Recently, the traditional paradigm in railroad technology is changing as more efficient and cost-effective electric vehicle (EV) technologies have emerged. The original concept of PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) proposed in the past has come to be regarded as unrealistic, but its feasibility is improving through the utilization of an EV platform. In particular, battery-powered vehicles pose difficult technical challenges in attempts to achieve reliable and efficient operation. However, based on the inductive power transfer (IPT) technology, the fast charging of supercapacitors with high energy density can contribute to overcoming this technical challenge and promote the transition to electric-powered ground transportation by improving the appearance of cities. This study discusses the development process of a power supply system for PRT, including concept design, numerical analysis, and device manufacturing, along with performance predictions and evaluations. In terms of results, the system was found to meet the performance requirements for power supply modules on a test-bed.
In recent years, tram has been the focus of a new mode of public transportation that can solve traffic jams and decrease public transit usage and environmental problem. This research is in the works to develop a tram signal controller and signal control strategies, and aim to resolve the problem of what could happen if a tram system was installed in general road. We developed the hierarchical signal control strategies to obtain a minimum tram bandwidth and to minimize vehicle delay, in order to perform a priority control to include passive and active signal priority control strategies. The strategies was produced for S/W and H/W, it is based in standard traffic signal controller. We conducted a micro simulation test to evaluate the hierarchical signal control strategies, which showed that the developed optimization model is effective to prevent a tram's stop in intersection, to reduce a tram's travel time and vehicle's delay.

Recently, there are many real life applications that uses drones. There are various applications such as the aerial shot with the drones for the broadcasting service or drone racing competition and so on. Specifically, they patrol for the traffic enforcement on a highway. The police department use the 'Spot Mobility' method which float the drones for 30 minute period. However, this method is inefficient for the wide area with small numbers of enforcement. Therefore, a wireless network system consists of drones to patrol on the highway systematically is required. In this paper, the most efficient routing protocol will be selected for the MANET drone network by applying various routing protocols. To accomplish this, the drone patrol network system with routing protocols are designed and simulated in OPNET simulator.

Today, According to it widely used that third generation mobile networks service, WCDMA module development technology and its utilization is expanding increasingly and thus to IT Convergence industries is a trend that a lot of appears. This paper, OBD-II communications to bring a vehicle information use and data to an external server transfer and it was developed that vehicle status monitoring from other external devices can be system. From the various sensors inside a vehicle using the OBD-II connector read the information, after converting the user easier to see, WCDMA module using the car status monitoring system to transfer to an external data server was implemented. Developed to test the performance of the system using virtual's state vehicle simulator, which occurs in the real car that will generate the data. It was sent to the OBD-II connector to be occurred data, vehicle status monitoring system was confirmed that Data was received without error. In addition, When this data using WCDMA transmit data to an external server the same data was confirmed that it was received without error. In the future, this technology using the OBD-II vehicle IT convergence technology can be used in a wide range.
Conditional autonomous vehicles should hand over control to the driver according on driving situations. However, if the driver is immersed in a non-driving task, the driver may not be able to make suitable decisions. Previous studies have confirmed that the cues enhance take-over performance with a directional information on driving. However, studies on the effect of take-over cues on the driver's brain activities are rigorously investigated yet. Therefore, this study we evaluates the driver's brain activity according to the take-over cue. A total of 25 participants evaluated the take-over performance using a driving simulator. Brain activity was evaluated by functional near-infrared spectroscopy, which measures brain activity through changes in oxidized hemoglobin concentration in the blood. It evaluates the activation of the prefrontal cortex (PFC) in the brain region. As a result, it was confirmed that the driver's PFC was activated in the presence of the cue so that the driver could stably control the vehicle. Since this study results confirmed that the effect of the cue on the driver's brain activity, and it is expected to contribute to the study of take-over performance on biomakers in conditional autonomous driving in future.

With the growing traffic density and increasing comfort requirements, the automation of the drive train will gain importance in vehicles. The automatic clutch actuation relieves the drivers especially in urban driving and stop-and-go traffic conditions. This paper describes the dynamic modeling of a clutch actuator and clutch spring. The dynamic model of the clutch system is developed using MATLAB/Simulink, and evaluated by experimental data using a test rig. This performance simulator is useful to develop the clutch-by-wire (CBW) system for an automated manual transmission (AMT). The electro-mechanical type CBW system is also implemented as an automatic clutch for AMT. The prototype of CBW system is designed and implemented systematically, which is composed of an electric motor, worm gear and slider-crank mechanism. The test rig is developed to perform the basic function test of the automatic clutch, and the developed prototype is validated by the experimental data on the test rig.

In these days, a vehicle simulator is developed by using a VR(Virtual Reality) system. A VR system must provide a vehicle simulator with a natural interaction, a sufficient immersion and realistic images. To achieve this, it is important to provide a fast and uniform rendering performance regardless of the complexity of virtual worlds or the level of simulation. In this paper, modeling methods which offer an improved rendering performance for complex VR applications as 3D road model have been implemented and verified. The key idea of the methods is to reduce a load of VR system by means of LOD(Level of Detail), alpha blending texture mapping, texture mip-mapping and bilboard. Hence, in 3D road model where a simulation is complex or a scene is very large, the methods can provide uniform and acceptable frame rates. The VR system which is constructed with the methods has been experimented under the various application environments. It is confirmed that the proposed methods are effective and adequate to the VR system which associates with a vehicle simulator.

The improvement of the performance in laser radar simulation requires fast retrievals of the spatial locations and attributes of objects in response to the laser signals of the simulators. Since the data used in simulation are complex 3D objects such as terrain, buildings and vehicles, and are of large sizes, commonly used 3D modeling tools are not suitable for this use. We proposed a method to store such 3D objects in a database, perform required queries and integrate with visualization tools. We showed the processes for the data modeling based on 3D topological concepts and then building a spatial DBMS. Also, we illustrated the process for accessing and visualizing the stored data using VRML and performed test computations using some laser signal data. With further enhancement on data modeling and LOD problems in visualization, the proposed method will be practically applied in different situations including laser simulation.

This paper describes a lateral guidance system of an autonomous vehicle, using a neural network model of magneto-resistive sensor and magnetic fields. The model equation was compared with experimental sensing data. We found that the experimental result has a negligible difference from the modeling equation result. We verified that the modeling equation can be used in simulations. As the neural network controller acquires magnetic field values(B$\sub$x/, B$\sub$y/, B$\sub$z/) from the three-axis, the controller outputs a steering angle. The controller uses the back-propagation algorithms of neural network. The learning pattern acquisition was obtained using computer simulation, which is more exact than human driving. The simulation program was developed in order to verify the acquisition of the teaming pattern, learning itself, and the adequacy of the design controller. Also, the performance of the controller can be verified through simulation.

In ubiquitous environment, sensor networks that sense and transmit surrounding data without human intervention will become more important. If sensors are installed for detecting vehicles and measuring their speed in the road and that real-time information is given to drivers, it will be very effective for enhancing safety and controlling traffic in the road. In this paper, we proposed a new reliable and real-time sensor MAC protocol between AP and sensor nodes in order to provide real-time traffic flow information based on ubiquitous sensor networks. The proposed MAC allocates one TDMA slot for each sensor node on the IEEE 802.15.4 based channel structure, introduces relayed communication for distant sensors, and adopts a frame structure that supports retransmission for the case of errors. In addition, the proposed MAC synchronizes with AP by using beacon and adopts a hybrid tracking mode that supports economic power consumption according to various traffic situations, We implemented a simulator for the proposed MAC by using sim++ and evaluated various performances. The simulation results show that the proposed MAC reduces the power consumption and reveals excellent performance in real-time application systems.
