Quantitative Fire Risk Assessment and Counter Plans Based on FDS and GIS for National Road Bridges (FDS와 GIS를 이용한 교량 화재 위험도의 정량적 평가 및 적용방안)

  • In recent years, unexpected bridge fire accidents have increased because of augmenting the number of traffic volumes and hazardous materials by the increment in traffics and distribution business. Furthermore, in accordance with the effort of using the under space of bridges, the ratio of occupied by combustible materials like oil tanker or lorry has been increased. As a result, the occurrence of bridge fire has been growing drastically. In order to mitigate the accident of bridge fire, risk assessment of bridge fire has been studied, however, practical risk models considering safety from users' viewpoints were scarce. This study represented quantitative risk assessment model applicable to national road bridges in Korea. The primary factors with significant impacts on bridge fire accidents was chosen such as clearance height, materials of bridges, arrival time of fire truck and fire intensity. The selected factors were used for Fire Dynamics Simulation (FDS) and the peak temperature calculated by FDS in accordance with the fire duration and fire intensity. The risk assessment model in bridge fire reflected the FDS analysis results, the fire damage criteria, and the grade of fire truck arrival time was established. Response plans for bridge fire accidents according to the risk assessment output has been discussed. Lastly, distances between bridges and fire stations were calculated by GIS network analysis. Based on the suggested assessment model and methodology, sample bridges were selected and graded for the risk assessment.

A Numerical Study for the Operation of Partial Smoke Extraction System in Tunnel Fire (터널화재시 부분배연설비의 운영방안을 위한 수치해석적 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the smoke extraction efficiency using by the partial extraction system with CFD simulation for case of tunnel fire. The Comparison of CFD results with the preceding scaled model test results, it is equal to the smoke extraction efficiency and smoke stratification in tunnel by the partial smoke extraction system (distributed damper). It shows that the smoke extraction efficiency is increased about 7% by the distributed damper which is opened near fire, compare with the distributed damper which is all opened. The case of the fire occurs on a traffic jam in a tunnel, it is proposed that the operating method of partial smoke extraction system for the escaping passengers.

  • 본 연구에서는 차량 연료탱크에 충격탄 관통 시 화재발생 여부를 분석하기 위한 연구의 전단계로서, 충격탄 속도 변화에 따른 연료탱크 내부의 열전달특성을 분석하기 위해 전산유체역학기법을 도입하여 수치해석을 수행한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 잔류속도 120m/s의 경우, 관통부를 지난 위치에서 최대온도는 약 324.8K를 나타내고 잔류속도 360m/s의 경우, 충격탄이 관통부로 유입되면서 급격하게 증가되어 최고온도 약 382.1K를 나타낸다. 이러한 결과로 미루어 최고 온도가 가솔린 연료의 착화온도보다 높아 화재의 위험성이 있지만 순간적인 온도변화가 심하고 착화시간이 만족되지 않을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 국내의 경우 소방시설을 설치하여야 할 소방대상물과 그 설치 및 유지에 관한 기준은 소방법에서 정하고 있으며, 그 내용은 표 1과 같다. 지하철과 같은 궤도차량용 터널인 경우 소방법 상의 시설물에 대한 규정을 두고 있지 않다. 따라서 화재가 발생할 경우 피난, 구조 및 소화활동 등이 적절히 고려되지 않은 상태에서 팬의 제원과 성능이 결정되고 있다. 적절한 환기설비를 갖추지 않는 경우에 화재발생시 대형 인명사고가 발생할 가능성이 높다.

  • 최근에 각종 SOC사업이 본격화되면서 고속도로망 및 도시교통망 확충이 가속화되어 장대 터널이 급증하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 차량의 급속한 증가로 차량배기가스에 의한 터널내부 환경의 악화가 문제시되고 있다. 특히 도로터널은 반밀폐 공간으로 터널내에서의 사고는 인명피해와 막대한 재산 피해로 이어질 수 있으므로 안전운전을 위한 제반설비 및 대책이 필요하며 안전운행을 위한 가시거리 확보 및 쾌적한 환경에 대한 요구가 대두되고 있다. 따라서 터널에서 이와 같은 요구를 만족하기 위해서 기계환기설비가 투입되고 있으며 이에 대한 최적화 설계에 대한 필요성이 높아지고 있다.(중략)

A Study on the flame behaviors of light railway vehicle (경량전철 차량화재의 화염거동에 대한 연구)

  • This paper is described for the flame behaviors in light railway cabin by numerical simulation code, which can be interpreted the design parameters in terms of suppression the fire propagation and excavation the passengers safely. The results shows that the flame intensity(fire temperature, smoke density) depends on the firing points in cabin and propagates rapidly whole cabin space rather than modern subway cabin due to smaller inner space. The data will be used to how can be get the safety case, which is described on the operating principles for all facilities and logistics against to the light railway firing accidents.
