An Analysis of the Radio Interference in Wireless Vehicular Networks based on IEEE802.11b(WLAN) (IEEE802.11b(WLAN)기반의 차량 무선통신환경에서 전파간섭분석)

  • Recently, there has been a fast paradigm shift in the automotive market from the traditional machine-oriented technology into the technology for vehicle informatics and electronics. In particular, telematics market is accelerating the development of technologies for vehicle informatics through the close cooperation between the vehicle makers and mobile communication companies. However, there may be the degradation of the quality of service by the interference since the telematics uses the wireless communication infrastructure for the base station-to-vehicle communication and the vehicle-to-vehicle communication. This paper presents an analysis device to easily analyze the interference by the wireless communication in the vehicle wireless network environment. Using the analysis results by the presented device, this paper shows that the link quality can be improved through the simulation and the experiment in real environment both.

Effective Emergency-Warning Message Transmission in the Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication Environment (차량 간 통신 환경에서 효과적인 위험 경고 메시지 전송 방안)

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm to improve collision avoidance in Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) networks based on IEEE 802.11p. Since IEEE 802.11p adopts CSMA/CA as a multiple access scheme and an emergency warning message (EWM) is delivered to behind vehicles in a multi-hop manner, due to transmission collision, the more vehicles in the vehicle chain results in a longer delay. The longer delay increases the possibility of a rear-end collision. In order to ensure message reception with low latency, we consider implicit acknowledgement of a broadcasted EWM message and propose an algorithm to reduce redundant message transactions, called Two-Way Implicit Acknowledgement (TWIA). By simulations, we show that our proposed algorithm can reduce the latency until the last car receives the message by 9% and the success rate every car receives the message within 0.7sec by 12% at 100 fixed-number-of-car environment.

  • Driver's view has blind spot of automobile surroundings due to physical components of automobile architecture. Obstacles on blind spot are the cause of car destruction and car accidents. Cars which produced in recent have obstacle detection sensors and rear view cameras which provide information of obstacles on the blind sopt, and have also AVM(Around View Monitoring) which provides automobile surroundings for driver's safe driving. During a low-speed travel while parking or moving in a narrow street, a driver get help for safe driving by taking information of automobile surroundings using the above-mentioned devices. In this paper, we present a design and implementation of a 4-sided monitoring (4SM) system, which helps a driver see an integrated view of a vehicle's perimeter at a glance, using a car PC connected to four cameras installed on the front, rear, left, and right sides.

  • In the present age, a vehicle works important part in our lives and economical domain that transport people, freights, and everything. And both of its number and value are increasing more and more. But user's convenience, control system could not be archived improvement than technological success. In this paper, we suggest some kinds of administrative agendas; simplifying executive processes, designing vehicle information system using by RFID which includes Ubiquitous skill and optical communication network. Especially, this paper suggests public vehicle control model which ran simplify every executive processes of vehicle's life in the newest method. There are many kinds of RFID applicative products about transportation. And a dual invest should be interrupted for economical purpose. So we also proposes some way for problems of these types.

  • Personal Rapid Transit(PRT), which is one of the next generation convergence transport technology, PRT system requires operation technology for controlling diverse vehicles and dealing with a variety of abnormal driving situations on a large scale trackway structures in expected operational area more efficiently and reliably. Before developing PRT control technology, it is essential that multiple testing procedures stepwise with building small scale test-tracks and develop real unmanned-vehicles. However, it is expected that the experiments demand huge amount of time and physical cost. Thus, simulation in virtual environment is efficient to develop wireless based control technology for multiple PRT vehicles prior to building real-test environment. In this paper, we propose a VR-based integrated simulator which physics engine is applied so that it enables simulation of front-wheel-steering PRT system rather than simple rail track system. The proposed simulator is also developed that it can reflect geographical features, infrastructures and network topology of expected driving region.

  • 최근 네비게이션, GPS 등과 같은 운전 보조를 위한 장치 및 DVD 플레이어 등과 같은 운전자의 인포테인먼트 요구를 위한 장치 등 다양한 차량용 ECU들이 등장하고 있다. 차량용 네트워크를 통해 다양한 ECU들을 연결하여 상호 협력을 통해 ECU 고유 기능뿐만 아니라 추가의 기능을 수행할 수 있는 다양한 기술도 활발히 연구되고 있다. 차량용 네트워크를 통해 다양한 ECU들이 연결되어 상호 동작하기 위해서는 다양한 ECU 및 네트워크를 관리하는 서버 역할을 할 수 있는 고성능의 Car PC 의 장착이 필수적이다. 기존 AVM 시스템은 차량 주변 상황을 실시간으로 제공하기 위해 임베디드 시스템 또는 SOC의 형태로 개발되었다. 그러나, Car PC가 차량에 장착되면 AVM 시스템을 추가의 비용이 없는 소프트웨어로 구현할 수 있다. 이를 위해서는 차량 주변 영상을 실시간으로 제공할 수 있도록 카메라 보정 같은 영상 처리 모듈의 성능이 실시간 영상을 제공할 수 있는 성능을 갖추어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 차량의 전 후방 및 좌 우측에 장착된 4대의 카메라로부터 입력된 차량 주변 상황을 한눈에 보여주는 AVM 시스템을 위해 카메라 보정 및 통합 처리를 위한 모듈을 스레드(thread)를 이용하여 설계하고 구현한다. 또한, 제안하는 영상 처리 모듈의 성능과 스레드를 사용하지 않는 방식의 영상 처리 모듈의 성능을 비교 분석함으로써 제안하는 영상 처리 모듈을 이용하여 추가의 비용이 없는 소프트웨어 AVM 시스템의 구현 가능성을 검증한다.

Community Driving using Distance Control between Vehicles (차량 간 거리 제어를 이용한 군집 주행)

  • In this paper, we implemented community driving system for auto-vehicles as a preceding research of drone's community flight. We used ultrasonic sensors in order to measure the distance between vehicles, and designed each vehicles to maintain specific distance to each other, by making the following vehicle to stop moving when the distance is closed to less than 20cm, to start moving when the distance increases to more than 30cm. We have also designed vehicle to accelerate until the distance is closed to 30cm when they are apart for more than 40cm due to contingencies during driving.

  • Inter-vehicular communication suffers from a variety of the problem on the road, resulting in large delay in propagating emergency warning. An energy depletion as well as a transmission delay may induced by traffic accident. A transmission delay are caused by direct contention from nodes that can hear each other or indirect contention from nodes that can not hear each other, but simultaneously transmit to the same destination. A variety of works have been researched to solve the transmission delay and energy consumption problem in intelligent cars transportation systems. We consider a vehicle-to-vehicle communication protocol for disseminating an emergency information that include end-to-end and energy efficient transmission. In this paper, we propose A vehicle-to-vehicle communication protocol scheme for dissemination emergency information in intelligent cars communication based on IEEE 802.15.3 wireless personal area networks. Results from a simulation study reveal that our scheme can achieves low latency in delivering emergency warnings, and efficiency in consuming energy in stressful road scenarios.

  • The increase in applying IT to vehicles has given birth to smart cars or connected cars. As smarts cars become connected with external network systems, threats to communication security are on the rise. With simulation test results supporting such threats to Convergence security in vehicular communication, concerns are raised over relevant vulnerabilities, while an increasing number of studies on secure vehicular communication are published. Hacking attacks against vehicles are more dangerous than other types of hacking attempts because such attacks may threaten drivers' lives and cause social instability. This paper designed a Convergence security protocol for inter-vehicle and intra-vehicle communication using a hash function, nonce, public keys, time stamps and passwords. The proposed protocol was tested with a formal verification tool, Casper/FDR, and found secure and safe against external attacks.

  • Smart surveillance, is the use of automatic video analysis technologies in video surveillance applications. We present a robust object tracking method using pan-tilt-zoom camera for intelligent surveillance System, As the result of the experiment using 78 vehicle, the success rate of the tracking for moving object & non-moving object werw 97.4% and 91%. and 84.6%. the success rate o PTZ control for license plate image.
