and outer codes are concatenated in the serial fashion. The inner codes are turbo Pi codes suggested in DVB-RCS NG system, and outer codes are STTC codes proposed by Blum. The interleaver technique is used to efficiently combine two codes. And we proposed and simulated that a full iteration method between turbo decoder and BCJR decoder to improve the performance instead of only processing inner-iteration turbo decoder. The simulation results of proposed effective layered method show improving BER performance about 1.3~1.5dB than conventional one.
